This product does a surprisingly fantastic job, even with old polaroid photos. Used it to scan some pictures to my Mac and it worked seamlessly! Would recommend it to anyone looking for a good scanner.

I was looking for a scanner that I could use to scan both documents for work on my Windows computer, and old polaroids and personal documents on my Mac. After a quick software download this scanner is truly plug and play, and provides good quality scans for what I need. I really like light weight and small footprint (when using the included stand) of this item as well. This is a great basic scanner.

Epson - Perfection V39 Advanced Flatbed Color Photo Scanner - Is what you need for all your scanning jobs... Fast, reliable, easy to use and images are high quality.

The so-called auto-cropping feature is awful on the V39 model. It consistently misses where the actual picture is so I am having to crop the images manually. Not a huge deal, but would be a lot faster if it actually worked. Also, trying to scan anything above 1200 DPI is a joke. First, the scanner goes to "Not Responding" then it jumps way up to like 39 minutes remaining...My PC is plenty capable of running a scanner. 32GB of RAM, 6-core 4GHz processor. The scanner is only USB 2.0 anyway. Scan Image quality from printed photos is quite good. I am impressed. The Color restore feature is nice for someone like me who is not adept at photo editing, and the dust remover is also pretty nice. Did not care for the photo brighter. Coming from an HP Photo scanner, and this is a huge improvement combined with the software it comes with, which looks basic but has lots of neat features. I'm doing uncompressed .TIFF 1200DPI 24-bit scans from older printed photos for storing memories for my family. Looking forward to this project very much. I hope the scanner can handle it!

Very nice scanner. I primarily scan documents for digital storage. All software is different so it takes a little time to get familiar with it. Wish there was a larger visible area for the name you give the scanned item when storing and was able to defeat the page numbers given to the scanned pages by the software.

I did not want to send my organized boxes of family photos to be scanned by a service nor did I want to pay per photo. This flatbed scanner did a great job with my photos. I spent a little time each day scanning a stack of photos to eventually work my way thru the boxes.

I bought this to scan old family photos I wanted to share. Some of my relatives wan to print larger copies, so I needed to scan/save as a high resolution TIFF files. However, I discovered (from tech support) that the dpi options listed in the software menu are not necessarily available for every photo size. Other novice users might want to be aware of this, as the software documentation doesn't make that clear.

Easy to use and great quality. I like the compact size and the kickstand to store it upright.

Great product. Good price. It was a little difficult to set up, and to get cooperating with my computer, but now that I am through that, it works very well.
