I would recommend the blue light one though since there are very few false detections. The red light is just to obtrusive with this detector.

I decided this time to purchase the hard wire kit and have the installers at the store install it. They did a wonderful job and now my unit comes on when I turn my car on. I also had them place the mute button under the steering column. Works great!

Many years ago I worked for a place with blue and yellow colors, I use to install car audio etc. So I was confident in my purchase. This is a great way to get the ugly cords and cables out of sight. I will add that I cannot believe that they didn't carry the basic "non" smart cord... anywho... I'm happy with my purchase.
