Customers are delighted by the Powerlite Home Cinema 3500 Projector's impressive picture quality and brightness, along with its surprisingly easy setup and user-friendly interface. Many appreciate the inclusion of 3D capabilities and the convenient lens shift feature. While some users noted the black levels could be improved and the fan can be audible at times, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive.

Since I wasn't able to see a demo I had to rely on reviews and I'm relieved that they weren't wrong. This is a terrific projector for the money. It's very bright, even in Eco mode. This is my third projector and by far the best. The horizontal lens shift allowed me to use the existing mounting position which saved a lot of time. I highly recommend it.

Very pleased with this projector. Came from the previous generation Epson and excited to see brighter image for lit rooms, higher contrast and truer colors. Added benefit of included 3D glasses if you are into that. Only negative is finicky focus ring but that is remedied by projectors twice its cost.

First, the viewing experience of the 108 inch widescreen provided by the projector was a unique experience and made the outlay for the projector worth it. The view was sufficiently unique to even a large screen tv to go to the effort arranging a projector viewing room in addition to a normal tv viewing area. Second, the higher cost projectors are worth it for simply the reduction of noise if nothing else but there are other value added features such as a swivel projector.

This projector is amazing. The picture is definitely full HD quality. I wasnt sure what to expect, but my 110" screen displays an image as clear as any 1080p hdtv i have, including my 65" samsung 240hz. Refresh rate is great, no blurry images during high speeds. Best buy doesnt mention this but this projector is designed to be mounted perfectly level and then make the screen adjustments using lens shift. This way you dont have to use keystone correction. I mounted it on the ceiling and it is aimed at the top of the screen. Using the left/right up/down lens shift knobs on the top of the projector, i was able to get a perfect 16:9 rectangular image on my screen. I could have mounted the projector above or below the screen and achieved the same image using lens shift. I tried out the 3020 epson and found the picture to be great as well but it didnt have lens shift which made it difficult to achieve a good picture from a downward or upward angle. The projector is in a room with one window and a blackout curtain, ceiling light does wash out image, but it is barely noticeable. As long as you dont have direct light on the screen, you can watch with lights on no problem. Turn the lights off and you get an amazingly crisp, clear picture for movie night. All in all i couldnt be happier, i got a 110" hd picture for $1500, you cant beat that.

This is my second projector for the home after my first one showed me how great they are to have.
I needed 1080p, which does mean I had to pay a decent bit, but for casual gaming and movies in bed, this is such a great piece of gear. The image is much brighter than other projectors I've used, the color and image look great, and the throw is pretty wide, which helps a great deal for smaller rooms.
I didn't realize it had a 3D function until after I had bought it, but it's fantastic! The effect works superbly, and it feels very much like watching 3D movies in the theater.

Great picture quality. Very low operating noise. You could barely hear it. Lens shift feature was an advantage to us for adjusting the projection to the screen. We had it installed by geek squad.

Compared to a previous gen model, like the 8350; this projector has fast start times and even faster cool times. Image quality is comparable; except for this has 3D capabilities; which I don't find that good in any TV or projector so far. It has a better signal processor with better blacks and better detail. The optical lens shift in my opinion seems less capable (flimsy) than the previous model but still a high point on this unit. This adds better controls like discrete on and off buttons (extremely useful when using an universal remote with macros), it adds keystone correction; which is useful in some cases but should be avoided at all costs (That's what lens shift is for); and finally has R & B alignment (V & H); whereas in previous models was factory set (sometimes less than optimal). It's slightly quieter than previous models as well.
It's bright enough to be used in daylight; with good black levels.

I had a different brand projector for 10 years and was uncertain if this technology had advanced or would out perform it. I'm glad to say it has and far exceeded my expectations. I'm so impressed that I'm considering getting the next level up for my home theater. The image quality is comparable to HD when using high resolution or digital equipment. Cable isn't bad but you can see the difference. The change in quality is not enough to sway my rating. I use my projector daily and it performs exceptional dark areas and good in dim lighted areas. The only thing I would advise is to beware the vent blows out hot air towards the front. This is not a factor if your projector is positioned away from where you are seated.

THis was a replacement for an HS51 Sony Projector. Setup was very easy, Picture is beyond excellent. Noise is a minimum in eco mode, which I can use as it's in a dedicated theatre room with no windows. Went in for the 3020 and saw this one as the upgrade with a close price. Glad I stepped it up. Haven't tried 3D as I'm on component cables now, have not ran my 35 ft HDMI yet. That's next step. If you are on the fence, choose this one !

Great picture good sound really easy to set up the only con to this projector is the only audio is a 3.5 mm I did not expect that, I figured it would have had an a/v out. But I love it.
