We bought two of these because the price was very good. Now I know why. They preformed horribly and we are returning both of them. We continue to loose connection over the network and via USB with these units and they appear to print and scan slower than our other brand name printers. First and last time I buy an Epson printer.

Disappointing as six months after minimal use, the scan function left gaping blanks in my PDFs. Printer head seemed to fritz shortly thereafter as well.

I'm afraid that a "poor"rating is a bit unfair, but there is not a rating that fits this situation. I opted to pick the printer up at the store. But when I got to the store, and the customer service rep brought the box out, I realized it was huge, Too huge for a nearly 70 year old woman to wrestle alone. At that point, I felt that I had no choice but to return the item and find something more manageable. Therefore, I have no idea how well this printer actually performs.

The print quality is mediocre at best, especially with colours. It doesn't switch on by itself when you send a print to it, you have to get up go over and switch it on. It can't handle cardstock in the trays, you have to manually feed one sheet at a time into the bypass try. That really sucks if you have a lot of stuff to print, standing feeding 20 sheets in to print one side, then again to print the other side sucks. Not recommended.

I had an admin password set. It worked for what it was intended and now that I no longer need the password set I went to remove it and I forgot what it was.. after research to reset the password I find you CANT! You must send it to the manufacturer to have them send you a refurbished unit? What is that all about? Very disappointed at this product now and nothing you can do about it.

Bought this when my HP died. Looked great, and I thought the 11x17 printing option would be useful... but had problems right away. First, it wouldn't connect with the Ink Replenish service, and then it started chewing up ink like it was going out of fashion. 349 pages printed in 1 month, to a cost of $162.34 in ink. Ridiculous.

For the price that I paid i should be able to print with no issue. All I have had is issues with this printer. It doesn't print o WiFi Direct. Then I buy a USB cable and it doesn't print when connected. It always says it is 'Offline' and I have called customer service several times. Each time we reset it and run the diagnostics and a week later it is back to not working.

Just replaced cartridges ($130.00) for the first time and now it's printing blank pages. Did the head test and cleaning multiple times. Purchased 1 1/2 years ago, just out of warranty. How convenient. Could have used the cost of ink to buy a new printer. Checked on line and this is a common problem with no resolution, literally!

If I knew this printer was going to guzzle ink, I would of avoided it at all cost. I have replaced the black cartridge twice in a month, and I do not print that often. Seems like as soon as you print 10 pages you get an error message that the ink is low or gone. Do not waste your money.

I researched many printers before buying this one, got it home unboxed it plugged it in and pushed the on button, nothing, it would not turn on. So I packed it up returned It and ordered another one. Same Model. Sometimes you buy something new and that particular one doesn't work, doesn't mean another will be bad to. Waiting for the next one to be delivered.

As a graphic designer, this large-scale printer has been on my wish-list (yet out of my price range) for years. My first thought when it arrived was, "wow, this is big", but that is the best part of it - I NEED it big to print spreads and enlargements, so I figure it's supposed to be large. The nice thing is, after unboxing and setting it up, it doesn't FEEL like it's a low-end printer, the price point actually seems low for this unit (not that users will mind that!). It's very solid, and I'm impressed with the quality of this unit compared to other printers I've had - even some more expensive ones. It even LOOKS nice. The setup was very easy, the first thing I did was connect it to my wifi network via the wizard installer, and that was a breeze. I did not use the disc (included), because I prefer getting the absolutely latest software from the manufacturer site, but that was very easy to find and install with no effort at all. Pleasantly surprised. (this process has come a LONG way since the printers of a few years ago.) The front trays are both flush with the front of the printer, but the bottom one will extend out to the front for the larger paper sizes, if you choose to keep that paper stored in tray 2. There is also a back-feeding tray for photos, which is nice, and means you can essentially have 3 different sizes and types of documents loaded and ready at all times - no need to swap paper out of the trays. The capacity of the trays are all significant, and the ADF is more than sufficient at 35 pages. I was impressed with the speed, yes it does take longer to print an 11x17 sheet of paper than letter size, but that's to be expected. It's 2x the size, afterall. No complaints here with that. The scanning speed was good, and I am excited about the prospect of being able to scan full spreads of larger documents and books - something that I've wanted for ages! The touchscreen is large and easy to read, the only nit-picky thing I should mention is a few of the icons were not intuitive, but once I played around with it for awhile, it all made sense. Printing from a PC laptop (even 4 rooms away), an ipad, and an android phone was super simple. Since I already have a different model of Epson printer, the Epson iPrint app for smartphones was already on my phone, so it found the new printer and just added it to the list of available printers. Sweet! I do think this is an excellent quality printer, and the price is right. It feels like a great value for what you're getting. Granted, I don't NEED to scan or print tabloid documents all the time, but the fact that I can when I need to, (and won't need to change paper in the trays often) makes this a huge benefit for me. This is a review for the Epson WorkForce WF-7720 Wide Format All-in-One Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.

Easiest Professional Grade Printer to Use

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

First off, I’ll start by saying I was a longtime Lexmark and HP printer user. Their products have always been the most difficult to setup, use by every member in my network, and not that affordable on ink (bad paper count to ink ratio). I’ll begin this review with the ease of setup and usability of the 7720. It is extremely easy to setup and to connect it to your network. After you connect it to your network, it’s already ready to use on your mobile devices and other computers. The Epson connect feature is great for printing because it is always ready to go, even when you are away. The auto-switching cassette tray feature where I can have my photo paper loaded in one tray and plain paper in the other is amazing! No longer have to switch between printers because one prints photos better than the other. Although, AirPrint still has a small issue asking for glossy paper for regular documents (through email app) so I just use Google Cloud Print or Epson’s iPrint when AirPrint is having issues on my iDevices. Again, this is not Epson’s fault, it’s Apple’s for not letting you choose the format of the print on some apps. Oh, that brings me to the quality portion of this review. Quality of document prints are SPECTACULAR. Very sharp and clear text. As a photographer, photo prints are no joke either. Better than the HP Photosmart I have been using. Vivid colors, sharp focus, and smooth bokeh. It certainly does use a lot of the initial ink that comes with the printer. More than likely going to be purchasing the XL ink packs once the initial packs run out. Cosmetic-wise this printer looks fairly small like in pictures. It takes up a little bit of space but just imagine stacking two small Canon printers and that's about how much of a footprint it leaves. Perfect size for home offices and businesses. No need for a huge lifesize printer when you've got this one. It is a little heavy but not too heavy to carry around a house if need be. Recommend two people though just to not slip and drop it. Maintenance costs seem remarkably low for this sort of printer. Standard size black ink starting at only $19.99, CMY pack for $36.99, and the maintenance box for $14.99. Very similar to the photosmart I was using but you get WAY more features, longevity, reliability, paper count to ink ratio, and it’s ten times easier to use. All in all, I’m sticking to the 7720 for all my office and professional photography printing needs. This is a review for the Epson WorkForce WF-7720 Wide Format All-in-One Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.

Epson asked me to update the software last week, and none of the software on the web that's available has been working. Some will print, but not scan. Others will scan, but not print, and the time to go from one to another is abominable. After less than a year of ownership, I'm dumping it and getting a different make.
