    Have the ES-200 also, that's great for travel as it runs from my computer via USB, but this one, ES-400, is faster and can copy more pages. It requires power so not as portable. The software works very well. I have recommended this unit, and the ES-200, to friends already. The reason for this set of purchases has been the conversion of all the paper documents to electronic records. Working out very well.

    Worth every penny. I needed this because I had piles of papers in my file cabinet that did NOT need to be taking space. Also, just reduced clutter quite a bit. Afterward, I've been using it for recipes from magazines or boxes, or Hello Fresh cards. I've used it for receipts. Pretty much everything. It is SO FAST. Yeah, so worth it.

    Fast Duplex Scanner Works With Linux

    I use Linux for over 90% of my personal computing, so I was very pleased when Epson started making Linux compatible drivers and software available for several of their scanners. As a result, I've purchased several more Epson scanners (this ES-400, an ES-200 for more portability, and previously a DS-30.) In addition, the fast duplex scanning and long page support are huge pluses. While Linux software is available, it is not officially supported and the feature set seems smaller. However, I' glad to see the effort and am willing to support Epson by purchasing additional scanners.

    This is a great scanner for the purpose of scanning receipts and invoices. Set up was a little challenging. Make sure to follow the setup instruction exactly.
