This printer works fantastic so far and was pretty easy to set up. I enjoy the wireless capabilities and printing from my phone. The printer is fast and the two sided printing is great!

    Workhouse printer - FAST

These things are serious workhorse printers. We print A LOT from our home office and this is great to use because it is fast and easy to use. Epson has software that is a bit flakey so updates can be a pain, but this has been a solid unit for us. We have several and use them at home and at the office. Our favorite HP version that didn't have a movable print carriage was the best, but they stopped making them, so this took it's place. We've liked these enough to put our color laser printers to rest. Definitely get the double drawer system even if you don't print a ton - it's more sturdy and easy to fill quickly. The unit that has only one drawer is flimsy and picky, so sometimes there are issues with getting it to not jam. This unit has been great, rarely jams and is super easy to use with pass through paper. No funky rear hatch to deal with. Great for the price for what it does. As long as you print a lot, the ink cost isn't bad. If you don't print often, be warned that the ink can dry up quicker, especially in dry cold winter days. Overall, this is a great unit and we recommend.

My old HP all in one printer quit, so I was forced to buy a new one. After checking reviews online and shopping at the local stores, I got a deal on this Epson Workforce Pro WF-4740. The local Best Buy had one in stock and they were offering $50 off the listed price of $299 to trade in your old printer. At the same time Best Buy had them priced at $199 online. I got the store to sell me the one they had for the online price plus they gave me $50 off for the old HP printer, for a total price of $149. It was easy to set up and it works great so far, but I have had it for less than a month.

It is a great all in one unit. The toner life does good over all the length of use of the printer. The cost of the toner is high. The unit only seems to support one high-yield cartridge at a time. Very compact unit and can fit in a small space. Purchased when a sale was running and would purchase another epson product.

    Struggle to Set Up

I was in the market for a laser printer for home office use, and this seemed like a god buy and included a lot of cool features. The printer is fast, and I haven’t experienced the massive ink usage that others have mentioned. However, note that this thing is a bear to set up and print wirelessly to. I had to install/uninstall the driver three times, and even now it works sporadically. I am tempted to connect with USB but even that is something of a hassle, and defeats the purpose of why I chose this model. I am hopeful that there is a user error on my part, and when it runs it is efficient. Just ensure that you set it up correctly.

Very impressed with the performance of this printer. I've used almost every feature it offers in the 3 weeks I've owned it and was impressed with how intuitive the home screen instructions were and speed of printing. 2 paper trays make a big difference, in as much as the printer is upstairs, though I still need to go for the printouts...oh well.

This is a large capacity wireless printer with 2 paper loading trays that is great for either home or professional use. It prints, scans, and faxes. The print quality is excellent and had a large digital touchpad screen. A very affordable printer for the features and large tray capacity.

My HP 820 broke after a year of normal use. I researched my options and reviewed specs for a replacement. This Epson had everything I needed with much better specs at a great price. easy set up. I was up and running in a few minutes! Fast, great color. Smaller than 820. Has Air print to print from phone or tablet or laptop.

Perfect prints, quality scans, can't say anything about copying/faxing, yet, though. All in all, a great quality product with one minor issue. I live out of hotels and work on the road, so I am constantly unpacking/repacking into and out of the original box. Sometimes there are lines in the prints, and I have to go through the head cleaning/alignment process to get it back to flawless. I'm sure you wouldn't have this issue if it was intended to be in a stationary place. Other than that, no issues.

Compared to a basic inkjet printer, this model takes up a lot of desk space, but it's worth it. It's really fast-almost as fast as my pro laser printer- and the twin trays make paper selection convenient. Wired networking is super easy to configure and works reliably. Two minor quibbles: the ink is pricey and the printer doesn't wake up automatically when powered off, although this probably is a power-saving feature and not a bug. I haven't tried photo printing so can't comment on that.

Worth the cost of the ink!

I know that the refill ink for this printer is horribly expensive. I knew that before I bought it. Someone made a joke that you might as well throw the printer away and buy a new one every time the ink runs out.... but thats ridiculous. This machine is quick, quiet and does everything I need it to and more, thus I'd rather pay more for ink for a machine that I trust and that doesn't jam or give me connection problems. Time is money for us all and reliable equipment is hard to come by. This machine has been great and I know it will save me time and money in the long run. The HP reviews are horrible of their comparable machine and connections issues. The brother complaints are similar about paper jams and broken plastic parts. Yeah their ink is cheaper, but the machine is what matters most! Give this one a try, you will not be disappointed! This is my second unit for another one of my offices.

great little all in one. standard option of 2 paper trays was great. needed a wireless, fax, scanner, and copier and this fit the bill. quality is great, color prints great. decently efficient on ink but still a higher cost per page than laser.

I have found Epson printers to be superior over HP in particular and this is my second Work Force printer as I simply wore out the other WF printer I had. This one has a much better touch screen, works with various sizes of paper and on quite mode does work more quietly. Thus far, I think it is a very good buy/printer-one drawback is the ink cost but that is true for all printers.

This is a good solid printer for home use. I wish the scanner was. But snappier as I'm also using this to digitize my file cabinet. I like being able to print from anywhere and I have it on the printer when I get home.
