My first impression of this scanner was of how incredibly compact it is. I thought it was a small box and then opening it up showed me the box was huge for the actual product. It is definitely portable and that is a nice feature. Using it is very easy, the Scan Smart software works well on my 2020 Mac mini M1, and never has any hiccups or slowdowns. I use it primarily over USB as I don't see the need to go with Wifi when I am on a desktop, not to mention the negatives about the wifi functionality which requires you to disconnect from your network to directly connect to the scanner. This is a shared negative for both phone and computer as I tried it both ways. If you were truly on the go using LTE for internet and Wifi to connect to the scanner it would not be a problem at all and I suspect that is the primary intention for that design. So for home or office use, USB is the way to go with it. Scanning is quick and it takes good quality images of receipts. I was able to scan over 100 receipts in just over an hour, and they for the most part looked great. If your receipt is faded it really struggles to produce a legible scan though. The other issue I ran into a lot is if you attempt to scan a very long receipt over 20" it will not succeed. It will get part or most of the way through before deciding there is a paper jam because of the length. There was no way I could find around that problem, I tried over and over again to no avail with several different receipts. The only solution was to cut it in half and scan the two halves separately which was disappointing. Battery life is also great, without charging it right out of the box I did those 100 receipts before it started to complain about a low battery. It had started at about half life out of the box so I'd imagine a couple hundred scans would be no problem on a full charge. On that note and maybe it has more to do with my Mac than anything it was not taking a charge while plugged into the computer, I had to plug it into a different source for charging. Again, I don't know for sure it wouldn't charge plugged into a different computer but mine didn't seem to do it. Overall, this is a very nice compact easy solution for scanning in those receipts you wish to keep on hand. Being able to convert them digitally into QuickBooks or other similar software is a big deal for business use, and as long as your receipts are very legible it will do a great job. If not, it can be a bit of a task in itself. Definitely aimed at the on the go professional, however works great on a desktop as well. I am happy with the results it has produced for me so far and will continue to use it to keep up with my digitizing of receipts from here on out.

So far it’s been working great! It was definitely worth the extra money for the wireless version.

Overall the scanner is decent. It is small and scans quickly - when it actually scans. I can set it up to scan on my phone, but to access the actual scanner with my computer is a nightmare. Epson has very little actual help listed in troubleshooting besides "TURNING IT OFF AND ON AGAIN. I am returning this for lack of support.

Easy scanning, setup and options are limited and the user interface needs work. It should allow for multiple pages without having to click on the screen and going back and forth. I am happy with the product but not 100% what I expected. I am keeping it until I find something better.

This scanner is very easy to connect and the software isn’t too difficult to understand. Occasionally the scans don’t come through clear even when you adjust the settings. But overall it’s pretty good. I don’t think it’s worth the price unless you can catch it on sale.
