I have thousands of photos and I am serious. Photos of my grandparents, parents, myself and siblings, my children, my grandchildren, family, and friends. I had mini spurts when I actually "did" something with my photos. I am now to a point where I am overwhelmed with photos. Chaos! I know my children and grandchildren will not be interested in my shoe boxes full of photos of who knows what. My goal is to scan the important photos and even scan some fun art work the kids made, (so then I can toss the artwork), and save all these digitally. It's a huge under taking and I wanted to be sure I had a quality "photo" scanner that was faster than a regular printer/scanner but I didn't want to spend the money for a professional one. I do believe I bought the perfect one for my needs.

Have only used this scanner a couple of times and it works fine. Bought it to have a dedicated scanner with high resolution for scanning personal pictures. It does have very high res capability but you have to dig into the menus.

I love this scanner. I have old family album photos, some of them taken in the 1920s to 2020. Some of the older photos were faded, the scanner did a great job in upgrading look.

Bought the scanner to scan blk and white documents and was not disappointed. The surprise came when I tried to scan some color documents, very pleasantly surprised.

After my older Epson scanner died I was in a pinch. For $159 this replacement smoked my previous Epson. I scan mostly negatives and this unit is much better quipped to handle 35mm & 2-1/4. (You'd need the 800 to get 4x5). I would def buy again. A+++

This scanner provides very good results. It was purchased for a project involving old family photos. It actually provides results superior to the photo scanned in advanced mode. Quite pleased with the output, although I do wish it was a little faster.

I purchased THIS scanner to replace my ten year old Epson scanner. Got it home, hooked it up and, as usual with Epson, installation was a breeze! I was back to work within fifteen or so minutes! Love it!

The scanner is very easy to set up yet comes with many options. I haven't tried scanning film negatives yet, but the setup was easy and works well. It is also pretty light and easy to maneuver while setting up.

The Epson - Perfection V550 Photo Scanner was exactly what I was looking for in a higher end scanner. Does an excellent job bringing slides and negatives (from 50 years ago) into the digital age.

A larger image area would be better, but for anything letter size the features are excellent. Was looking for descreening and this not only does it but gives options. And doing negatives was a pleasant surprise.

The Epson - Perfection V550 Photo Scanner - Black is great at scanning negatives and photos. Scanning negatives provides better photos than 30 years ago and replaces missing or damaged photos. Hold on to those negatives!

This scanner works great right out of the box. The setup is not difficult, but does take a little bit of a learning curve. Once it is setup, scanning is easy and very high quality. Far better than most I have used.

The included software and performance of the scanner has made scanning old family phots and negatives simple. The quality is great and the speed of capture is adequate.

Easy to use. The scanner does go great job with negatives. The only thing I wish was it was able to scan a little faster, but I sort of knew that going into it so I can't knock the machine for this issue.

The scanner is great for what I was wanting. I had some old photos that were going to need some work With this scanner, I can make a lot of dots to work with to improve age, damage, and so fort. Thank You

Even though the price of V550 was more than I was looking to spend. It performance is excellent. I haven't tried all of it's features, but expect them to be on par with the quality of this scanner.

This makes excellent copies of photos and slides for archiving. Have been using it a lot over last 6 months save all old family slides and pictures

Need to scan a bunch of pictures for a memorial and our all in one printer was not doing what we needed. This had good reviews and I was surprised how easy it was. My wife did all the pictures and loved it.

I attended a genealogy workshop and this scanner was highly recommened. It renders excellent quality scanned photos.
