I purchased this for scanning the hundreds of slides we inherited from my in-laws. The scanner brings back color images that look like they were taken yesterday with a modern camera. One thing to be aware of is that utilizing the full ice technology for color and scratch corrections will add considerable scanning time for each slide. This process also can make fine lines in the image somewhat sharp and artificial.

Bought this specifically to scan 35mm and 120mm film negatives. Have tried a couple of 35mm films and the product has not disappointed. Even scanned a photo, the output is really good. Fulfills my needs!

Finally found a slide scanner that is compatible with my MacBook Pro. I am very happy with the scanner. It is easy to use and you can scan up to 4 slides at a time, without having to remove the film from it's holder. It also scans pictures, etc. I think it is worth the price.

This scanner took a bit of learning to master, but once we did it more than delivered. I could not find our wedding picture album, but did have our negatives. They were taken with a medium format camera, and we produced digital copies that viewed on our computers were far superior to our original photos on paper. We now have them and can share them instantly with anyone. I am now converting all of our 35mm negatives, which will take awhile. Again, the results are outstanding. Old washed out printed photos become better than originals.

I have an all-in-one printer/scanner/copier. The Epson Perfection V550 offers options that the all-in-one device cannot deliver, such as scanning slides and negatives 35mm and larger as well as providing photographic scanning retouching capability. Features my all-in-one device cannot perform.

I have a bunch of old pictures that I want to get electronic instead of the actual pictures. The scanner is working great. As long as you leave some space between the pictures, they each make their own file. I am able to rename the file to whatever I want. This is exactly what I have been looking for. It even, sometimes, rotates the picture correctly, if you put it on the scanner sideways. Can't wait to get all the pictures electronic. I won't have to have all of these picture albums laying around.

I was entrusted with family historian duties over Thanksgiving. This is just one of three scanners that I ended up purchasing. I chose the Epson flatbed because it allowed me to scan oversized documents and photographs. The goal is to make everything digital as far as anything, related to ancestry or family tree stuff. 1200 dpi scans do take long. Can't beat the quality for the price. It also has a unique feature of being able to scan 35mm negatives. It's time consuming, but it can be done!
