I had spent some days prior to purchasing this unit trying to verify which models would work with the newer OS, and this information was not always easy to find and verify. The software is available to download from the Epson site. Surprisingly, the scanner is powered off the same USB cable used for the data connection. Very lightweight. A great deal!

I tried to return thinking it was broken... it glitched after 3 days of use but it was outside of the 15 day return window. Best Buy just shrugged at me. I had to ask a friend to trouble shoot with me and it was the accessory drivers on the computer I guess? I just restart my computer any time it happens now.

I needed a flatbed scanner to scan in pages that I needed to place into a booklet that I was doing. I had never worked with a scanner before; it was very user friendly to get started and to use. The price fit my budget. Epson was a brand that I had used before, and I trusted the quality.

Will not install - DO NOT BUY

The Epson installer cannot find the scanner, even though it appears in Device Manager. Bought this because we are in a pinch and need to scan docs quickly. Now we are in an even worse situation after wasting time on this piece of poop. And the GLOBAL Epson corporation does not have a 24/7 help line; we can get help during normal business hours tomorrow. Thanks Epson, NOT

Easy photo scanner

We were able to scan 3 photos at a time and the software automatically saved as separate images. This saved us quite a bit of time as it scans fairly quickly and easily using a button on the scanner. The only cable is usb (no power) so that was convenient.

When using with Mac OS 13.X, if the computer goes to sleep and you later resume working on the computer, you will lose the ability to communicate with the scanner. To communicate again with the scanner it is necessary to log out of the computer and log back in. Then the Epson software is able to function.
