Live apps crash often on Android device and delay distance on X80 display screen. if app solves some issue, it should more happy to have one.

You plug it in, attach it to your windshield, it powers on and works. It beeps when it detects an officer of the law aiming his radar gun at me.

Simple: Long straight stretch from Las Vegas to PDX, multiple instances of no 'contact' from LE vehicles. It picked them up about a mile or so away & slowing down from 90+ to 70+ in a few seconds is not happening. Another example: Driving down 5 from pdx to cali, just out of Salem, straight stretch, passed LE & within a few seconds, I could see flashing lights on my rearview mirror. Luckily for me, the RV behind was following me at the same rate of speed & got tagged!!!. Lots of false alarms & this could be due to most of the cars having gazillion sensors around them; but still ...!!!. IMO, I think this unit would have been the cat's meow several years back; but in today's time, it is jaded. YMMV .. literally. This unit gives the user a false (sic) sense of protection imo.

Posted .Thank you for the feedback. It is possible the "no contact" instances were because of laser usage. If police are aiming a handheld device at cars, this is laser. Laser uses a fine beam so typically the only alert given is who is being targeted. For added protection against laser, try using the Escort Live app with its crowd sourced alerts. X80 wirelessly connects to the Escort Live via Bluetooth.

I have an Escort radar I’m my truck and really enjoyed it. So, I replaced the old one that she had in her car.
