This was a significant improvement over what we were using to scan photos (a printer / scanner). We went from slowly scanning individual photos to fairly quickly scanning up to 6 photos at once (while still having to adjust the finishing touches to each photo). Most of the photos from the 1950's to the 1980's were noticeably improved by the end of the tweaking process. We were glad we purchased this.

I was looking for a scanner to scan hundreds of old pictures. The Epson Perfection V39 II was exactly what I needed for archiving purposes. Connection was a simple USB-A to USB-micro for power and data. The Windows software worked well upon installation. The one-touch scanning made process quick and easy. Scanning a 5x7 color photo took less than 10 seconds compared to the 30+ seconds with an all-in-one printer/scanner I was using before. The only issue is that scanning a B&W photo produced an unusable document. I'm sure using other software would have fixed the issue, but I did not have time to investigate.

It's been a long time since ive needed a flatbed scanner. And wow they have come a long way. I always leaned toward Epson for my printers and scanners so I grabbed this one. Super sleek and lightweight. Scans are miles better than the last flat bed I had. Solid purchase.

Bought this to scan in some photos for a celebration of life slideshow we were putting together. The quality is great, even on some older photos that weren’t in great shape. The software works well and isn’t hard to install. If I had to pick a negative it would be the speed of the scans. It’s not bad, but if you have a large project or are scanning in hundreds of photos you might want something a little faster.

I made a video for a family member's funeral, and ended up scanning about 100 photos for it. The scanner was light and small enough to fit in my backpack, so I could do the scanning at my mom's house and leave the original photos with her. It was powered by the USB cable so that was super convenient. The driver was easy to download, and I could scan 4 pics at a time.

It scans color photos just fine but will not scan black and white photos. It will not scan gray shades, they scan as black.

Really nice portable page scanner. Quality good enough for photos and a size small enough to carry with your laptop. The scanner is reasonably fast at 300 dpi. It operates from a single USB-C connection that provides both power and communication.

This a low cost option for scanning large numbers of old photos. The image quality is very good. It is slower than some much more expensive options, but this isn't an issue when you're sorting through, say, your parents old photos and deciding which to keep and so on while the previous one scans.

I really enjoy this scanner. It has answered some of the complaints that have been written about it: 1) Noisy? Makes a little whirring sound letting you know it's doing the job 2) Not fast? I only scan images that I cherish, scanning hundreds in minutes is not what I need 3) Image quality? I use my computer's photo editing if I want things to look different 4) When photo is placed in the corner as directed, it will cut the margin? It does! I place the original at the center top and adjust the margins after with my computer. I like that the top will stay open while you load, and that oversize items can be layed flat under the cover so you can still scan a portion of the original. I have never used the kick stand. I scan mostly at 300 dpi (higher does not improve my old photos). I was not able to register my purchase because "location" of United States is not a choice in the drop down - what is that all about? No buyer's remorse for me and my requirements.
