I purchased this for a small business as well as for school work papers to be scanned in and submitted online. Is it super fast, scans double-sided in the same amount of time as single-sided, and was easy to set-up.

Wanted something fast and easy to use for my home office, and this definitely does the trick. And the quality of the scans is top notch.

Thanks to COVID-19, my husband and I have been working efficiently from home mostly in part to this little baby. This has been great for our home office. No issues so far! The quality of the scans is better than I anticipated. It was relatively easy connecting it to our Mac desktop. Of course, there is a power cord, but the coolest feature is the wireless connectivity. Our home office is a bit small so we had to move it further away from the computer than we originally wanted - and no issues with the wireless. We’re fans - and look forward to getting something similar if not bigger for my husband’s company office.

Was easy to set up - scans well and quickly - not as easy to e-mail - Working from home and I wanted to e-mail my scans to my work e-mail so they could be put to the appropriate folder when remoting in but I get an error if I try to e-mail immediately after scanning - I have to scan and save to my computer, then later open the saved scan and e-mail. I feel I should be able to e-mail immediately after scan but that doesn’t work. Also the help doesn’t show what the flashing error icons mean and no troubleshooting guide came with. Still I’m ok with it and not sorry I bought it but it’s the first scanner I bought so I have nothing to compare.

This is a fast auto-feed scanner which is very easy to use. Double-sided pages are done in one pass with outstanding quality. The software was easy to install.

    GOOD MACHINE

I had a NEAT scanner which I was using. The NEAT machine worked fine, but they changed the way the software worked and I wasn't as happy as before. The Epson machine was easy to install and also works flawlessly. I am even happier with the software than I was with the original NEAT software. Errors on my part are easier to correct, for instance. I use mixed paper sizes in most of my scans and have no problems. Copies are clear and a really big bonus (to me) is that the file size is WAY smaller than with the NEAT software.

Gotta be honest here; I originally bought this with the intention of returning it after I was done using it. Instead, I ended up finding it to VERY useful and just as easy to use. I use it for warranty paperwork, pay stubs, contracts and even receipts. Images come out super clean and colored papers have great quality. It's definitely something I didn't know I needed until I started using it.

This is my first sheet-fed duplex document scanner. Easy to set up for wireless operation (using a MacBook Pro laptop), perfectly reliable and very fast. I used it to scan five aircraft pilots manuals (300-500 double-sided color and B&W pages each) and over 1,100 double-sided flight worksheets with zero problems. Automatic detection of color/B&W is a real time-saver. Also scanned several real estate sale documents (legal size and longer). Once you get started, you will not believe the speed and the time saved.

Had a client who needed to sign everything in person by hand. Literally hundreds of pages.. and my all in one didnt cut it. This thing is sweet so far. Zip bang Zippiedy do da... its quick and worked on my receipts too. Real Estate is mostly digital now so I didnt think I needed one, but when you do need to scan, this is awesome... Saved me hours of scanning and organizing. So worth it! Carin from TopAgentinc

I should have researched this a little more before purchasing. I was under the assumption that it would scan directly to the cloud. It will - but you still need to use a computer. I’m trying to transition to a paperless life and scanning with my phone or flatbed was such a chore - so I wanted to make scanning easy. This device fits the bill, but I wasn’t terribly excited about having to use my computer. Additionally, the wifi connection as a little buggy and I had to power cycle it several times to get it to reconnect. I remedied that by connecting straight via USB. I ended up returning it and purchasing a Raven scanner (sadly not sold by Best Buy yet). For a little more, it interfaces directly with the cloud and I don’t need to use the computer - simple. You might also check out the Fujitsu ix1500 scansnap if you’re looking for a direct scan to the cloud. If you don’t mind the old fashioned connection to the computer - this thing scans fast, clearly, has reasonable software for document management, and is a great little device. Small footprint and handsome.

Needed a good quality document scanner at tax time. My tax preparation person is in California. I have been scanning and then emailing all my documents with a flat scanner which is very slow and tedious. With my new Epson ES-500W I can now do this in no time at all. I have used several Epson products for the past 30 years and have always been very satisfied with all of them.

This scanner is fantastic! I purchased it to auto-scan 4,000+ old family photos to digital copy. The quality is excellent, and the upload to google drive feature is helpful. The wifi connection works well and was easy to set up. There is a bit of a delay which can be a problem if scanning lots of documents and your computer goes to sleep, but if you're working while scanning everything works fine. At first, the scanned photo colors were terrible, but I found that in settings on my computer I could make some alterations so that they look identical to the hard copy. For mine, in advanced settings on the scanner app, I changed the brightness to 80, contrast to -50, and gamma to 2.2. Hopefully that's helpful to others! Additionally, you need to change the setting to grayscale for any black and white photos - if scanning in the color setting the contrast is terrible and the image is undecipherable.

The scanner was easy to set up and works perfectly. Allows you to give the scan a name and put it in any folder. You can also rotate any of the pages in the scan, automatically scans front and back. The paper feeder works perfectly and it will also straighten the pages if needed. I purchased two scanners for my business for $2500.00 each not knowing about this scanner...this one does everything the expensive one's do at a fraction of the cost!

This scanner has made my life so much easier in terms of document/efiling organization. With many 10 to 40 page documents to scan, the one-page-at-a-time feature on my printer was beyong time consuming. With the double-sided feature as well as the 30+ at a time pages capability, I can do the job in about a minute. Got rid of a lot of paper and now I can file it away right away. The wi fi feature did not work yet hence the 4 instead of 5 stars. I will definitely give it a 5 once I figure that out.

I bought this scanner to archive over 40 years of income taxes and other miscellaneous documents. The scan quality is excellent and it feeds everything from normal page-size documents down to receipts from stores. The wireless connectivity has been perfect. It's so nice to be able to locate the scanner in a convenient place and not be bound to having a USB cable connected to my laptop. I'm extremely pleased with this scanner. Plus, I got it on sale for $70 off.

I set this scanner up easily. Connected to wireless easily. Scanned easily. Then I turned it off for a week. Took 20 mins to get it to scan again. Don't know if this is how it is going to be every time I turn off. I only scan 2 or 3 times a month ... save up and scan all at once. The software seems good. Nice size. I would give it 5 stars if I trusted the wireless connection a little more.

I scan at least 15 to 20 documents a day for my job so I was looking for a dedicated scanner that I could use. The Epson ES-500 comes with a large amount of features but is very good at one 1 thing, scanning. The tray easily holds all 1 documents I put into it every single time without jamming. Another great features is the wireless function. I often work from throughout my house and having the ability to keep the scanner in a closet, out of sight is a fantastic feature. When folded down, the scanner is extremely compact and ligh. Overall, I am very happy with this scanner. One thing to note, this is a review for the Epson ES-500W Wireless Duplex Document Scanner that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.

We bought the scanner so that we could scan all of our old school notes and then get rid of the paper as well as scanning some three ring binder papers for faster reference. The scanner has done a great job. The quality of the scans is good, it scans very fast, and the rosin smartscan software is good with text recognition. Love it and well worth the investment.

Easy to setup, easy to use, fast, reliable, and with WiFi can be placed in a better location. Using it to scan dental charts and convert to paperless, so far works like a champ. I also have the 400, pretty much the same but it’s wired in so slightly more limiting. Overall, love both.
