This was a replacement for an equivalent Epson scanner that was about 10 years old. I was hoping that they had improved things enough with respect to the speed of processing because I have a couple of thousand slides and negatives to scan. What I found was that the quality was outstanding, but the time it took to process just a small quantity of slides was very long. When I projected what it would take to scan all my slides/negatives it worked out to a full-time job for quite some time, so I returned it to Best Buy.

I have hundreds of pics, some very old, that needed to be saved. This scanner produced great digital reproductions. Set up time minimal, able to put them in files for different family members easily

Scanner scans up to 4 photos at a time and saves them in individual files. It works well for home use. I have not used the slide or negatives options yet but I am glad to have them.

This unit replaces my old Epson Perfection V2400. The V550 with the digital ice works very well. I have thousands of negatives and slides to scan. It will take a while, but scanner will work for me. Pro's - faster than V2400, Con's - still slow when using digital ice and file sizes are very large. Be sure you have an external hard drive handy!

I purchased this scanner solely for the purpose of scanning in negatives that I have. I have not had any issues and am overall quite pleased with my purchase. I know that there are more expensive and dedicated scanners for this purpose, so without having any exposure to those devices, I can't compare the quality of the images being scanned, but am satisfied nonetheless.

I have a MacBook and was happy to find that there is MAC software available for the scanner! The scans are perfect! I was able to scan old negatives and was pleasantly surprised to see 4-color positive images come to life again! I love this scanner and would absolutely recommend it to anyone who is looking for an efficient and high quality scanner!

I was planning to use my Canon printer to scan all old pictures but someone recommended Epson Perfection scanner for this purpose. This is an excellent scanner for this purpose as one can scan many pictures at the same time and each one is stored in separate file. Also, the scanner can digitize picture from film or slides which is great.

I was supplementing another Epson scanner so I could scan photos at two locations. The newer technology scans faster, with much shorter warmup times. The ability to scan a group of prints and have them separated by software is a real time saver. Image quality is good, but high-resolution scans still can take a few minutes per image. It's a good value for a home or small office that doesn't need really high production rates.

I had a large number of old family photos and letters and documents I wanted to scan into my computer to save for my family. While I have an all in one printer, I seem to have trouble scanning with it so I researched and researched for a scanner to use to attack this huge massive project. I have a Mac and so far this scanner has been a pleasure to work with but as of yet I have not figured out how to do the slides.

I plugged the scanner into my mac book pro and it would not work because the drivers were not written for the newest OS. But when I plugged it into my older iMac (2016), it worked perfect. Once you start scanning, you have a lot of options to choose from. Take your time and play with it a little before you start your project. All in all, this unit works very nice and has a clean professional look to the scans.

I've had great results with the scanner. I've scanned close to 3,000 photos thus far and still going strong. Occasionally the scanner has trouble segmenting photos and will copy 2 as 1 photo. But this is corrected easily by copying the photo and cropping each one to get your separate photo. The end quality of the photos is surprisingly good.
