I mainly use it to scan receipts and some fast daily documents. It was very easy to connect to win10 computer. I assigned a folder where I want all the receipts to be stored. Works every time. Some of the nice features about it that it is small (compared to regular scanner), portable (battery powered) and wireless (over WiFi). One thing that could make its portability perfect is: to have internal memory so you can sync later (when connect to PC). I didn't try the other features (yet) as I don't have a need for them. They are indeed nice to have. Power last long enough (for my application). It works on 5V power source as well. Scanning speed is quite fast. Duplex feature is nice but kind of tricky to get it the first time. I set up the scanning quality to default! Nothing HD or fancy but the job is done correctly. Compared to other office's scanners, the others would take long time to initiate the scan, slow scanning speed and then long time to have the page scanned. This one would do it with one click. Epson is always a good name when coming to printers and scanners. Can't go wrong with it! It is indeed a good item if you are looking to have a mobile office.

Rated a three because it is challenging to set up. I had to uninstall It twice before it connected. You have to go online for the complete setup instructions. Scans quickly and small footprint is nice leaving room for me at my desk.

I work in the health care field and I am in and out of hospitals all day and night. I noticed that many hospitals use scanners such as this to cut down on the amount of paper that is used which is a plus to keep cost down. I am really surprised just how small this scanner is it barely takes up any space on my desk. It also barely weighs anything it is less than 5lbs. It works over Wi-fi which is expected for devices in this day and age. I decided to use it with my Mac in my bedroom. I am using it on the latest version High Sierra. I did encounter issues at first and uninstalled the software and reinstalled but now it runs without issue. I did get the small warning that the software is not optimized for the version of OSX but I don't think that would be a problem. This scanner serves many purposes. Between me and my significant other we use this so much but for different reasons. She decided to scan hand outs and print outs from her lectures from her university that she attends. It most definitely is a great way to keep organized to review notes, exams, and other documents for students. I am not attending university yet but I will use this for that purpose once I do. I use it for keeping copies of receipts, legal documentation from my landlord, tax & finance documents. I am aware that with the available Epson software you can create PDF documents and you should be able to convert to office formats such as .xls or .doc but I have yet to try that. For those who have a privacy concerns for sensitive documents I know that it is possible to password protect pdf files so that if your information is hacked it would not be easily readable by nefarious individuals. I'm currently learning more about that so I can't offer much on how it is done but I know it is possible. This model is advertised for its portability because of a built in rechargeable battery. I have not tested that feature yet but look forward to testing out that feature on my laptop. I could only imagine how handy that feature must be. The scanner can also be operated via usb but I prefer using it over Wi-Fi. I keep my files local on an external drive and it is also backed up via cloud using Drive. Cloud storage is inexpensive and definitely is worth considering for those who have a lot of digital files and documents that are important. TL:DR this is a great small scanner that is useful for may purposes, it is lightweight, great for file organization, will help you save money from having to buy multiple filing cabinets & etc. I have found it to be more than useful and I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking to get rid of clutter in their office, home office or apartment. I could not find anything bad to say about this scanner and although it may sound unrealistic because nothing is perfect I just simply love this Epson scanner too much.

I was really surprised at how well this device worked and the effort made to make it very user friendly. I know that it will take any user time to master all of its functions but so far it has been very strong from packing, installation, and user friendly software. The software does a very good job at making the installation and usage easy. The included installation guide is minimal but just what is needed until it hands you over to the software. There was one place where it complained I had Internet Explorer open and needed me to close it before finishing. Even when I closed it the software would not finish installing but it tells you to reboot the computer and then it should finish. It does not tell you what to run after the reboot to get the same spot during the installation. I recalled it was during the Epson Software Updater that it was running from before the system restart. Once the software is installed it walks you through doing an initial test of the scanner. The scanner worked great and was extremely fast. Adjusting the scanner to scan business cards to papers were very easy and accurate. Once you scan it gives you options to save the scans as a PDF file on your system, attach to emails, print, save in MS Word, Excel, or PowerPoint formats. The software was aware of external services as well like Google Drive, Dropbox, or even Evernote. It even includes a Receipt Manager application to organize scans of your receipts. It also has an application you can install on your phone to transmit as scans to your PC from your phone through the phone camera.

I have a printer scanner combination in my house and one of the biggest pains is walking upstairs to go scan a document to email and then send it out. This device cuts all of that work out by being not only cordless and wireless Wifi but also compact and easy to set up. It took no time at all to download the drivers from the Epson website and set up the scanner. Plus it is really cool to use and can even scan business cards or receipts. It works on PC and MAC and is just a great machine! I highly recommend this device!

This is a cordless, wireless duplex scanner. That makes it super handy for a mobile professional, who's out and about and has to scan documents, invoices, receipts, etc. It comes with really good software -- Epson Scan 2 has some great additional features over Epson ScanSmart, although ScanSmart is still quite useful. It also comes with Nuance Power PDF, which is an incredibly powerful and full-featured scanning tool and has some advanced workflow capabilities. As for the scanner itself -- it's really handy that it has a built-in battery so it's rechargable, and I've used it for a week without needing to recharge it. It's awesome that it's a duplex scanner so you don't have to flip the pages. It doesn't like to handle large stacks of paper or really thin paper like receipts or magazine pages. It also isn't lightning fast, but I don't expect it to be used for archiving libraries or anything quite that intense. Here's where it really lost a star for me. I would use this as a mobile professional, and capturing receipts is a very powerful feature of this device, but it has a real hard time feeding receipts. You have to align and insert them very carefully. Any dog-eared corners or wrinkles and you'll end up with a crumpled-up mess and a jammed scanner. It would be awesome if it had a receipt feeder. There's also a card feeder, but I haven't had a whole lot of luck using it. I can feed business cards through the normal document feeder just fine.

The literature I read said this scanner worked with the latest IOS. It will work--but not well and requires repeat calls to support. Make sure you have 64 bit Mac software or be prepared for lots of frustration. I'm sure the scanner is great with 32 bit configuration but Apple is or already has discontinued 32 bit. Buyer beware.
