Very pleased with the quality of the projector. Very easy set up and connected easily with a sound bar with HDMI connections. I wasn't sure about the loudness of the fan prior to purchase but it turned out to be a non issue and I sit directly under the projector.

Amazing picture, great blacks, great color, great sharpness. Had an issue with a fuzzy white spot. Called Epson. Took care of me no questions asked. Epson all the way for now on.

This projector produces crisp clear images that flow very naturally. Because of the lens shift & keystone functionality that offers, it is very easy to set it up and make the image aligned with the screen location. The projector also generates very bright images, to the point that the Eco mode (saves power and lightbulb life) was bright enough for my taste. The remote control is complete and easy to use. I also found the menus to be logical and easy to follow.
Unfortunately my projector was defective and had a dead spot near the center of the image and also made some abnormal noises related to the same issue. The guys at Best Buy (Justin) at West Oaks in Houston (239) did a great job not only standing behind the product that they sold me but also offering alternatives to solve the issue. At the end, I changed my decision and bought the Sony vplhw40es; despite the fact the Epson is a good projector, it is more than a year old (although did receive recently an update to its software that is supposed to maximize picture quality); in the other hand, the Sony has been just released and incorporates features previously only seen in higher end series.

The picture you get from this projector is extremely good. It is very easy to set up initially with the buttons on top of the projector. I am very impressed with this projector and can't wait to show it off.

Guys if you can spend the extra money and for this who can afford better for their media room and yet love the saving, close your eyes and buy this, now from what I hear BB might not be carrying this product, but I am not sure. But the quality and features and easy of set up is unbelievable. Now me and my electrical engineer friend keystoned it and concluded it show throws the picture to the left again we are not experts but we did what we had to do and we are very happy with it. MUST BUY and instantly fall in love. I do plan to hire a pro and make sure he tweets it for the best result but me and my good friends installed the whole package very easy as long as your room is wired.

My wife and I have built our theatre room backwards compared to most. We had everything including the screen already in place using a cheap projector that I have for work presentations. Theatre quality projectors aren't cheap and we were close to pulling the trigger a couple of times and held off. Finally decided to do it and I can honestly say it was the best thing we have ever done. Mind blowing quality and crispness. 3D capable. Just an all around homerun. Couldn't be more pleased. Picture quality is as good or better than projectors that cost twice as much. We looked and researched for almost two years before finally arriving at this one.

Setup was simple, and out of the box the picture was great...after switching the color mode to "Cinema". If you're a tech junkie, I would recommend manually adjusting the color and gamma settings. I took my settings from a projector review website, and the resulting picture quality is incredible. The projector does a great job in 3D mode, and excels in converting 2D video to 3D. For gamers, the latency is slightly noticeable, but as long as you don't engage the frame interpolation then the delay is minimal.
I was considering the similarly priced Sony projector but chose this one because of my previous bad luck w Sony products. Very happy with the choice!

Replaced a 3 yr. old projector with the Epson and am amazed at the picture quality difference. Geek squad set it up for me (had to go to store for new ceiling mount-old universal mount was too small) and did a professional job. Highly recommend this unit and BB installation.

This is the best projector I've ever owned. Black levels are amazing, focus is tack sharp, color is vibrant. The 3D is some of the brightest I've ever seen on a home projector. Color is great out of the box. Minor calibration will get your colors and contrast spot on. Great uniformity and I love the fact that I was able to use the panel alignment to get the convergence perfect. It's a great device and an incredible value. Highest rating.

I just upgraded to this Epson Powerlite Home Cinema 5030UB from my Epson Powerlite Home Cinema 730HD, which was my first entry level projector. However, this 5030UB is just AMAZING! I am beyond happy and satisfied with this purchase. 3D is amazing, and so is gaming on my Xbox. Regular Shows/Movies look great too!

The 3D experience is the best I have ever seen! The picture is plenty bright and very clear. We went to the theater after we installed our projector and were so disappointed in the quality there that we may never leave the house again to see another movie. Our screen size is 120 inches bought on Amazon from Silver Ticket for $249 and the picture is excellent. I would recommend this projector to anyone. Sure it is a little pricey, but well worth it!

The picture is great and the projector is bright. It works well even in lit rooms but can be a bit loud at higher brightness levels. However, this is by no means a deal breaker.

We saw this Epson in action at a friend's house, playing Avatar 3D. We were blown away! Did LOTS of research online and read TONS of reviews. Besides having seen what it is capable in person, we look to other Epson5030ub owners reviews because most people are honest and "Tell it like it is." So now adding my 2 cents, if you are hesitating or wondering about this model, please don't! It makes an Excellent home theater experience! We have been looking for a reason to cut the cable cord for a long time and this was it for us. Paired with a good antenna and any good streaming service, we now see everything we want to see on a 120" (diagonal) screen on the wall! For the playoffs tonight we felt like we were right there on the field! You can't beat it! We are now officially spoiled and will never have a small tv screen again. Also the days of $12 movie tickets and $5 candy are over!

Excellent projector for dedicated media room

I'm using this projector in a dedicated media room with no windows. In this light controlled environment the picture is amazing. With the lights low or off it looks like a 120" LCD TV. This is my first projector so I can only compare it to tv's I've owned. I was concerned about the picture quality for only 1080P on a 120" screen but the picture is fantastic on quality blu-ray material. Even in 2D mode there is incredible depth. Amazing color, blacks and whites. The large screen does make lower quality source material evident, as there is a noticeable difference between cable/satellite picture and a good blu-ray.
I highly recommend this projector. I'm sure I'll be happy with it for several years until a nice 4K projector becomes affordable.
