This printer is a great printer. We used to buy HP all the time but one time we got 3 in one week and the last time we asked if we could get something else. they gave use a credit on a gift card a very nice young man showed us all the different ones saying he has an Epson and it's been great over the years. We decided to buy one about 10 years ago it just died so we got this newer version and love it as much as the old Epson.

This is our second Epson WF-7720 printer. We've owned other Epson printers. However, with this one I wish it were a little easier to print envelopes. For those looking to save on ink cartridges, don't buy some off brand claiming it will be compatible with your manufactures ink. A friend of our bought the same printer, used a "generic" ink and the printer stopped printing nicely. I will assume it was because it was not the OEM ink. The printer has been good so far.

    First Epson & Last Epson

I've owned Canon and HP printers in the past. This was my first Epson. Well, technically my second since Epson has already sent me a replacement after many hours and $$ spent on ink after countless print head cleanings. Regardless, it will be my last Epson printer. The issues I experienced were mostly with random colors not printing. I used genuine Epson brand ink, yet this was a consistent issue. The printer would leave horizontal streaks before the color stopped functioning. An example would be an orange printing as yellow because magenta stopped functioning. As mentioned, I was instructed to perform many print head cleanings to the point where the cartridges drained and I was out of ink. I've easily spent over $100 in print head cleanings. Epson refused to replace that ink. My issues got all the way up to their corporate office. They wouldn't budge, however they finally offered to replace the unit. At this point, I had the printer for around 8 months or so. I had the issue again with the new printer and a single head cleaning fixed it. It happened again a few days ago, so today I had an opportunity to call them. I was instructed to perform 2 head cleanings which resolved the issue. After checking with Tier 2 support, the representative suggested that the print nozzle keeps getting clogged and can be due to changes in weather or being in a dirty environment. My printer sits on a clean desk in an otherwise unused room. I also have central HVAC...we experience minor humidity changes inside the house throughout the year. The tech instructed me to call back in and recall my reference number from today if the issue happens again. I noticed that tomorrow marks 1 year from when I purchased the WF-7720. It's rare that I have a product experience so poor that I'll write a review about it. Aside from a very poor product experience, the service was horrible as well. Customer service was very difficult to work with, all the way up to their corporate office. Even the process to return the old printer was horrendous. I was at the FedEx store for an hour trying to get Epson to send over the return label since the first one they sent me had an expiration of a few days (which they didn't note in their email). By the end of the week when I could make it to FedEx to ship it back, it expired. This printer has cost me a lot of money in ink costs and if the trend continues, it will continue to do so. There are some cool features like scanning to email/cloud, but it's not worth the headache...especially if you're looking at this for a business printer.

    Worst. Printer. Ever.

I got rid of my last WF-7710 because after 1 year specific colors would no longer print. (like the inkjet clogged). I had only used official Epson cartridges and it got regular use. Since I needed a wide format printer I purchased the WF-7720, which was the newer model. After 6 months, I have constant issues with this printer. While trying to use the auto doc feeder, it constantly grabs multiple pages at once. I learned that I have to feed the pages to it one at a time (which negates the feature of an auto document feeder). I like the ability to have 2 trays for different paper sizes, since I print a lot of 11x17 and a lot of envelopes. But unfortunately, tray 1 is the only one that allows 11x17 or envelope size. For some reason, it defaults to tray 1 when printing from devices other than my PC (like using the phone app). In which case it prints those documents on 11x17 or envelope, depending on what I have loaded into Tray 1 at the time. This printer is frustrating to use and requires about 10 minutes of attention each time I try to print. I need something that just works. Since this is my second Epson WF printer and I'm about to throw this in the garbage after only several months, I will not be buying another one
