Well I've had this printer for less than a couple years and in my office saw very light use (replaced the black ink cartridge twice and the color ones once) this thing gave up the ghost with some very loud banging and grinding noises. Gives error codes and can not recover or reset no matter how hard I smash it with my fist. Anyways I hoped that this would treat me as well as my old Epson Workforce 545 had but that wasn't the case. This one is shotgun fodder and I'll be hooking up my previously retired Workforce 545 to save the day. Have always been an Epson fan but might be ok looking elsewhere for a more modern printer.

I bought this printer for my daughter to be able to print her school work. The printer worked for a month then started getting really bad paper jams. The printer takes multiple sheets at a time. I called customer service but they didn't really help. Bummer, this is why I hate buying printers.

EPSON Workforce WF-7710 Review UNBOXING First observation – the box is enormous! Weighing over 45 pounds, one can surmise the printer is going to be very large as well – and it is. The printer is minimally, yet adequately packed, with every moving and/or opening part blue taped, and appropriate amounts of Styrofoam secured it during shipping. Box was damaged in several places, but once I opened the box I felt confident the printer was undamaged (CONFIRMED!). A handy booklet is included to identify all locations where packing tape should be removed prior to set up. Total time to unbox and ready for setup – about 5 minutes. SETUP Set up was fast and easy. Since I was testing the product, I set up every conceivable connection (Ethernet, WiFi, WiFi Direct, NFC, Wired LAN, etc.). No issues. The included DVD eased installation onto the computer. I also set up using a mobile phone with WiFi Hotspot, and a different mobile phone with WiFi Direct – both setups were painless and seamless. Total time to set up all the different connections – about 30 minutes. OPERATION Did I mention the printer is large? I have a fairly large printer from a major EPSON competitor, and the Workforce WF-7710 makes my other printer look tiny. Why a new printer? After my other printer failed for the 3rd time (3rd different reason), and a piece from the feeder broke off (through no fault of mine), I decided it was time to look elsewhere (after owning 5 different printers from that same manufacturer). Consumer Reports gave EPSON good reviews. We had already purchased an EPSON printer for my girlfriend’s mother about a year ago, and she experienced no issues. I printed with different sized papers, from 11 ½ x 14, 8 ½ x 11, even 11 x 17 with no issues. • Document Printer - The printer is fast (claims 18ppm b/w and 10ppm color – sounds about right), with accurate colors and deep black. Wireless printing was as easy as printing from the computer (installed EPSON software for free from the App store). My EPSON has one 250 page paper tray, which seems ample for all but the most hard core users. Printing from my laptop using both Ethernet and WiFi was also painless. • Photo Printer – As an amateur photographer, I was skeptical photo prints would be usable from a home printer. I was pleasantly surprised. From high quality glossy photo paper to high quality matte presentation paper (both added through the rear feeder – did not try adding photo paper to the main paper bin), the photos look great. While not the photo quality produced by the $100,000 printing machines you find in Sam’s, Costco, BJ’s, etc., the quality was high enough to confidently frame the photos. 4x6, 5x7, and 8x10 all look great! Maximum print resolution is claimed by EPSON at 4800 x 2400 dpi and while I did not approach those levels, if printing 13x19 (i.e. a 12x18 crop), I would imagine the quality to be outstanding (trying to find affordable 13x19 high quality photo paper is another challenge). • Scanner – From documents to photos, much improved over my previous printer (which has a very good scanner). Accurate and fast, with vibrant color reproduction, including a document feeder (35 page limit, nice), this was another pleasant surprise. • Fax – I did not test the fax, because who faxes in 2018? It is much easier to scan and send via secure email or secured document uploading software. WHAT I LIKED • 4.3 inch touchscreen – big, bold, easy to read and navigate. This should be the minimum size touchscreen for all printers. • Print (Document / Photo) Quality – having owned many printers over the years, the print quality was outstanding! • Versatility – Every conceivable way to print has been added to this machine • 35 page document feeder – for someone who utilizes the scanner, this is a fair sheet capacity • Wide Format – 13x19? Usually reserved for business printers – in fact, this machine could be used as a business printer • Quality – despite the fact the every printer I have seen over the past 10 years has been mostly, if not all, plastic, this feels like a quality product (remember, it is over 45 pounds – crazy!) WHAT I DISLIKED (OR THOUGHT WAS JUST OK) • Single page rear feeder – why only 1 page? Even with photo paper, you could not have increased to 10 pages its capacity? • Noisy – will anyone ever make a quiet printer again? • Start up / Shut down times – while not a deal breaker, this machine takes about 1 minute to warm up – about the speed of an office printer/copier. WHAT I WOULD LOVE TO SEE ADDED • Remote (Smartphone / Tablet) full access to the control panel – having to walk to the printer to change controls offsets the flexibility of being able to print from un-tethered devices. • ECO-INK capability – this is an enormous printer, and while I have only been using it for less than 2 weeks, with heavy use it will consume large amounts of ink. And because most manufacturers attempt to lock down the replacement ink to prevent 3rd party replacement ink usage, having the ability to fill ink wells is paramount for such a high level machine. FINAL THOUGHTS / RATINGS • Out of a possible perfect score of 10 (versus similar types of printers / expectations): o PRINT SPEED 9 o PRINT QUALITY 9 o PHOTO PRINT 10 o NOISE 6 o VERSATILITY 8 o QUALITY 10 • If you are looking for a fair priced, high quality, wide format, affordable printer, and are not afraid of its massive size, I have not used a better printer than the EPSON Workforce WF-7710 Even though I received a free copy of the printer to test it, I would not trade this printer for any other I have seen, even if it was given gratis. The True Workforce of the Office

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

First let’s get to the main subject; if you’re looking for an All-In-One professional printer then this is the one for you! When I received the printer at the door I was amazed on the size of the box and for good reason, The packaging was done beyond what a normal printer comes in, This was packed to be 100 percent safe for traveling through the Fedex or UPS places as we all know, they love to see if they can break whatever is inside. I work for a manufacturing company so I know the challenge of shipping an item to arrive safe and sound. Now let’s talk about the weight of this printer, Yes it is on the heavy side, and for good reason. This is not one of those printers that you’re tossing out after a year. The weight is due to being very well made to last a life time. Part of my job at work is also buying the company’s printers for our instructions sheets and more. I have been to every major copy and printer company and have done major research on the good and bad to be on the watch out for. So when I say this is one well made machine I am not joking. You get a heavy machine only when you use quality parts and not cheap all plastic parts. We have seen so many printers get trashed due to being bumped off the desk or table and breaking, that’s not going to happen with this machine, made to stay in place. Next subject, Set-up. The set-up of this printer was so easy that I truly believe a 8 year old could do it. It was a true pleasure setting this one up. The short set-up guide was done very well and the color on screen directions made it super easy. With having the option of using a wired or Wi-Fi connection is great, a lot of the printers now only give you one way to go, but not this machine. You won’t be disappointed. Now the other main subject, Usage, since this is a all-in-one printer I decided to try every fiction. First was printing a highly detailed photo so I had our company art department come up with a major test print and let me just say “WoW”. This machine passed 100 percent, spot on for detail and color. Then I tried the scanning fiction of the same photo and again, passed 100 percent and did not grain out at all, could not even tell it was a copy. Then we tried other highly detailed pictures of different sizes because this is also a wide format printer and again I was amazed on the outcome. We even did two sided printing and not one problem and the outcome was great. We set-up 5 different items to connect to the printer from cell phones, both android and Iphone, desktop computers and laptop and 1 tablet and had zero problems connecting and use. No disconnects. Then being able to print from a thumb drive or flash drive is also great, go ahead and try to find other printers out there that have that. Being able to print from the cloud is also great because sometimes you just have to work away from were the printer is. Being able to scan items and then saving them to a computer or other item is super, did not have one problem. There is much more that is good about this machine but this review covered the basics of what the average person will use. The only con we can find on this machine is that it is a Ink Jet and as we know, it is like buying gold. We have not printed enough to see what the true yield is but it seems to be using less ink then the other printers around. I guess the good thing about this machine is that you can purchase the larger ink tanks. Plus each color is separate so you don’t have to buy a full tank because you used more blue or yellow, this helps a lot. Our hats off to Epson and the WF-7710 All-In-One Printer. I love when I get the chance to put machines through the paces and try to make them fail, only because I am a Quality Control Manager and that’s my job, Find what is wrong with an item before it gets to the customer. A very well made machine. When I do reviews of test items I feel it is the best interest to be truthful and point out the weak points of a item so that the next person won’t be shocked to find out it was sugar coated and this review was done to the best of my skills. “This is a review for the Epson WorkForce WF-7710 Wide Format All-in One Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.”

WF-7710 printed ok, but not fabulous. It ran out of ink way too quickly. I tried to print a few photos, but they printed poorly, colors were off by quite a bit. I tried to adjust colors in the program, but no go. Salesman didn't tell me anything. Never discussed any of the printers where the ink lasted way more. I would have gone with one of them if he had brought any of them up. This printer with go to the dump, as it's beyond the warranty.

    Bulky but Effiecent

The first thing I noticed about the Epson WorkForce-7710 All-In-One Printer was its size. The printer is very big and heavy, its bulky size made it difficult for me to find a space for it in my office. After I took it out of the box I set it up and for the most part it was very easy to set up. The instructions were easy to follow. My main problem was trying to get the printer hooked up to my Wi-Fi, that took me a while I have Comcast Wi-Fi, so I know my Wi-Fi was strong. I have been using the printer for over a week now. The printer does print very fast and the quality is very impressive. I scanned a photo using the scanner and it scanned an 8x10 photo very quickly and the quality left me very impressed. I printed out invitations to a NYE party I had and it is fast with good quality, but a little loud for my taste. I tried the fax on it and it was easy to set up, but it took a little while to fill out the info before I could send it. The fax sent in a timely slower then would have liked, but the quality was impressive. This giant eyesore was great printing out resumes, photos, and other miscellaneous items for recreational use. Suddenly, it completely stopped printing. No lines, faded words, squiggles...nothing. I've replaced all cartridges. At this point, repair vs cost of a new printer is up in the air. This is the second Epson that has done this.

    A great printer but big

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Let me start off by saying this is not a small printer by any means. Being a wide format all-in-one printer means it’s going to be a little bigger than your standard home printer. Having a second person to help with removing it from the box is definitely a good idea. With the size and features of this printer it’s probably best for a small office or home office. Setup went very smooth. After removing the many pieces of tape securing everything it was just a matter of plugging it in and adding it to my wireless network. Joining the network was as easy if not easier than usual. Software installation was also pretty straightforward and uneventful. After using this printer for a while I think it’s become one of my favorites. With an impressive list of features and ease of use I would recommend it for most anybody. While not a photo quality printer the quality is very good. The printing speed is very fast and it seems quieter than most ink jet printers. With features such as built in 2-sided printing and scanning to most common web services, everyone will find this printer useful. Awesome Printer!

After receiving this printer, I was excited to unbox it. I didn't realize that it would be as big as it is, but I saw the size as a pleasant surprise! I knew right away that this would be a great printer. The instructions and on-screen cues were flawless for helping me set up the printer. I had no trouble whatsoever, and it was a very quick process. I also love how it is compatible with my computer and phone, which makes printing from anywhere so easy! I never realized how nice it would be to print from my phone until receiving this printer. In terms of features, this printer has it all! It has color and black and white copying capabilities, easy scanning (especially when using the mobile app- I have never made an easier scan than I did with this printer!), faxing capabilities, and I am sure many other features that I haven't even explored yet! The control panel is a touch screen (as well as buttons) that makes printing more user-friendly than I have ever experienced before. This printer seems as though it can handle large volumes of paper very well, so I would count this a great printer for anyone in need of one for a work setting, especially a home business. Very Good All-In-One

I have not had a new printer in about 3 years so I was excited to try this out. I was not disappointed. The setup was incredibly simple. I love that the printer itself connects to the internet so that it can run its own updates instead of having to go through the computer. I also really like how easy it was to setup the wireless printing. Once it was on my network my computer found it and connected. Along with its advanced features it still prints, scans, and copies great. I am really impressed with the quality of the scanning. The big office printer I have at work doesn't scan as well as this. The speed of printing is also very impressive. Finally, it seems like a very well built printer. I have bought inexpensive printers in the past that only last for about a year. This feels a lot sturdier and it feels like it is made with high quality parts. I have only had this printer for a couple weeks so I don't have any negatives. The only concern I have is the size of the ink cartridges. They are very thin so I don't know how long they will last. Hopefully, it is just a different design that I am used to and they will be on par with all other ink cartridges. large, but awesome

My first thought when receiving the Epson Workforce WF-7710 Wide Format All-in-One Printer was “wow, that is a huge box!”. After unboxing, I still thought it was a GIANT printer compared to previous printers I have used, but it is big for a reason. The ability to print large paper is quite handy in the office environment, so I will definitely compromise on the size of this printer. Other than the size, the touchscreen on the printer is great because it is large enough to see, and I like that it can be tilted up and down for easier viewing. Installation and setup of the WF-7710 was a breeze. I unboxed and followed directions, and was up in running in about 10 minutes. The wireless set up was very easy, and I love being able to print from my phone and my computer wirelessly. The scanning and printing aspects both were great, easy to use, and high quality. I am getting a lot of use out of this printer for work, and everything looks very professional. This is a great printer for someone who needs to print larger size papers, and also wants the ability to scan, fax, and print wirelessly. I will be putting this thing to use for a long time to come! A Great Printer

This printer is powerful and more importantly, reliable. I have had many wireless printers in the past but none have made it as easy as this one. It is always connected and I can print from my phone with ease. My last printer required turning it on and off to get it to connect to the wifi. This thing on the other hand has given me no problems. It is large but not bulky and would make a great addition to a home office or a small business. While I have not been able to try the fax feature, the scanning is amazing. it makes it very easy to scan multiple documents at once in no time at all. The printer does get dirty rather easily, the plastic seems to be a dust magnet. I think this printer is best suited for a small business that doesn't need thousands of sheets of paper a day. while it is very fast, there are other printers that are more suited for larger volume printing. this printer is very cool in that it allows for a large variety of paper types and sizes, making it very versatile. If you need a printer, then this is your guy for the job. This is a review for the Epson WorkForce WF-7710 Wide Format All-in-One Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.

Unpacking the printer is pretty straightforward. Although the cardboard was damp and there was condensation on the plastic, the printer was fine. The fact that it uses a proprietary power cable is somewhat annoying. The network and USB ports are tucked away on the left hand side of the unit rather than on the back which is awkward but not impossible in the space I am using. It does become problematic when a paper jam occurs in the rear feed unit as the cord can get in the way. Users should note that when configuring the printer, there is not a “save” option; however, “start setup” seems to be equal to “save”. During the ink jet alignment procedure, a page is printed to facilitate alignment. The user is directed to choose from each row the box with no lines and no spaces. However, the page did not have any boxes in any row that fit this criteria resulting in the user needing to take his or her best guess. These set up issues may have been detailed in the manual on CD, but I did not take the time to load and read it as most people will not bother to do this. The printer has a large footprint which makes sense considering its ability to print in a wide format. Be sure you have space to access the rear feed tray. I have mixed feelings about the rear feed for odd ball paper sizes: the versatility is great, but the location could be troublesome depending on the space constraints. The quality and speed of the printing is really excellent considering that it is an ink jet printer. Black and white prints and copies are super crisp. Color prints are shockingly good! This printer easily outperforms the color laser I have been using. It will be interesting to see how long the ink cartridges last. The cartridges shipped with the printer are small compared to other ink jet cartridges I have used. For those who are used to fewer paper size options, the printer needs some attention to make sure that the paper size is clearly defined both at the printer and in the computer software being used – and both have to be in agreement. And the thing I find most annoying about the printer is that it does not seem to have a default setting (ex: B&W copy, single sided) to which it returns after a designated amount of idle time. If your last print was 2-sided color and you forget to adjust the printer settings, you can easily end up copying 2-sided color on your next copy job, so be sure to check every time. I also have not figured out how to kill a print job during the print process. There is not an obvious “cancel” button. Having the ability to print in wide format and on legal and ledger size paper at home is great! These are options that might be more than the average home user would need, but for the price, it’s well worth it! Users who enjoy digital scrapbooking or similar hobbies will enjoy the ability to print on 10” x 10” inch stock and 12”x12” inch stock without leaving the house. And the high quality printing truly makes a trip to the print shop unnecessary. This printer is great for desk top publishing tasks, too. This printer has a lot of exciting options that I have not had the opportunity to test yet, and I find the fax option to be unnecessary in the digital age. Overall, I am truly impressed by this machine and look forward to exploring it further. This is a review for the Epson WorkForce WF-7710 Wide Format All-in-One Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.
