Great printer, OK scanner, but where's the ink?

I've been using Canon printers in my home office for several years. I wasn't very pleased with the last one I had, so when it gave up the ghost, I decided to try a different brand. I bought the Epson WF-3720 based on the reviews here. Setup of the printer was easy. I had no problems connecting it to my home WIFI network. I was quite surprised with the quality of printed text. I print a lot of spreadsheets using small fonts and they look crisp. It prints the columns straight (my last printer produced crooked columns.) Most of my printing is grayscale, but the color text I have produced looks good, too. I have not used it for printing graphics. The output "tray" is not really a tray. It's a 3x5-inch piece of plastic that you slide out, with another 3x4-inch wide piece of plastic that folds out from the first piece. Because I usually print on legal paper (which is 14 inches long), I thought there was no way that little "tray" would hold it. I was surprised, but it holds at least 35 sheets, even though the pages look precariously perched on it. A minor complaint - if you load a different sized paper in the printer, then try to print your document, you have to physically go to the printer to respond to a prompt that a different sized paper is being requested and then push a button on the printer to let it know you've installed the paper. It's an extra step in the process. I suppose I could just send the document to the printer before I load the paper, but that would require changing a long-ingrained habit. (Yikes!) The scanner does a decent job, but I sometimes have to scan documents that were printed from poor quality microfilm images, with black pages and white text. The scanner did not handle those as well as my previous printer's scanner. The text is not sharp enough. I assume (and hope) that the ink cartridges that came with the printer were filled with just enough ink to print 100-200 pages of text, because after 1 day of heavy use I was out of black ink, with low-ink warnings on two colors. I had ordered ink from Amazon but it was not in stock and would take a few days to arrive. My local Best Buy did not have any black ink. I had to go to 5 more stores before I could find any. I was not aware that it would be so difficult to find ink. It's hard to find it in stock on the Epson website and Best Buy's website promises delivery to the store within 6 days. I have to make sure I have a backup supply on hand. Since I rely heavily on my printer for work, I've had to spend more money up front to keep enough ink on hand. If I had not needed the printer in a hurry, I would have spent more time researching printers. The next time I need a printer, I'll have to remember to check on availability of ink. I think it's an excellent printer for the price, but the difficulty in finding ink has dampened my enthusiasm for it. Perhaps an Epson Eco-Tank printer would have been better for me. They're more expensive up front but you get a lot of ink.

I have never owned a wifi printer, so this was new to me. I was hesitant to set it up because it looked a little intimidating out of the box. I was pleasantly surprised that setup was a breeze. I didn't even need the paper manual because the screen literally led me through setup, complete with animated instructions. Connecting to wifi took a mere seconds. I figured getting it paired with my phone would be complicated, but again my husband and I got it connected and printing from our phones right away (he has Apple, I have Android). I like the cubed design as well. Everything folds in and tucks away nice and streamlined when not in use, so as not to take up a lot of space (or in my home, so no extra doors or extensions get caught on clothes and people walking by). The touchscreen is easy to see and responds well to touch commands, and I like that it can tilt upwards for easier viewing at any angle. Loading the cartridges and paper was much simpler on this machine than on previous ones I've owned. This machine, even though it has a lot to it, was really easy to get up and running and wasn't as complicated as it looked at first glance. The print quality is definitely crisp and clear. I like that you can easily adjust the density of the print from the screen. I copied several pages that were written in marker and the prints, even on the lowest density, looked just like the handwritten one! We tried printing photos from our phone, just onto regular copier paper, and it was super simple and the photo quality was very nice, crisp, and clear...and it printed quickly! I can't wait to see a higher quality print on photo paper, but I don't have any on hand. All in all, this machine is pretty impressive! I never thought that you could get all the bells and whistles at this price point and still get a quality, premium machine, but I honestly feel this will replace my previous machine that I have a strong, over-a-decade-long attachment to. :) I print a lot of photos and artwork, as well as a lot of text documents, so this is going to be fantastic for me! We don't fax often, but that is also a nice function to have, just in case! All said, I did give this machine 5 stars. I truly feel that this is an amazing machine and I am really excited to have it. My only issue thus far is that there is no memory card slot. There is a USB memory slot, which is great, but it wouldn't recognize my phone or my portable drive, so I'm assuming it would only take a typical USB stick, and I don't use those. Not a dealbreaker, but a nice function to have when you print a lot of pictures from a camera's memory card. I will play around with that function more and figure out the best way to transfer, maybe through the cloud? In any case, this is a great machine and I would definitely recommend it! I'm impressed! “This is a review for the Epson WorkForce Pro WF-3720 All-in-One Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.”

Initial Setup: This is my first Epson printer I have owned and if this is the standards Epson carries on all their printers it won’t be the last. From start to finish the setup process was a little long but it did have a firmware update to complete and that took a majority of the 20 minutes of setup to complete. The actual initial setup was a breeze to walk through. Installing the ink into the printer was also very easy and just clicked into place. Unlike other brands I have had in the past that you must tilt the cartridge one way then snap in and push up, the straight vertical design of the cartridge tray and ink setup was a lot more convenient. The Epson software is also easy to install from disk or simply by searching the model number online and downloading the most up to date version of the software directly from Epson’s website. The software wizard for setup was easy to step through and the choices were clear. Wifi setup of the printer was also very easy to setup. Once the printer was on and running I touched the wifi icon at the top of the screen. Touched my router name and entered the password. Design: The design of the printer is very user friendly and sleek to the eye. All matte black finish with clear and legible LCD touch screen. Paper feeder at the top also allows to be lifted slightly to allow for larger hands to reach in and remove the previous scanned document and clear any jams. The paper tray holds an antiquate amount of paper for my daily use and has a neat feature that allows the tray to pull itself back in once its approximately 95 percent inserted. I could also see this being an issue if your used to pushing a paper tray in all the way as it feels it is not correctly aligned at first. Use: Using the printer is very simple on a Windows PC or a Mac PC. In Windows 10, my current installation, I was very happy that it was auto detected once connected to my wireless router and the driver installed automatically. To use the “Scan To” function of the touch screen it will require that you install the full software. Printing on the unit is very clear, no alignment needed like in the older printers and the color is very vibrant. Full page document of this review size at 11PT font took 5.81 seconds to print. That is from the printer being at idle to completion which is very fast for a smaller office printer. The touchscreen on the printer is also extremely easy to touch compared to others where it feels you have to push through the printer to get it to recognize your touch. Overall the printer is a great design, very functional, and easy to use. The printing feature and scanning are faster than any printer I have used or tested of this size. On a scale of happiness from 1 to 10 I would rate this printer at a solid 10. Great job Epson!!! High quality printing, versatile features

The new Epson WorkForce Pro InkJet All-in-One printers are designed to produce laser-sharp text and professional-quality color documents at fast speeds – and are said to be more economical to operate compared to color laser printers in the same price range. The WorkForce Pro WF-3720 ($149 list) that I reviewed is the most compact unit in the group at 9.8-inches high and weighing about 20 pounds. It’s suitable for home use and small offices. Still, there’s nothing small in the printer’s features. Black and white printing is rated at 20 pages per minute (10 ppm in color). Part of the printer’s height is consumed by a 250-sheet paper drawer that holds letter or legal-size sheets – and the 35-page auto document feeder on top handles two-sided copying (two-sided printing is automatic). Standard-capacity black ink cartridges are rated at 350 pages (300 pages color) and the high-capacity XL ones yield 1,100 pages for black ink and 950 pages in CMY. I didn’t run out of ink during the testing, but after looking at the remaining-ink gauges I believe Epson’s estimates are accurate. Setting up the WF-3720 was uneventful and fast. After inserting the four cartridges, the printer takes about five minutes to initialize. Other basic steps such as setting time and fax options are done through the intuitive 2.7-inch color touch screen. I used the printer connected via Wired Ethernet; other options are high-speed USB, Wireless, Wi-Fi Direct, and NFC. In my case, the printer automatically picked up an unused IP address. Then, when I ran the setup software on my Windows 10 PC, the printer was seen on the network, drivers installed, and automatically added to the list of available printers. Since the printer was relatively new, the setup routine also automatically downloaded and installed revised firmware. The Epson Connect Software (optionally installed during setup) includes many ways to print and scan. For example, you can email files to a unique email address for printing. Or you might scan files to an online cloud account (Dropbox, Evernote, Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive). I tested with my Google Drive and OneDrive accounts without any problems. For mobile users, the printer supports Apple AirPrint and Google Cloud Print. During testing, I printed from my iPad and iPhone through my Wi-Fi network; under iOS 10, the WF-3720 appeared as a printer option and various document types printed without any issue. For day-to-day use, I typically printed from a Windows application, such as Microsoft Outlook or PowerPoint; the Print dialog give you easy control over all the printer’s properties, including quality, color, and paper type. The print quality and speed certainly matched my Dell desktop laser. For a more demanding test, I printed some color images from Adobe Photoshop on Epson glossy photo paper. I believe for all but the most discerning eye, the photo print quality matched my seven-ink color photo printer. I was especially pleased that I got those great results by allowing the printer to manage the colors – there was no need to create a custom printer color profile. There are many other features that probably won’t surface until you need them, such as scanning to or printing directly from an attached USB drive – or a litany of Fax options (60 speed dial numbers, Fax to email). Overall, using the Epson WorkForce Pro WF-3720 was trouble-free. The features, hardware engineering, and software exhibited a lot of thought. The only thing to be mindful of, as with any inkjet printer, is the cost of consumables. Currently, the high-capacity set retails for about $72 and the individual standard ones are $13. The prices may be justified because of the special pigment ink Epson uses along with the print heads that release various-size very small ink droplets – to achieve the quality this printer delivers. When I received the printer, I had to get my dad to bring it inside, because it was a little heavy. I also had to get him to take it out of the box for me. Once it was out of the box, I grabbed the quick start guide and started reading the instructions. I removed all the blue tape from the printer. There was a lot of blue tape, but I'm happy that there was a lot of blue tape, because that lets me know that all the pieces that are susceptible to breaking were being protected. After I finished doing all of that, I went to install the ink cartridges. I didn't know where the ink cartridges were when I first took the printer out of the box, but I finally found them after I moved the bag that the power cord was in, the ink cartridges were under the sheet fed scanner tray. Maybe they need to be moved next to the power cord bag so they're more visible. I liked that each cartridge was packaged in a sturdy plastic bag that ink couldn't seep out of. I placed the ink cartridges in the printer without any problems. I like that I didn't have to apply any pressure to them like I did with the ink in my Brother printer. The ink installed successfully and then I put the paper in the paper try and that was super easy to do. I skipped setting up the fax, because I didn't want to fuss with having to unhook the phone line from my Brother printer and connecting it to the Epson printer. I will definitely set up the fax at a later time. The last part of the printer installation is the longest part, which is the software installation. I liked that the printer came with a cd, but if you still have software updates during the cd software installation, then maybe just getting the software directly from the website would be best. If you don't have access to internet while installing the printer, then the software cd does come in handy. It took me some minutes to install the software and sign up for this and register for that, but after I got through that everything was working well. I didn't have to touch the manual that came with the printer one time, the quick start guide told me everything I needed to know about installing the printer and that was a good thing. I printed some documents out and the print quality was excellent, it reminded me of when I saw HP LaserJet or Tektronix Phaser prints for the first time and how crisp and clear they looked. I'm really happy to have a printer that can produce that quality of prints. I think I'm going to love Epson Connect. I tested it out and sent an email to my printer and it actually printed it out. I'm going to give family members my printer's email addres so they can print out stuff on my printer and pick it up when they come by to visit. The only thing I think could be changed on the printer is the size of lcd panel. I think it would make things a little bit easier to click on, if the screen was a little bit bigger, which would make the buttons a little bigger on the screen. I thought I had to firmly push on the lcd panel like I do with my Brother printer and I kept wondering why the buttons I pushed wasn't registering with the printer and then I realized that I didn't have to do that, just a light touch to each button does the trick. I could go on and on about this printer, but I hope I gave you all enough information about this printer that will make your decision to buy this printer a little easier. This is a sturdy inkjet printer that will give you laser quality prints that will make you smile and make you feel confident that you're giving someone a print or document that looks great every time. I would recommend my family members, friends, and anyone to check it out. Epson makes great printers and this is another solid member of the family. Setting up the printer was as simple as following the on screen prompts. The wizard walked me through initializing the printer, setting up a wireless connection and setting up wifi-direct. I had never used the wifi-direct function from my Android phone before and it was surprisingly easy to do. I have always had problems printing from my phone before with an previous printer I had but this printer made it simple. I added the SSID of the printer to my phone, input the passcode and it connected right away. Sending documents from both a tablet and my phone worked right out of the box. I printed a page form a .pdf and it rendered the document perfectly. Next I took a picture of a knick-knack my wife had in the study and it printed in color from my phone. The color was well rendered and matched the item well. Most color printers tend to wash out the colors to save color ink but this printer handled the picture like a champ. I used this for my home office printing for most of a week and didn't have a single paper jam or hiccup. The print for documents renders black and white well and grey-scale documents had good color definition. I estimate that I printed close to 100 pages of print and the last page was just as good as the first. I haven't had this long enough to gauge the amount of ink that will be used per cartridge but the ability to change just the black cartridge without having to buy a full set is a great feature. Overall I was really impressed with the features and abilities of this printer. It handled everything I sent to it perfectly and worked flawlessly for my needs. I have attached pictures of print examples, hopefully they will show as well online as they did in my study. Great MFP

Summary: The installation of this printer was quick and easy. The printer was packaged in a way that made it extremely easy to remove from box- whoever thought of the plastic bag with the handles to lift the printer out of the box deserves a raise. The printer takes up much less desk space than other MFP devices. Printing was tested on Windows 10 and i0S and both went off without any issues. There were no issues installing the drivers or software needed to make the printer function. This printer is faster than most MFPs and has an overall excellent print quality. I am a huge fan of the fact that you can email documents directly to the printer with zero delay, regardless of where you are at (you do not have to be home or attached to the same wireless network). In my honest opinion, this is a great option for a MFP and I would recommend it to others. Setup: As mentioned above, the MFP was easy to remove from the box as it comes pre-packaged in a plastic bag with handles, making it easy to lift out of the box. The entire printer is secured in the box, so be prepared to spend some time unpackaging and untaping everything, but it will be worth it in the long run when you have a good quality printer that works well. Menus are easy to walk through and set preferences on everything. As I said, just be prepared to spend some time getting everything set up because although it is easy, it is a long, slow and drawn out process to set up. Scan: Scanning was easy. You have the option to scan using the ADF or the flatbed. However, you are unable to scan duplex from the ADF like you can when printing from there. You have multiple dpi options in driver settings. Overall, the scanning feature functions like you would expect and hope a MFP scanner to function. Print: I was shocked by how fast this printer actually prints. There were no smeared ink spots- only clear, concise typeset. You also have the ability to print duplex or single-sided. I also like the fact that I can have this printer set up on my work computer and can access it, even while I’m connected to my VPN. Previously, I have not had much success in attaching to outside printers while connected to the VPN, so this was a plus in my book. I haven’t printed any photos yet, but given the quality of the images, I can’t wait to give that a try soon. I love the fact that this printer is a wifi printer and that I didn’t have to do anything to set it up on my phone- it was readily available to print without me having to download anything extra on my phone. Final Thoughts: This printer is an excellent printer for the money and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a cheaper, high quality MFP for home use. At this point, I couldn’t be happier to own this product- its great thus far. I first would like to say that this is only my second Wi-Fi Printer Summary: Out of the box this printer looks awesome and is completely black and fits into any home perfectly. This printer comes packaged in its box in a way that it is so easy to remove from the box. inside the box are Styrofoam pieces on both sides and the printer itself is in a plastic bag that has handles that. you lift out after removing the Styrofoam. when you take the printer f the plastic bag you will find everything you need ( instructions, and Ink) under the fax tray. I was really surprised by how small this printer is and the size of it compared to my HP Photosmart that's over 3 years old. I Have tested the printing of this device on my Windows 7 laptop, Windows 10 Desktop, and multiple Ios devices ( iphone7, iPhone 6, Ipad Mini 4,) Setup: I didn't really have any issues setting this printer up. its easy to remove from the box because of the handles on the plastic bag, then all you have to do is remove all the little blue plastic tape strips that secure all the many parts. lastly all you have to do is plug it in and go. The setup process to me was relatively painless I set it up and updated the Firmware in about 10 minutes from my iPhone the touchscreen is so simple and the navigation and menus are so easy to customize. the only feature that I have not setup is the fax option because really to be honest who use the fax feature anymore? Print: Printing on this printer is actually pretty fast compared to other printers I use throughout my job. I was surprised by how clean this printer prints without smears. I love having the option to print one sided or duplex have already started printing out photos and they look amazing. I can not wait to get back to printing with this device. I also love how easy it is to print from my iPhone 7 I wasn't required to download or install anything I only had to confirm some information in my icloud account and Wi-Fi settings Closing: overall this is a really nice printer and looks nice. im really happy with how easy it is to use and setup. I feel that this printer is worth the price. I love the fact that being wireless I have the capabilities to print of my business reports while im still at work working on my sales floor and can have everything I need waiting for me in my home office before I get home without being on the same network. This printer has many great features such as its own email address, Google Cloud Print, and Epson connect services. im really exicted to use this printer somemore and see what it can handle.with school about to start. “This is a review for the Epson WorkForce Pro WF-3720 All-in-One Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review

Good AIO Printer for any Home or Small Business

I haven't had a home scanner/printer/all-in-one for quite some time (last one came with my Dell computer in 2004, so technology has certainly advanced since then). I have had this AIO for about 2 weeks, and have used it a several times so far. It may sound a little silly, but the packaging was excellent--the box had the usual corner/side styrofoam protection on top, but the printer itself was contained in a plastic bag with handles, which made removing it from the box by myself simple and easy to move to its final setup location. Setup was fairly simple. Plug it in to power, and power on. Installing the ink cartridges is simple enough, though the included cartridges do not appear to hold much ink. The touchscreen made connecting to my wireless network easy. From there I was able to quickly adjust settings from the touchscreen, as well as from a phone or computer by dialing into the local IP address. This whole process was fairly intuitive and easy. The WF-3720 has built in access to Epson and Google's cloud print services. The process of activating these was less simple, but I figured it out fairly quickly. Google Cloud Print appeared to need a laptop or desktop to set up correctly, and not a cell phone. Once that was done, however, it was a snap to print from my phone or laptop to the printer, no matter where in the world I had a signal. I recently was able to send a file from my phone to print, while I was still at work. The printer was offline, but as soon as I turned it back on, out came the file. Similar to Google Cloud Print is Epson's own cloud service, which auto printed instructions to assist with set up, and then printed a confirmation when completed. Among other things, this creates an email address specifically for the printer to which files may be emailed. Print Quality for black and white is excellent. Text is crisp. Printing is incredibly quick. If you don't extend the output tray, the paper will fly partway across the room! Print quality for making an 8x10 photo output was at best fair, and not impressive, though I used only regular paper. It may produce better photo output under different circumstances, but I have not checked this yet. Scanner function was easy to use and send images to my computer. I have not yet tried the included scanner software from Epson, however. Overall, the Workforce Pro WF-3720 is a great device, that works well, and does it easily without much fuss from the user. I would recommend this all-in-one device for most home or small business users. Super easy to install/setup/use all-in-one printer

I know it looks like just a simple wireless all-in-one printing device, but sometimes the things that work simply - are the best! That is what I like about the Epson WF-2760 ($149 list). It.Just.Works – Every feature/function works just as described. I think Epson learned from their past all-in-one printing devices and software they produced and just wanted to make things work right out of the box! Setting up the WF-3720 was the easiest printer (multi-function device) I have ever setup (and I have set up quite a number of devices over the years)! I had no problems (it even upgraded BEFORE the first install - the best feature I have seen), they even made it was fast removing it out of the box. Next, I removed the blue tape (shipping) tabs, installed the ink cartridges, connected to my network and plugged in the AC cord. Then the printer took about five minutes to initialize. The other quick steps, like setting the time and fax options are done through the color touch screen. I connected the printer by wired Ethernet; there are other options (high-speed USB, Wi-Fi, and NFC). The printer picked an IP address and then I ran the setup software on my Windows 7 PC. The setup automatically downloaded and installed revised firmware and installed the software. No headaches - I simply love it! The Epson Connect Software (which is an optional install during setup) gives you many ways to print and scan! For example, just like office environments with the big MFD (Multi-Function-Device), you can scan to an email (this takes extra time to setup your email server) - a nice feature to use while at the printer/scanner. Or you can scan files to a cloud account (Dropbox, Evernote, Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive). I tested with my Google Drive account without any problem. For mobile users, the printer supports Apple AirPrint and Google Cloud Print. During testing, I printed from my wife's iPad and iPhone (under iOS 10) and on my Android phone all through my Wi-Fi network; the WF-3720 appeared as a printer option and various document types printed without any issue. There are other features that I probably won't check out until I need them, like scanning to or printing directly from an attached USB drive. All I can say is that setting up and using the Epson WorkForce Pro WF-3720 was trouble-free. I've seen that the WF-3720 now can be found for much less than the list price, making it a great value. I repeated the setup on two other laptops (one was Windows 10) - none had problems and was fast! Epson Workforce WF3720

Epson WF3720 is a compact and versatile piece of equipment. It can operate as a scanner, printer, copier and fax and with a slimmer design than the WF 3540, that I currently own, takes up much less space. It does have an USB port so you can print directly. But to decrease space it no longer offers other import slots. The WF-3720 no longer offers the SD and Micro SD features of previous models, so If these are something you are needing you may have to purchase USB adapter for SD/ Micro SD cards but these are very cheap now. The space saving design also mean It has only one paper drawer tray, which is not a big deal for most but took some getting used to if you are used to having more than one paper choice without getting up and swapping it out. However even though I have to manual switch paper the Epson WF3720 came with several features that were not previously available on my older model so I can better chose the correct paper and even save template favorite options to save time, Swapping paper is way faster than reselecting all the printing features for project. The Epson WF 3720 was easy to operate right out of the box. It’s the touch screen controls are easy to navigate and very user friendly. The print time is very fast and copies with the WF-3720 are lightning fast compared to the WF-3540 or any of the printers in my office at work. The quality of the printing and copying features was not compromised by the speed, and I had no trouble printing images or documents. I like that it is Wi-Fi enabled and that all I needed was a place to plug it in. So I can put it where it is convenient, and out the way. There are not short cords that mean I have to put it on the desk taking up all my space or to purchase a longer cord that is an eye sore (and sometimes a tripping risk). I am very pleased that The Epson WF-3720 has individual ink cartridges for each color. This means I am not wasting the ink and only replacing what I need, when I need it. Saving money is always a plus. Keeping it working like brand new is also super easy just follow the on screen prompts. I am also very pleased to note the quiet and mute options so if you do not want to disturb others nearby with every click and beep, you can turn the sound off easily. Over all this is a very good product and I would definitely recommend it. Great quality easy to use and very quick, all the things I look for in my all in one printer, fax, copy and scan device. The Epson WF-3720 All-In-One device seems to be a well-though-out product for the small office/home office environment. After a quick read throught the User's Manual, it connected to my wifi network with no problem with default settings. The touchscreen control panel on the printer is very responsive and requires only a light touch, and it was a pleasure to use after living with the clumsy buttons and display on my old home printer. The control panel has an adjustable viewing angle, which is quite convenient. The driver and software had to be downloaded from the Epson website, and installed on my Windows 10 laptop with no problems. Test files printed quickly and looked good. A friend and I were pleasantly surprised how easy it was to print from our mobile phones. My Nexus 6P (with latest version of Android) required the Epson Print Enabler from Android Play Store (free download), but her iPhone 6 required no additional software. She said, "Oh my gosh, it's so easy!" Scanning on the device wirelessly was a breeze from my laptop. The Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) is a great scanning feature which allows up to 35 pages to be stacked on in its tray. I was able to scan a 7 page document containing text and images in ~65 seconds (including the time to transfer the pdf file to my laptop). Other features that make sense for businesses include the ability to scan documents and send via email and can it be done directly from the control panel (doesn't require a PC). It has an internal contact list that holds 100 entries, and entries may be quickly entered via the printer web interface or imported from a Windows Address Book. Email groups may also be created for sending the scanned documents to multiple recipients. Scans may be sent to FTP addresses or SMB (Windows) shared disks. Internet printing can be accomplished via Google Cloud Print services and Epson Connect Services. Epson Connect Services allows a document to be sent to the printer's email address. Other features include the ability to send administrator notifications to different email addresses for different events (paper out, paper jam, out of ink, etc), and disabling the printer's USB and memory card slot. Overall Good Printer

This Review is for the Epson WorkForce Pro WF-3720 that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. The WorkForce Pro WT-3720 is a very good all in one. I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly it prints. I also have a Dell C1660w LED laser jet and I must say that the speed is comparable. I do run an 802.11AC WiFi network in my home and I was concerned about connection issues since all my devices are connected to the 5 GHz network but the printer resides on the 2.4 GHz network. Fortunately, I did not run into any issues with the network, and I am able to print from all my devices. There is a little delay when printing wirelessly. I believe being on different networks is what causes that delay. Devices tested: Windows 7 PC, Surface Tablet (8.1RT), Nexus 7 Tablet, iPhone 6 and Samsung Galaxy S7. The scanner/copier functions work amazing!!! I was shocked at the resolution and the easy to use interface. The scanning function can achieve clarity of up to 1200 DPI. The professional printer we use at my job can only go up to 600!!! Software: I must say hats off to Epson. The software installed smoothly and there was minimal bloatware. The interfaces show a good amount of thought. I was very pleased with this. Setup was a breeze and trouble-free. Even updating the firmware didn’t take long. Not much to say here since it was so uneventful. Overall, this printer is great!! I do believe updating it to an AC standard would make the printer a truly 5 Star printer. The prints are sharp, but have a tiny bit of bleed. Nothing crazy and certainly could have been due to the paper quality. I wish I could give .5 stars because my true rating would come in at a 4.5/5.

Epson Workforce Pro W 3720 a great printer

The Epson Workforce Pro W 3720 is yet another great product from their line of printers. The impressive feature is the mobile and cloud printing and scanning feature. The affordable cost and features makes it an attractive purchase for small offices and homes in need of a multi-functional device. The set up is quick and easy. The image quality for scans is great and the quality of prints for both option (Black and white as well as color) is good. The printer barely took five minutes to start after the cartridges were inserted. The 2.7 inch color touch screen is intuitive. It makes setting up times and fax options a breeze. I had to push the LCD on my old printer too hard and many time but this ones touch sensitivity is excellent .The printer comes with a manual but the screen instructions are enough to set up. The photo print quality is very crisp and clear. The printing and scanning is faster than any standard printer I have ever used. The printer looks elegant. The paper feeder at the top can be lifted and one can reach inside and remove documents or in case of a jam. The paper tray is spacious enough (holds 250 sheets) for small business usage and households. The printer allows prints from tablets and phones too. The high-speed USB port offers a standard connection to your computer. The printer also allows you to scan documents in up to 1200 x 1200 dpi optical resolution reproducing exact colors and large documents. The printer also includes four cartridges. The printer is user friendly on a Windows PC or a Mac PC. It auto detects once it is connected to the router. The driver was installed automatically. The clear printing with no need for alignment makes it a delight to use. The one thing that I did not like about the printer is the bulky size. Also, it does not scan front and back at the same time. The tray for the printing and the photos is the same so one would have to remove papers to get photos and vice versa. The warranty is for a year and the extended warranty can be purchased. Easiest Multifunction Printer to Install !!!

The Epson Workforce Pro – WF – 3720 is the easiest multifunction printer that I’ve ever set-up! I followed the quick start sheet without any issues, until I tried installing the scanning features on a Windows 7 computer, more on that later in the review. The wireless network was recognized right away and I had had to do was input the password for the network. (There is a way to do this from your router…) Downloading the application software and drives is a no brainer; there is also just a driver package if you don’t want to use the Epson software. Installing the printer cartridges was very simple; I inserted them into the appropriate slots and then allowed the printer to calibrate the print head. I didn’t have any difficulty installing the drivers and software on my new Windows 10 desktop and I was printing, copying and scanning with no problems. Documents printed crisply and very professionally; pictures and images printed fast with vibrant colors and my scans matched the originals. This is a very fast and capable multifunction device and would not have a problem recommending it to everyone… BUT! When I tried to install the scanning drivers and software on a Windows 7 Pro desktop, I was unable to ever get the scanner to work and save scans. I tried everything I could think of and I have over 25 years of IT experience. This made me bring down an almost 5 star product to a 4 star. So, to recap I found the Epson Workforce WF 3270 to be a very capable multifunction for a home office or just home. Printing over the wireless network is fast. Copies are perfect and scanning is almost as fast as our dedicated document scanner. I think as long as you don’t try to use this on Windows 7 Pro you’ll be pleased with this product. “This is a review for the Epson WorkForce Pro WF-3720 All-in-One Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.”

Good Like a Cup of Black Coffee

When I was studying history a few years ago while earning my bachelors I was required to read a book about all the substances that we as humans have been addicted to over the last few contraries. It was convicting as I read the chapter about coffee with a massive cup of the darkest brew possible in hand. But thankfully as an avid reader and scientists I have read about the benefits of coffee and have drawn my own conclusions about how to manage caffeine. I share this story to show that as a thinker I am always questioning the validity of information. Simply because it is written does not mean it is true. This printer is a like that beautiful cup of coffee. It has depth and character. Lets get real, if you just want a caffeine fix there is countless options from instant coffee, energy shots or even pills. While these get the job done, there is not that deep satisfaction. This printer has the robust characteristics that make it valuable to students like myself. I am a first year medical student and the amount of printing I will be doing in the next few months is terrifying. But it is not just printing it is also the other features of this quality printer that make it my constant companion. Sometimes as a student we learn to live on the cheapest options out there. Honestly, as I began shopping for a printer I did look at all of the cheap printers on amazon. But as I began reading I realized that most likely they would not survive through all four years of med school. Knowing when to invest in something and when to take the less expensive option is vital. This printer is not the least expensive. But, friends; lets consider the math. If we buy a $35 printer if we are lucky it will last us one aggressive year of printing. So then we will spend another $35 next year. It is an endless cycle. This printer is an investment. But is a wise choice. This is a review for the Epson WorkForce Pro WF-3720 All-in-One Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.”

    Excellent Printer for Small/Home Businesses

I've used this printer for a full week now and its been working like a champ. Its been ideal printer for my needs. First of all, the printer is super easy to set-up and get running. It took me about 8 minutes to remove the printer from its packaging, install the included ink cartridges, and then setup wireless printing. I really love it that no computer was required to get everything set-up. The touchscreen display made setting everything up very easy. I was also able to access the admin page for the printer via my iPad browser to complete the Google Cloudprint & Apple AirPrinter setup. *Pro-Tip* There is a Epson Printer Finder iOS app that will find your printer's IP address so that you can access the printer's admin page. I was able to start printing directly from by iPad very quickly. The printer even has a Wifi Direct option where it creates its own wireless access point so you can use the printer without an existing wireless network. The printer has a lot of great options such as scanning to the cloud, to email, to USB, to a computer, or to a network folder. The printer has a USB Type-B port, USB Type A, RJ-45, and phone line ports. The printer is also equipped with Wifi Direct & NFC. The printer prints very fast and with high quality. I print a lot of text manuals/reports and the prints come out just as good as a laser printer. The only part that I was worried about was the ink cartridges that are included with the printer seem small. However I was able to find that Epson sells high capacity cartridges that print ~1,100 pages B/W versus ~350 pages B/W for the standard capacity cartridges. Overall, the Epson WF-3720 printer was great. Its easy to use and works well. It also has a lot of extra bells and whistles that are helpful for some users. Excellent Choice

The Epson Workforce Pro WF-3720 is an excellent device. The printing detail is outstanding. If you are looking for an all in one printer this is a great choice. Connecting to the printer wirelessly is easy. The initial setup PC side on the otherhand, is not easy if choosing to add the printer to the network. The Setup program just can't seem to find the printer even with the firewall exception. I had to connect directly to it (AP mode) to finish installation. Setting up the network through the printer control panel was very easy. The WF-3720 can be set up both wifi ways (network and printer AP mode). After the setup is done its very simple to connect and print to the WF-3720 by printing straight from phone, tablet or laptop. I believe it has flash memory built in. I had it unplugged about 13 hours and it still remembered my settings. Another plus if you deal with power outtages. The printing speed is quick you won't be waiting very long. The documents come out crisp and clear. Having 2 sided printing is an amazing feature. Scanning works great and can be done wirelessly too with no quality loss. Copying is quick and come out clear. I can not tell you about the fax feature as I can not test it. Overall, The Epson Workforce Pro WF-3720 is a wonderful all in one device full of awesome features. Usefull for home or office at a great price. The ink cartridges that come with the printer are normal sized, you can purchace XL cartridges for this. Depending on how much you print, the normal cartridges will last you a long time. If you plan on printing pictures/graphs at high detail, I would suggest you buy the XL cartridges. The software that is included with the printer allows you to monitor the ink levels. I have owned a wifi printer in the past but I have never had a use for that feature. This all changed when I received the EPSON WorkForce Pro WF-3720. I was in need for a new printer after the ink dried up in the heads of my old printer and this one fills my needs greatly. Setup of this printer is really simple. When you open the box you only have the printer, the ink cartridges and the power cable to deal with.( if you are going to use this printer wired make sure you purchase a USB cable). After I plugged everything in and powered on the printer (make sure that you hold down the power button until the blue light comes on) I only had to insert the cartridges and the printer was ready for my configurations. I plan to use this printer wirelessly and the setup for that was a breeze. I just had to go into the printer menu and select the scan for wireless networks setting and connect to my network. After that I just had to install the software on my machines and we were up and printing in less that 20 minutes. I forgot to mention that all of the settings on this printer are touchscreen enabled. It really is a breeze with this feature. Also I love that this printer can print on both sides of the paper. That saves us money when our son prints out his school work or other projects. Other features that I love about this printer is the large paper tray. It saves you from having to keep getting up to add more paper. The print quality of the printer is excellent. Also scans and copies look great when using this printer. If you are looking for a printer that will last you a long time and is great performing this one is for you. WF-3720 Small Personal and Small Business Giant

The Epson WF-3720 is an excellent choice for your all in one printer, scanner, fax and copier. The convenience starts at the very beginning when taking out he printer. The packaging itself allows you to lift the printer out of the box with plastic handles, everyone should do this, why not. The printer is easily setup (even without a CD ROM), Windows 8, 8.1 and 10 all all you to simply add the device as a Multi Function Device via the Device and Printer menu in Control Panel. After windows recognizes the printer you will be able to print scan and send faxes without a hinge. For Wireless setup the device would not to be started and you would need to perform the wireless setup on the unit first, then go to Devices and Printer and add / search for a device (not printer) since it can do more than just print. The printer is quiet, compact and has tons of features including scanning to PDF which allows you to password protect the PDFs right from the start. Genius. Scanning up to 600 dpi is more than enough for most business uses. Very nice. Also the image can be be automatically adjusted to remove shadows and color correction. Faxing is as easy as it was 10 years ago simply place the fax in the device feeder, touch the touchscreen and fax. The device is quiet as a mouse and the ink cartridges themselves are the size of 5 credit cards in width. Amazing. I have printed 117 pages and the bar on the ink barely made a mark. I dont know how they do it. The print itself is sharp and the colors are as expected, great. I recommend this printer to anyone. If you need help or have a questions please let me know.
