I really like a lot of features on this printer. The wide format is a nice option for larger printing especially running a business. The tray automatically ejects when you print. It's much more compact width and length-wise than the last wide format printer I had and feels more solid and built better. The trays to load paper, envelopes, etc. are pretty easy to figure out. I didn't have any trouble with the ink going out because I only installed the drivers and fax utility from the web site instead of the "all in one" and even without any kind of run on alignment or anything, I have excellent printouts already. I've printed probably 20-25 pages so far on the ink it came with and still not out. The scan area is nice and easy to access. I don't care for the scan utility from Epson so I just use the quick scan from Windows as it lets me preview the whole area and select specific areas to save. My only complaint so far is that it is only a month old with minimal use and the rollers when printing are making a squeaking noise. I haven't contacted anyone on it yet, but I'm hoping this is an easy fix because it's very annoying. Otherwise, the sound the printer makes is about average for any I've had in the past. It has exceeded my expectations so far. And, yes, printer ink is expensive for it, but no worse than my last wide format printer, so that's not a big deal in my overall satisfaction.

This is my first Wide Format printer and so far I’m really impressed. I wasn’t sure what to expect with photo quality for what seemed like more of an office style printer than one aimed specifically for photographs but knowing Epson quality over the years, I figured it would be good.
Setup was quick, my home network found it right away and I was able to print a couple test sheets. However, my PC does not have a CD player so the included CD was useless for me. I went to the website (after I had it working) and downloaded the full suite for it. No matter what I did, it would not install due to it not even finding it on the network even though it was already on the network. I gave up on the Epson software for a bit and decided to have some fun with it.
Being a hobbyist photographer that has always had someone else print my larger prints, I was really excited to try some large paper. I had stopped by my local camera store and bought a box of MOAB 13 x 19 metallic pearl paper ( I was going all in)
First issue I ran into was I was just using the automatically installed Windows drivers and was only able to choose A3 for the largest paper size and the prints were not using all the paper but still larger than anything I’d ever printed myself before. The print quality was exactly how I had hoped. I had everything set to as highest quality and could tell with how slowly it was printing that it was going to be good. I was not disappointed. My prints rivaled professional prints I’ve had made by others.
Now I just needed to figure out how to use the whole 13x19 paper. So back to the Epson website and I downloaded the drivers and each separate app and installed everything individually. This time it worked. Now I had the correct options in print settings to choose all kinds of sizes. I ran off a pic at 13 x 19 and it was beautiful. Took almost 10 minutes to print it but it came out perfect. (until my cat decided to start licking it as it sat flat on the table)
Not sure why some others have said it doesn’t come with any ink. Sure it came with starter ink but I was able to print about 10 fairly large and my one very large photo at the highest settings before I started getting the low ink message. Thankfully, the individual colors are not very expensive and I’ve since ordered a couple more sets.
I don’t have a landline so I won’t be using the fax system but the scanner, double sided printing and other features are things I’m looking forward to having.
Love the easy to read and use touchscreen. The printer does take up some serious real estate and if you plan on using the rear tray for the large paper, you won’t be able to have it up against a wall. This printer definitely needs some space.
Overall, I love this and the typical, expected Epson print quality is right there with every other Epson printer I’ve had through the years.

Seems like a good printer, sturdy. It was pretty easy to set up physically, but the online software did not interact well at all with my M1 iMac with latest MacOS and kept reporting that it could not detect the printer, even though the printer was receiving the print commands just fine via Bluetooth. I've used it to print on standard letter size and ledger paper thus far and hope to add 12"x18" and 13"x19" as needed. Using 2-sided printing for letter paper has worked well, also. It is heavy and has a pretty large footprint, but that's to be expected with a wide format printer.

I've owned this printer for 11 months now, and I'm crazy about it. I use it nearly every day to print about a dozen letters and envelopes.
PROS:
-- I've only used it a handful of times for colored prints, and I feel like the quality was good but I'm not an expert. As far as black ink, I've only had to replace XL cartridges maybe three times? I think that's phenomenal for as much printing as I do.
-- The scanner, the printer's email address tool, and all the functions on the touchscreen are super easy to set up and use, and I'm a complete dummy when it comes to those things.
-- It's heavy (50 lbs,) and it's shockingly large (something like just over 20x20") to use as a personal printer, but I've got it a rolling Ikea Tingby table, the 25x25" one, and it works beautifully.
-- Having 2 paper drawers is SO convenient. I can fit in nearly a whole ream of paper between the two, maybe even the whole thing if I wasn't being so cautious.
-- Scan and copy preview. SO COOL! And saves paper, ink, and time from all the scanning/copying mistakes I would typically make.
CON:
-- My only complaint is that I have trouble keeping it connected to my MacBook. I've tried every workaround the internet has to offer, including re-downloading the most updated drivers and keeping my iOS updated. Currently my fix is to restart my router OR restart my MacBook and printer when I experience the problem. Both work just as well, so I'm not sure what my issue is.
-- Oh, and It can only handle maybe 9 or 10 business envelopes in the top feeder before it indicates a paper jam because the feeder can't take the topmost one in and you have to either take out a few or help the top one along. I know, petty complaint, but when you print a lot of envelopes at once it would be nice to just keep going.
Other than those little annoyances, this is a fantastic printer and I absolutely love it.

Purchased this printer for my home office. I am in real estate so I do use it frequently. This is a replacement for a brother laser printer. The quality of the print is not laser quality but for an ink jet it’s fine. The colors do seem to be brighter or a different hue than my previous printer. This is a large printer but it was very easy to set up. I’m happy I am able to print by laptop, cell phone ( Apple) and iPad no problem. Very helpful. My previous printer stopped working because the software was no longer compatible with Mac / Apples newest OS. This printer set up quickly and printed right away. The ink cartridges that came with it did not last long at all. Hopefully the replacement cartridges last longer. The touch pad is a nice size and easy to navigate. WiFi printing is good and also set up quickly & easily.
I would recommend it.

Easy set up and installation on my computer so far seems to be reliable, although prints very slowly and copies are slowly… Possibly cause I’m used to a laser printer, however good color little bit confusing to change the sizes of documents, but all in all it is one of the better printers I’ve owned in the past 15 years.

I was looking for a color printer capable of 11 x 17. I compared as many printers as I could find on the internet. The WF-7840 was one of the two finalists and I made the decision to get the Epson unit because I had another Epson printer that worked tremendously over a dozen years. Best Buy's price was attractive and I also received a recycle credit for my old printer. I've had the new printer for a month and it's got all the features I need and working very well. It's "big" but that's what you get when you need 11 x 17. I made the right choice.

So far so good. Bought this to replace a similar one that quit after 8 years. Hoping this one lasts that long. I have had a few connection issues, but they seem to work out fairly easily. Print quality is good. Other than a few minor glitches, dont have anything bad to say about it.

I purchased the WF-7840 printer for an excellent price. I've had the opportunity to use the printer for quite a few weeks now and I am totally satisfied with the printer's performance. I do a lot of black and white coping which it does well. However, when I tried to copy a small piece of paper(like a check} the printer requested some other action so I put a blank full size sheet of paper over the check and it copied just fine. I print photos of my grandkids on this printer and the color is great.

I've had this for a couple of months. It is simply amazing. Two paper trays plus a direct feed chute...letter and legal in the trays and 11x17 in the feeder. You just don't see these features in a home printer. Best Buy price was below any other vendor online. Free delivery sweetened the deal. Works great for photos on photo stock; labels; everyday one and two sided printing. Copy and scan works exactly as advertised. Bottom line: exceptional functionality for use as a home printer and it takes print orders from desktops, laptops, and phones.

I am very pleased with this printer. It prints quietly and is easy to use and set up. I especially love the ease at which I can print on 11 x 17 paper, one-sided and duplex. Having two paper trays is definitely a bonus. This is my third consecutive Epson Workforce printer. The true test will come as I see how long it prints beautiful copies. My previous Epson Workforce printers seemed to develop issues with color and print quality too soon (2 - 3 years).

The printer prints really well and does handle larger print sizes. It is also heavy and bulky. We had to have the first one replaced because of an internal hardware issue. Be sure to make it go through all the paces in the first few days that you can exchange it pain free.
Technical support is hit and miss. The techs are difficult to understand and have a hard time understanding the caller.

This Epson - Work Force® Pro WE-7840 Wireless Wide-format All-in-One Printer, in black, can practically do anything whether for strictly home use, or home business, or in office business needs. However, please keep in mind that this printer has a large footprint and you need a stable and sizable surface area on which to places it.
This a well-packaged printer and the contents of its box are the printer, that has many blue tapes applied to keep key areas stable during shipment in its huge box that all need to be removed during the installation process. Also provided inside the box are the 4 snap-in cassettes of color, the electric plug, a short and direct installation pamphlet in English and other languages. The installation is so easy and intuitive, but I also am including a link, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P85XaWziHZo, to a You Tube video that also goes step-by-step through the installation.
I must say that this all in one-copy, scan, fax, and print can handle most anything that you might need to be done. It is instant on, so no waiting time to print, it has 2-250 sheet capacity paper trays plus a 50 sheet rear-feed third port. If you look at the paper tray photos that I have uploaded you will see a light blue rectangular plastic piece that once engaged allows you to increase the size of the tray to accommodate legal, 11x14, and wide body, what I call ledger-size, 11x17, paper. I am a CPA and do paperwork and I have always had to cut and paste because printing or copying these type of worksheets was previously not doable, but now it is. I am also a big fan and require that my printers have auto doc feeders, ADF's, to make my work more efficient and in this case you can stack up to 35 pages per the instructions. I love that I can use all 3 paper ports differently, if I so choose. Paper tray 1 for letter size, paper tray 2 for legal size, and the rear feeder for 11x17. You could also fill a tray with photo quality paper, envelopes or smaller billing statements, whatever your personal or business needs require. All 3 of these paper ports are totally adaptable
Now, if I were printing long tax returns I would still be using my laser printers for speed, but in all other areas this would be just fine. I did connect the printer to my Alexa to do some voice-activated printing.I set my printer up to be completely wireless and it needs to be hooked up to your network before setting up the Alexa feature. I initially Googled this, but wound up at the Epson website for the Setting Up the Epson Printer Skill for Amazon Alexa commands, https://epson.com/Support/wa00879a. It is important that you have previously set up an econnect account because after you enable the Alexa Epson skill Amazon links you back to signing into your econnect account. By the way, it is easiest to get to anything Alexa by typing into your browser alexa.amazon.com, I was trying to go into the website to get to the skills, but it was not working well that way, much easier to get to Alexa information this other way. i also downloaded the Epson Smart Panel app on my android smart phone

This replaces my Epson 845 and I can see a huge difference. For starters it handles more paper and larger paper sheets. I prints a lot faster and I don't have worry about paper falling after printing because it automatically extends the receiving tray. The only issue I have is the ink cartridges are a bit smaller than my 845 by just a little. However the black cartridge is large.
It's easy to set up with onscreen and computer instructions, full size keypad and email feature to email directly from the printer.
Excellent all in one for the home office I got.

Only inexpensive printer that can do ArchB-12"x18"

I purchased this machine because I wanted a 3-tray printer that could print up to ArchB or 12"x18" paper. This machine delivers on my requirements.
This printer has enough internal intelligence to route jobs to the correct paper tray, when using three different page sizes. The print quality meets expectations, and the printer is as fast as any ink jet printer. This printer also features auto-duplexing on the printer and scanner which makes duplex printing easy.
It is fair to say that if you are considering this printer you are probably also looking at the HP 7740, which I also own. This printer is comparable with the HP 7740 in all respects, but with larger paper handling options.
The supplies for this printer (T812XL Black with T812 Color Cartridges) can be purchased in a single pack for $80. This cost is less than the comparable print cartridges on the HP 7740 (the cost of this configuration is $118). At this time I cannot report on page yield as I have only printed 239 pages (108 BW/131 Color). According to some printer review sites this printer has a cost per page at 3.3 cents BW/11.3 cents Color. This is a higher cost than the HP 7740 by 57% and 39% respectively.
The scanner when compared to Epson’s Workforce stand-alone scanners or a large-office MFP is slow. Additionally while this scanner does duplex scanning it does not have single-pass duplex scanning. If you work in an environment where you need to scan large documents frequently you should pass on this machine for an Epson Workforce. All this being said, I purchased this machine as a printer not a scanner so the scanner feature is truly a secondary value-added feature.
In conclusion, if you need an 11x17 MFP then the HP 7740 is equivalently priced machine with a lower cost of ownership. If you need a 13x19 printer with occasional scanning up to 11x17 then this is a solid machine which should meet your needs.

I have been a loyal HP customer for 20 years, however, I found the last updates made using the system difficult. when my last HP brokedown i tried the Epson and have been pleasantly surprised. The quality of the build was solid. installation was easy, much easier than HP. Speed is slightly slower than the HP but quick enough for most jobs. Scanning software is excellent and very easy to scan and save. Footprint of the WF is about the same as my 7840 maybe a little bigger. ink may be a little more than HP as they do not have the subscription purchase, but you can locate better pricing. Overall would recommend you trying this printer.
