Excellent video Projector at excellent price point
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have purchased 2 Epson projectors over the past 16 years (The Moviemate projector w a built in DVD player to project DVDs, and their now discontinued 9200 Pro ) -- both continue to work flawlessly. The quality of Epson projectors in performance, reliability, ease of use continues to get better & better with lower costs to boot. The VS 260 is ultra portable being extremely light weight and with a tiny footprint. I used a USB cable into my new MacBook Air and most everything needed to do in order to be up and running occurred within 5 minutes. The Mac Operating system immediately recognized the projector, I said OK to the download and install, and then simply clicked on USB as the connection source. My computer screen was mirrored in absolutely vibrant color. A few seconds later I adjusted the focus ring and the images were very sharp. Because of the angle presented by a low table and high screen, I used the VS260 's ability to create a perfectly rectangular image. I did not have to prop up the projector thanks to it's elevation button that released a tiny "foot" for the perfect angle. I watched a movie projected to a 6 foot screen in a daylight filled room, and couldn't have been happier with the brightness. The 3,300 lumens provided excellent brightness and contrast. Certainly there are higher resolution projectors made by Epson and competitors (not needed and probably overkill for home use, or most office use), but not at the Epson VS260 price point. In summary, Epson means proven cost effective quality to me attested to by the longevity of my previously purchased projectors. Epson software and hardware continue to be top notch, as this projector demonstrates.

Pretty okay projector.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Epson VS260 made me realize something. That it's something I didn't know I needed until I got it. I was always content with my 50 inch tv. It wasn't until I set up the projector against my wall and saw the 80 inches (Roughly measured) that I realized how much I've been missing out. The tv outputs 720p, which isn't amazing in the world of 1080p and 4k resolutions, but it does an adequate job. Setting up is literally plugging it in to a power outlet and plugging in a media source. For this review, I decided to use my laptop as my main media source. Once everything is plugged in, it's as simple as pressing the power button twice. The projector found my laptop immediately and connected. In seconds I had mirrored my laptop. One of the unexpected features is that the projector can output sound. The sound is surprisingly loud, and can be raised or lowered using the buttons on the projector or the included remote. You can also split between two sources. I imagine this is more useful if you were using it for work or school. You have options such as brightness, sharpness, the usual. You can change the aspect ratio and zoom in and out. For 720p the picture looked pretty good. This is good enough to output a movie. The picture won't be super crisp, but it will get the job done. All in all, the set up was super easy, the projector outputs a decent picture, and enough setting options to modify the picture to your liking.

Best projector I have came across in a long time!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was excited to try this and the opening was great it was small and compact it had few ports to insert my firestick witch i was excited to try so this was basically a huge tv take anywhere portable movie theater size big enough wall. it was crystal clear looked really good light up and it worked with the lights on in building I was amazing at the quality and size and it had a remote to control the size audio input media. i was really impressed with this maybe black was better color but it was nice color and nice clean feel I can easy store anywhere or take on road. maybe more universal serial bus ports more function's. I did plug this to my laptop for work and I was great to present my presentations and did my charts for all the things i needed this for it came in handy it did a great job and good audio to make this a really good projector I for minute thought it was 4k with the screen quality when I turned it on but is surely very crisp color and quality is nice. I really enjoy and loved this all around for me and my friends or coworkers to enjoy. This is a review for the Epson VS260 XGA projector that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.”

Lockdown fav new toy
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wow! The movie theater just made it to our gone with this Epson projector. Does not include any wires needed to connect your devices. Hooked up my laptop using an HDMI cable and was ready to go. The picture and sound quality are great with movies/shows projecting off the laptop but when it comes to taking with the Nintendo Switch, It glitches out and the screen was blinking until I changed the setting on the switch to lower standard of 720. The gaming experience was good/great depending on how much of a gaming pro/beginner you are. You can add a blue tooth speaker to increase/replace the surround sound but it depends on the device you blue tooth to. The different aspect ratios are pleasing to different viewers. I happen to enjoy both and depending on the content I’m watching I will select whichever is more visually pleasing. I’ve included two pics of the different aspect ratios. Color adjustment, is at your finger tips and adjusting the focus is easy at it’s located on top of the projector. The projector has a vent to prevent it from overheating and has a temp light to indicate if it’s reached a temp that too hot. I’ve never owned a projector so I don’t know what’s typical as far as how hot the projector gets but the hot air coming out of the vent seems a bit concerning. I have the projector sitting on top of a laptop fan which allows it to vent even more. Adjusting the screen is easy with the adjustable height foot and with the help of buttons on the top of the projector. To start up the projector, you need to press the power button twice. Sleep mode is included and can be adjusted. The sound/speaker doesn’t include a choice for surround sound nor an equalizer, but if you connect a sound bar to your laptop you may enjoy a more theater like experience. Turn any wall into an instant movie theater. Even in our nine person tent was the projector a hit. The remote control included allows for effortless change in settings, change in volume and more. Power consumption and economy features are included. It’s a bit noisy as you can hear the projector powered up, but eventually the noise level gets drowned by whatever you are listening to.

Awesome projector, great price point
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Like many of Americans, I have been working at home throughout most of 2020 due to COVID-19. I have a nice ultrawide monitor setup, but I always hoped for something larger for when I had WebEx/Zoom meetings. Enter this projector - easy to use and has a good picture. I’ve used for several work meetings and I am able to share my meeting on the projector while keeping my main work materials on my ultra wide monitor. An awesome bonus to my productivity each day! Highly recommended.

Almost a perfect projector for me
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Why almost? With today's technology I am able to get some cheaper models of projectors with USB-A ports as well as HDMI and also the availability of bluetooth connectivity for audio. And if bluetooth is not working for whatever reason, a 3.5mm jack for output is there on the cheaper models that cost a lot less. Yes this one has the brightness and throws at a shorter distance and blows the cheaper alternatives out of the water, but I want options. With USB B, really? A printer cord? To connect to usb is an inconvenience. Yes you can plug in a laptop if you have an HDMI port or a VGA connection. Both are indeed good, but with no USB A it doesn't complete my satisfaction. I was able to cast via HDMI and that works great, but the only speaker is onboard the projector. I know if you did hook up a laptop that opens up the available other audio options, but for a stand alone projector this is very dependent on other devices in my opinion. Would I recommend it? Only if you intend to use if for work with a laptop or other device. If you are looking to plug in a thumb drive here, look at other models. I am going to see if I can get a Male USB B port adapter to USB A female connection to see if I can use that as a stop gap to solve the issue in using a thumb drive.

Exactly What I Needed
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Epson VS260 is absolutely perfect for those of us who need an uncomplicated projector that still has everything you want in a projector. First of all, it has an unbelievably small footprint, a feature I love. It is about the exact same size as a sheet of copy paper. The layout of all the function buttons, focus adjustment, and the inputs were well thought out and intuitive. It comes with a remote, but just about all the functions can be accessed from the projector itself if you somehow misplaced the remote. The projected image is amazingly clear and crisp. I used a white backdrop sheet, and was impressed by the clarity of the image. Using a USB cable connected to my laptop, I was able to project a clearer image than what was displayed on the laptop, which was a bit of a mind-bender for me. I opened up several different Powerpoint presentations, videos, Word documents, and spreadsheets using both the USB and the HDMI inputs from my laptop. The USB was very good, but the HDMI was awesome. My family room is almost 30' long, so I was able to project a rather large image. This makes it perfect for locations such as conference rooms and small auditoriums, which is exactly where I will be using it. It has a built-in speaker which sounds great even when the volume is turned all the way up. Of course, if you don't want to use the built-in speaker, you can output to your own sound system. It would have been a nice feature to have a dedicated Audio Out port, but I certainly understand the reasoning behind not having one. The brightness of the Epson VS260 is such a welcome feature. The images are clear, bright, and easily seen, even when projecting to very large screens/walls. The Pros: Amazingly simple setup. Intuitive controls on both the projector itself, and the remote. Compact size. Super bright, crisp and clear image projection. The number and types of inputs. (USB, HDMI, and VGA). Easy to use remote. The Cons: The remote does not have a "Focus" function which means you have to adjust the focus from the projector itself. The fan makes a bit of noise. When it is all said and done, this projector will do everything you need it to do. It may not have all the whistles and bells, but it is still a fully functional and easy-to-use projector. I recommend this projector to anyone, whether it be for home entertainment use, or business.

amazing product!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this projector to use in my bedroom with a casual setup. The image is very good, and subtitles are easy to read. The text is slightly granulated due to the resolution, but it isn't something that I notice while I'm watching. The color is pretty good too. I keep it on eco mode and I have no issue with the color or brightness. I have an 11 ft projector distance and the image is roughly 90 inches using a 16:9 ratio. One annoying thing about this projector is that it always projects at 4:3 ratio, but it projects pure black bars when viewing in 16:9. They really aren't that noticeable, but I would prefer if it didn't operate this way. The only other complaint is that there is no audio out. It has built in speakers, which are ok, but you need to buy an hdmi extractor to output audio to external speakers. Extractors are ~$20. I think that you can buy a wireless dongle as well for bluetooth speakers. The image definitely wont compare to a 4K tv image, but I think that the image is great for a budget projector. I have no regrets buying it. This is a review for the Epson VS260 XGA projector that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.

Great, easy to set up and use
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We just love this projector. Many years ago we got one and remember it was so much trouble. But this is totally opposite. The children love it and it helps watching movies on the big screen with homemade popcorn since we're not going to the theater anytime soon. The children also get a kick out of playing video games on the big screen through Xbox. The color is great and sharp. With the many challenges of covid19, it's nice that they can look forward to something new and fun.

Immediately Impressive
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Many years ago, a monitor with 1024x768 resolution was the best thing in the world but we expect everything to be 4K now. But Epson's VS260 is immediately impressive. Hookup through HDMI was literally plug-and-play (there are USB and VGA inputs as well). The projector is controlled from a remote (batteries included) - zooming is controlled through the remote but focus is controlled by rotating a lens focusing ring on the front of the projector. And while older technology projectors might be passable in meetings where content is printed (documents/spreadsheets) or graphs/charts, content with vivid colors can be very unsatisfying. Their projection technology here, though, gives incredibly bright and faithful colors that set this Epson apart from older projectors. It is very well suited for movie projections (even in a room flooded with sunlight). It is small and light and easy enough to transport but it does not include a carrying case. The only two drawbacks are likely to be unavoidable with this technology - the projector generates considerable heat and the hardworking cooling fan is <ahem> noticeably loud. But there is no way to produce a projecting light this bright without quite a bit of heat - so I don't think of it as a flaw but it should be a consideration. Especially for the price, I don't know how anyone would fail to be impressed.

Bright clear, good sound, easy to set up.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bright image! Can a projector be too bright? This can be adjusted up and down using cinema or gaming or whatever custom profile you like. Screen is Visible with ambient room light, nice quiet fan, plus clear undistorted sound. Satisfyingly large picture and easy to adjust to get a square focused image. The type of jacks in the back however were not as advertised. Best Buy did upon request take steps to make this right, thanks. 720 p is fine and provides nice smooth streaming. As a projector the blacks do wash out a bit more than an LED panel, but it’s the nature of the beast. The theatre size is such fun and visible from any angle.

Epson nails it again
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A perfect low cost projector as bright and sharp as any other I have used in the past. Sharp and colorful images on the screen and in a size that makes transport easy. It only comes with a remote control (I do not use it) and a power cord. It uses a HDMI, a USB, and a multipin computer connector input. Obviously, the HDMI gives the best resolution and is the only one I use as my computer does not have the multipin connector. Have not used the USB connector so cannot comment on it. Runs cool and the fan noise is not distracting. The audio is not as good as separate speakers, but is about average for projector speakers and not the reason to buy this one. If you want a low cost, high performance display workhorse projector without a bunch of expensive bells and whistles, this is your pick. My only wish list item would be a sliding cover for the lens to keep off the dust when not in use, but otherwise, this one hits all my checkmarks.

Amazing, just amazing!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This projector is absolutely amazing. I really didn’t think the picture would be that clear so I didn’t have high expectations. Hookup was very easy. I used the Apple HDMI lightning adapter and plugged my phone into it. I was able to play my movies that I had downloaded to iTunes and was able to watch Netflix. The sound quality is good, not great. I haven’t figured out a way to hookup extra speakers to it but also haven’t really researched other sound options for it. I ordered a $19 screen from Amazon and was VERY impressed by the picture. There is a little turning lever on the lens that allows you to focus the picture which helped. I can’t wait to have many movie nights outside once it warms up again. But this thing, you will not regret it!!

Great for ultra dark applications
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This projector has most of what you’d want. Picture quality, light weight, easy to maintain. However in bright rooms it is whitewashed pretty easily, I’d recommend this projector for darker areas or areas without direct sunlight.

Impressive!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am very impressed with this projector. I use it in my bedroom for my source for TV and Movies. It works very well for that. I have also brought it out on my patio and played some video games when my nephew came over. It has great detail and color. I am honestly surprised being that it is only native 720p resolution. It gets very bright and shows a good picture while the lights are on. I use it with a decent screen at 77 inches. Has no problem with it. I am able to adjust the screen size and focus with ease. It's also very quiet. The fan isn't as loud as some other projectors similar to this one. I do wish it had a couple more HDMI inputs, but overall, I am very pleased with it.

Great projector
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This project is very easy to use. It is powerful enough to display in a lit room with no bleeding or fading of the colors. Have used it hooked up to the TV to project a movie on the wall and used with the computer in a meeting setting in a pretty standard sized conference room. It worked wonderfully in there too. Recognized computer inputs and TV inputs right away with no problems. The fan is a little bit loud the longer it runs.
