It will not print what I have to copy

I just want to copy what's on top of the glass, and not feed it through the PDF feeder. This is frustrating to say the least. It should be a simple 1. put photo of literature on top of glass to copy, 2. put down cover. 3. copy

Then couldn't "recognize" any expensive brand name print cartridges we bought from Office Depot. I will never buy another Epson product. Clunky, always demanding updates, ineffective, flimsy trash.
