Movies amazing perfect 80s action flick from the legend himself

Outstanding edition of this 1981 Classic! Well done on the whole package! Artwork, imagery, picture and sound are superb. If you own the previous Blu-rays that have been issued in the past, you can recycle those now. This is a 4K restored edition and I believe all special features have been brought over to the Disc 3 included here. Slipcover is great. Artwork is on all 3 discs. I love that. I think every movie should be this way instead of the plain blue or gray Paramount seems to give theirs on some movies. Menus are good with easy selections. Highly recommend for all Kurt Russell fans! He would go on to do THE THING next in 1982 for John Carpenter.

John Carpenter's 1981 action classic comes to the UHD format with a very pleasing transfer that more than adequately handles the massive amount of nighttime scenes with great ease. Shadow and picture detail are first rate, and the audio tracks are also solid (bonus: the original theatrical audio!). The Shout/Scream Factory extras from the previous blu-ray special edition have all been included as well on a separate disc. As for the film itself, it's still a remarkably fun ride, one that made great use of its rather small $6 million budget. I never cared much for the 1996 follow up, but the original is one well worth owning and revisiting from time to time. Another winner from Shout/Scream Factory. Highly recommended.

A cult classic in every sense of the word. One of my favorite John Carpenter films, right next to The Thing. I've purchased this movie many times in practically every format. So when the 4K version was announced, I figured " why not", It'll be another trip down memory lane, and the experience is worth it, yet again. The 4K picture does not disappoint. It looks better than ever. Great sound too. It's all original and nicely executed. Put this 4K version in your collection. It's worth it.

This film is definitely shot dark but this is clearly the best the film has ever looked at home. If you're a fan and you have a 4K set up this is a no brainer. For some it will not be worth the double dip from Shout Factory's previous blu ray release. But if you're a stickler for the best possible picture like me, you'll have to get this 4K release. All the same awesome special features are ported over from the previous release.

Another must have Classic with Kurt Rusel playing as Snake in a post apocalyptic future that was an instant hit. Snake must sneak in to the now prison Island of NY and save the president and it’s not optional because he either saves the day and the president or fails and loses his life too and time is ticking

This release continues Shout Factory's pattern of releasing films that it already has released but with a 4K UHD disc upgrade included. The special features, which are identical to the Blu-ray release, are excellent. The upgrade to 4K is great.

I imported the first copy of this movie in 4K a couple of years ago and this is by far the best copy. Dolby Vision definitely makes the difference. Highly recommend!!!
