Great tabloid scanner, print quality not much
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We bought this to print tabloid proof prints at home and to be able to scan tabloid size photos, etc. Scanner works well and has an auto document feeder for multiple pages. Printing is cheap because of bulk ink supply, but quality leaves much to be desired.

Superb Full featured Printer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had many printers over the years and this is without doubt the absolute best. It arrived well packaged with everything intact as one might expect. Setup was straightforward and in my case I chose Ethernet at first and eventually changed to wireless. I was quite happy that it retained all it's functionality and speed without the extra wire. I downloaded the latest software from Epson's site and it loaded with nary an error, at the end it asked to update the firmware and as wary of that as I am, I let it go. It was all automatic and it worked perfectly. I did then call tech support as I got a bit confused on the touch screen setup but they solved that quickly and professionally. It's nice to know that there is a team who really knows the printer - rather than someone who has to LOOK IT UP and maybe guess a bit. I was apprehensive about filling the ink and in the end it was as easy as it gets. The overall design of the ink setup makes it easy to fill, almost impossible to spill and oh so easy to look at the level. Loading paper of multiple sizes in the two supplied drawers was intuitive and easy, I like not having to remove one type and reset to do other types of printing. Add to that the fact that the drawers slide very easily and you have a good delivery system. Both the wireless and the wired Ethernet setups were as simple as it gets but now that I know the wireless is so easy and functional, I have to say that it is my recommended way. The touch screen is easily read and controlled, as is the windows software that also has a wide variety of presets or customer preference settings available. While this is a heavier printer (55 lbs.) it is steady and quiet when mounted on my cabinet The front panel inputs are a nice addition that I have already used and will use in the future. Last but far from least, the output is crisp vivid color. I actually had to lighten the color density a bit which will save ink, the quality was that good. Black and white even at fast speed is just as sharp and crisp. Output speed surprised me it is so fast. My other office printer is just over a year old and seems dead slow in comparison. I needed more functionality and figured to keep both. My new plan is to use this Epson exclusively. If this sounds like it's too good to be true - then think again because this is all true. Simply put, this is thee single best multi-function unit that I have ever come across and I am oh so happy it is here.

Eco-friendly, tons of features, good image quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Epson ET-16500 is a nice printer with tons of business oriented features such as double side scan and print, dual paper tray, large size prints, network and WiFI capable, etc. What makes this printer apart is the refill system that I really like as it is environmental friendly where you can refill the toner when they ran out instead of replacing the whole ink cartridge. The idea reminded me a lot of what Canon has done with their refill system. While my first unit is DOA because of the rough handing by the shipping company, the second unit works without any issue. However, I want to comment on how the printer is packed. I feel that for such a large printer, Epson should package it better as the box that the printer ships in is a bit soft and thin and the Styrofoam used to secure the printer is not too sturdy to secure it during the shipping. Luckily, setting up the printer is fairly easy. Though I did have issue regarding to the refill system. I feel that Epson’s choice of the refill bottle could have been better designed. It is quite difficult not to make a mess when you are flip over the refill bottle to squirt the ink into the ink tank. I would prefer Epson to have angled squirt bottle to prevent any spill. Additionally, the ink tank level indicator is a bit hard to read, especially for a dark ink such as black which could make it easy to spill when comes to refill inks. The location of the ink tank is also slightly inconvenient if you have the printer placed in a tight area. Also, I am not a big fan of the cap of the tank as it is just rubber stopper that I am worried that will cause ink spill if I ever move the printer, not to mention the fact it does not completely seal the ink tank which could mean ink being evaporated. Luckily, the ink reservoir looks large to hold plenty of ink. Though it is hard to judge the actual number of prints that the large amount of ink can print in order to calculate the per page cost until it is time to buy the replacement ink. Epson rated the ink to be 6,000 pages and the replacement ink is relative cheap at $20 The initial setup process is a bit longer than expected since the printer needs to inject the ink into the printer and you have to make sure that the ink level in the tank is more than ½ or it will not complete. Being it a network printer, I set the printer up with wired network via the Ethernet port to my router as oppose to connect to a PC and also have downloaded Epson iPrint on my Android phone and both worked fine without any issue. I did end up having to install Epson’s software onto a PC in order to use some of the printer’s function. Luckily Epson’s software is not too bloated and the UI is fairly easy to use (though it does feel a bit dated). The included touch screen control panel is nice since I can use it to configure the printer. Though, I feel that it is not the most functional and not the easiest to use. It lacks the ability to sync shortcuts created from the web UI. Also, accessing shortcuts requires multiple press instead of just a single press. Copying and scanning also requires multiple taps as oppose to just one button or tap that you found on some other similar all-in-one. I really wish Epson provides the ability to customize the home screen with a couple of quick shortcuts that offers one tap to complete the programmed tasks. Additionally, it would be nice to able to have the ability to set the physical button to just scan and copy as oppose of the need to touch the screen to select scan and then press the physical button to scan. However, this brings to my other complain with the printer. Given to the fact that the printer is meant for business environment, it really should have greater ability to use the various features of the printer without the need of a single PC connect to it. For example, the printer lacks Scan to FTP or Scan to Network, a critical feature that many network printer supports. I use this feature often to save documents to my NAS and not able to do so with the printer is rather disappointed given to its price. I did found a work-around by mapping a network folder on my windows 10 system and use the scan software to scan to that folder. It is not an ideal solution as it means that printer is tied to the PC and need to use the software in order to scan to the folder. This is something that I hope Epson could include in the future update. Another minor complain with the printer is the scan paper tray and document feeder does not holds much paper (about 50 sheets only), which is a bit too small in my opinion for a business oriented printer. Minor complaint aside, the scan speed and the print speed is very fast (one sided). Image quality of the prints is also good. While I did not print a lot of photos, the color images I printed looks good to me. Black and white documents and texts looks sharp and clean. The ink dried very fast and there is leak or wet spots despite its quick print speed. Ultimately, the printer offers great features and image quality. Minus a few small complaints with the refill system and the lack of a few features, I think for a medium and large office that does a lot of printing, the printer would be a great purchase as you would be saving some money with the refill system and also not too worry that you constantly have to replace the ink since the included ink can last quite long. This is a review for the Epson ET-16500 EcoTank that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.

Multi Function Tank
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a review for the Epson ET-16500 EcoTank that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. I like the concept of the Eco Tank. Using a few bottles of ink for 11,000 pages v. several large and expensive ink cartridges destined for a land fill is great! This together with multiple functions is an ideal option for a small business user like myself. Set up was fine. I am used to laser printers and found this took longer due to the ink (calibration?). Wireless connection did not go well during setup. Overall, the out of box experience was reasonable. I don't know if the production units are packaged differently - the packaging I received is not sufficient for shipping the product safely. The Eco Tank is big and this makes sense for the larger format printing capability. If you do not need to print in large scale and prefer a smaller form factor, you may find a better option. The touch screen display is also big and this is good... it is easy to select options and the user interface is logical. The size of the Eco Tank also provides room for multiple sizing guides in the paper trays. I found the printing to be pretty slow and this works fine for me but may be an encumbrance in some work environments.

Not worth the money you pay for it
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased my printer in April of 2018. I use the black ink more than I use the color. When I decided to use the color, it wouldn't work because I don't use it on regular basis. I had to put down a large deposit so they could send me a new one. The new one lasted 6 months, the same thing happened again. I was told it was out of warranty because they go back to the original purchase date, even if the printer they provided was a new one. Now, I have to replace a $1000 printer or pay out of pocket to have it fixed. I could have purchased a cheaper printer which could have lasted longer. Epson will never get anymore of my money.

NOT PLEASED!!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When we received this printer FIRST they sent us a refurbished printer (which we DID NOT order) SECOND it was not in the original box it was taped up and covered with a plastic bag and THIRD it was so scratched up that I was very shocked that it was packaged the way it was. For almost a $1000.00 printer you would think Best Buy could make sure this product would be delivered in its original brand new box. Oh, and DO NOT try to contact customer service NO HELP AT ALL!! Needless to say we have returned the item and order from Amazon.

Epson EcoTank ET-16500 is a beast!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Epson EcoTank ET-16500 is a beast printer. It satisfies all of your document management requirements, especially if you are a small business owner. It also includes a fax machine, copier, and scanner. I use mine to create promotional materials, point of sale literature, and sales brochures. All of your promotional marketing needs are met with this printer. It is a networked printer, that is easily connected to both wired and wireless networks. Download the Epson phone app, and, you can also print from either your android or iphone. You can also print over the internet by establishing an email address that is specific to the printer. Printer comes with two paper trays that are front loadable, that can also handle double sided printing. The front trays handle both 8 ½ x 11 inch and 11 x 14 inch legal paper. The back tray has a feeder slot that can handle 13x9 inch paper. I find this configuration much easier than having to change the trays when you want to print a different sized document. If you want an eye delectable treat, print some photos on photo paper and watch the results. They are spectacular to say the least. One of the main features is the Eco-Tank Ink system. The unit comes with four ink tanks (Black, Yellow, Cyan and Red). Once filled, the ink lasts for a year. However upon unpacking the unit, there are two sets of ink provided. That gives you value in and of itself, with two years of ink. No more running out for ink runs and it is safer for the environment, because you are eliminating ink cartridge landfill disposal waste Set up is easy, almost as fast as 1-2-3. I am completely wireless, so I did not have use for the Ethernet cable connection. Waited for the ink to power cycle through for 20 minutes of priming, and I was ready to print. The entire process of from unpacking, ink filling, to printing took all of 45 minutes. This is an expensive printer, but it is so economical that you are actually saving money in the long run. The quality of the print, ability to print for up to two years using the eco tank system, the multiple features (fax, scan, print, copy), and high quality results make this a winner and cost effective. I received the Epson ET-16500 EcoTank as part of a Beta sponsored event in exchange for the purpose of review. Opinions are 100% my own.

big disappointment
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.bought this printer with much anticipation of not having to buy those small cartridges all the time. The tank concept is great and the machine appears well made. the only problem was the print heads, would not align or print all the dots, no amount of cleaning or alignment would make this thing print. Finally had to return it and get something else.

Personal use to Small Business Printer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.“This is a review for the Epson ET-16500 EcoTank that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review”. I was a bit skeptical about this printer at first because it appeared to be a lot larger and heavier than I had hoped for. It turns out that for the volume it’s capable of doing, it’s fairly light and you can find a spot in your home office for it. So let’s get into it. Let’s talk installation! With the exception of the blue tape you have to remove inside the equipment, it was virtually installed. I love the process used to fill the inkers. Unlike traditional printers you don’t install a cartridge or ink tank. The tanks themselves are located on the side of the machine all by themselves which makes for easy and convenient filling. Yes filling, you simply pop the top on the ink tank and pop the top on the refill canister and pour the ink in. It’s so simple and surprisingly clean! No fuss no mess! Now, let’s talk about the setup for printing. I’m a huge Wi-Fi user, and I love printing photos directly from my phone. The Wi-Fi Setup was easy and I quickly tethered my phone to the printer. To make matters even more interesting, my mobile network is not the fastest in the land. I was very surprised at how quickly the response was when I sent the print jobs from my phone via the Epson IPrint App! So what about speed and quality? Well, I have to be honest the speed was not that impressive I was expecting a much faster print. The quality met the minimum requirements but the photos did not quite come out as bold as I would have liked. Again, the quality did meet minimum requirements for my needs. Overall, on a scale from 1-10, I’d give this printer about a 7. It can handle a large volume; I can’t see myself running out of ink anytime soon as it relates to standard home printing needs. Furthermore, I believe it would be great for small business needs as well.
