It's the second one I got. The first one was not working correctly. It was not picking the edges of rugs at all and anything bigger than a sesame seed. The mop function didn't work at all. This new one is picking up things properly, it seems. I have not tried the mop yet.
Another thing I was not happy about was that the map was reset when I removed the old vac from the app and I had to remap.

Amazon unit... I love how quiet it is comparing to other "cleaning machines" in the house (even during the SES cycle). The mop is alright, but not super effective as expected comparing to those other Eufy models that's double the price. I avoid using it cause it tends to smear things around rather than "cleaning". I leave that test for the Bissel floor cleaner instead.

For many years I have owned a Neato robotic vacuum and absolutely loved them. The only reason I did not buy a new one was because the technology updates basically killed the vacuum. After my Neato died I decided to try another brand because of all of the neat bells and whistles the new ones had to offer. After reading all of the reviews I settled on the Eufy. I was initially impressed with the technology portion of the vacuum. It was easy to setup and the room mapping is amazing. That being said, that is where it stops for me. My Neato had some of the best vacuum suction I had ever seen. It rivaled with my Dyson upright vacuum. My Neato would make one pass and the floors were clean. However, the Eufy has less than stellar cleaning abilities. Although it sounds like it has a ton of power, it doesn't pick up dirt out of the carpets or even on hardwood and tile surfaces. At first I thought the unit may have been defective and reached out to customer service. After sending the required pictures and videos, they agreed that something was not right. They offered to replace the unit. When they first offered me a new unit, they offered me a cheap bottom line replacement, which was insulting. I refused and made them replace it with the X8 Pro that I had purchased. I received the new unit and debated on even opening it and just selling it. After a few days and looking at the reviews again, I decided to open it and give it another try. Big mistake. I should have just sold it. This one is no different than the previous one. Just vacuumed and it didn't pick up almost any of the dirt on the carpet. Same exact results, which is sad considering they even admitted that it wasn't performing well and replaced it. Needless to say, I am having regrets. These things are not cheap and should definitely work better than it does. Don't make the same mistake I did, find another brand. The only reason I am giving it 2 stars is because the technology is the best part. The app is super easy to use and I love how you can choose individual rooms to clean.

My goal for getting a robo vacuum was due to having few pets, our bedroom needed vacuumed every day. So, I washed a robot vacuum that would do it. The mapping features were good. Most everything was as advertised, but... It did not do a great job of getting pet hair off low pile carpet. It was not terrified, but not great. The worst part was after every use, I had to get the pet hair off the roller with scissors. Not with it for me

The vaccum portion of this machine works great. The mopping quality not so much. If you want to just do a light mop over it will suffice other I dont use the mop feature. It is louder than I like, since I run it at night, would prefer a quiter one. But for sweeping up the floor its great.

Automated Cleaning made Easy

The eufy X8 Pro Robotic Vacuum with Self-Empty Station has been a great addition to my house. It has completely revolutionized my cleaning routine. (yes and no)
The standout feature of the eufy X8 Pro is its Self-Empty Station. This innovative addition takes the hassle out of vacuum maintenance, allowing the robot to empty its dustbin automatically. Its pretty handy dandy however I don’t like the fact I have to buy vacuum bags again.
The Eufy X8 Pro utilizes advanced mapping technology to create an efficient cleaning route. It easily maneuvers around kids toys, chairs, corners, and various floor types, cleaning about 95% of the floor. Which is good enough for me and my family of 3 kids under 10.
One of the aspects I appreciate the most is the smart home integration. The eufyHome app provides complete control over the vacuum, allowing me to schedule cleanings, monitor progress, and even customize cleaning zones. Its compatibe with voice assistants like Alexa and Google Assistant which is cool for my kids but I don’t want my kids to abuse it.
The battery life of the eufy X8 Pro is good enough. My downstairs cleaning area is around 700 sq ft. I think the battery goes down to about 50% when its finished. I never check because I just let it clean and return to the dock.
Pros
Self-Empty Station:hands-free and hassle-free cleaning experience. However still need to empty the bag but not every time
Smart Home Integration: Seamless integration with the eufyHome app and compatibility with voice assistants (Alexa, Google Assistant) for convenient control.
Long Battery Life: Commendable battery life ensures the robot can clean the entire home on a single charge. Downstairs uses 50% battery up stairs around 40%
User-Friendly Design: Easy maintenance with accessible brushes and filters, coupled with a robust and durable build quality.
Cons
Price: Nice to have luxury, come at a premium, making the eufy X8 Pro a relatively expensive investment.
The app: While the app and smart home integration offer extensive customization, some users may find a slight learning curve to fully optimize the features.
Noise is ok: Like many robotic vacuums, the noise level might be noticeable, especially in quiet environments.
Limited Mop Functionality: As a vacuum-focused device, the eufy X8 Pro's mopping capabilities may be basic compared to dedicated robotic mops.
All the good and the bad I still recommend the Eufy X8 pro vacuum to anyone who is looking to automate cleaning.

Tell Alexa start cleaning and the vacuuming or mopping is one least thing you got to do that day. Cleans deep and faster everytime you start it. If everything remains in the original stated. If you move stuff around the never time will be faster.

It's been a little over a year since the purchase date. I may have used it 10-15 times. I noticed that the suction was not that great. I followed their instructions and increased the level and made sure no blockage. It just got worse. it would suck up anything. Eufy asked for my receipt and because it was over a year, they won't do anything. No fixing or replacing, just sorry. Expensive lesson.

I've been aware of Eufy's existence for several years, but never really considered them when looking at robotic vacuums for my home. If the X8 Pro is at all typical of their products this has been a massive mistake on my part. With an impressive tech loadout and a low-maintenance design, it stands as one of the best robotic vacuums I've ever used.
The first thing I always look at with these vacuums is their navigation. Like most LIDAR based units the X8 moves purposefully through your house, following a regular sweeping pattern. And it works quite well. The map it produced of my space was very accurate, and it moves deftly around obstacles without missing any spots. Given that the brush head is a bit more narrow than some designs it does need to overlap its own path a fair bit to get good coverage, which can lead to some spots being unintentionally skipped, but I saw no issues with this. The only area that gave me a bit of concern initially was the stairs, which the map did not correctly identify, but the cliff detection sensors did their job and kept it from falling over the edge.
Cleaning performance is also quite good. With how much suction it has it can perform very well even at lower power. A single pass was sufficient for everything save for the floor mats at the entryway, which needed three runs to get rid of all the accumulated grit. Best of all, it is quiet while it does it. I honestly expected the dual motors to make this vacuum scream but even at the highest power levels the noise level is low enough to be comfortably run with people in the house on a wide variety of surface types. The self empty station is a bit louder, but it works quickly so it's not too much of an issue. It does use a disposable filter bag, so there are some consumables you need to keep a supply of, but I do appreciate that they seem to be trying to use biodegradable materials for it.
There were only a few issues I had with the vacuum overall. First: the software experience does leave a bit to be desired right now. I ran into a bunch of minor bugs during the setup process with touch sensitive areas not being properly aligned with UI elements and at one point the robot accidentally started up a cleaning cycle when it was supposed to be mapping the floor and couldn't get back into mapping mode without forcing a restart. The flexible wire used to secure the mop pad also may be just a little too flexible for its own good: the first time I tried to line it up to put it back on it didn't go in at the right angle and I very nearly ended up tearing through the fabric. But software can be patched, and the pads can be revised. With any luck, these will end up being temporary downsides to what is otherwise a highly impressive robot for your home.

A Step-Up for Home Cleaning

I recently had the pleasure of experiencing the revolutionary Eufy X8 Pro Robotic Vacuum with Self-Empty Station, and I must say, it's a game-changer in home cleaning. This innovative device offers an array of features that set it apart in the market, most notably a 2-in-1 design that allows it to vacuum and mop.
Design and Build
The sleek and modern design of the X8 Pro, presented in a classic black color, enhances the aesthetic appeal of any home. Measuring 15.1 x 7.6 x 6.1 inches and weighing only 20 pounds, this vacuum effortlessly navigates through various spaces, ensuring thorough cleanliness.
Key Features
The standout feature of the Eufy X8 Pro is that it is a 2-in-1 device that can vacuum and mop. Mopping is accomplished via adding water and cleaning solution to the device’s tank and attaching the mopping attachment. Once this is done, the robot acknowledges the mop attachment and adjusts its mode of operation to include mopping.
A second key feature is its Self-Empty Station, coupled with its 2.5 L antibacterial bag that can store up to 60-days of dust in a 3-person household with no pets, 45 days with one pet and up to 30 days with two pets, making it an ideal choice for pet owners.
Additional features that make this robot vacuum ideal for pet owners include:
- 2 x 4,000 Pa suction to leave even deep carpets clean and hair free,
- A larger duct to increase airflow 40% over the X8 model,
- An active Detangling™ Roller Brush for tangle-free cleaning nearly eliminating the need to manually clean the robot.
Finally, the robot includes a child lock feature that will prevent curious children and pets from accidentally starting a cleaning session.
Performance
Equipped with Room-by-Room Navigation, Auto Docking and Recharging, and Multi Surface capability, the X8 Pro intelligently adapts to your home's layout, delivering a comprehensive clean. The ability to control multiple levels of suction for vacuuming and liquid dispersal for mopping adds to its versatility.
Convenience and Connectivity
The Eufy App offers an intuitive interface for device setup and management, allowing users to schedule and monitor cleaning jobs effortlessly. The Room Sequencing feature, accessible through the app, enhances the vacuum's efficiency in navigating through different rooms. However, it's worth noting that the robot can be chatty during operations, providing useful messages that may be missed as the app doesn't store them.
Quiet Operation
Operating at just 61 decibels, the X8 Pro ensures a quiet and unobtrusive cleaning process, allowing for a peaceful living environment.
Cons
While the Eufy X8 Pro impresses in many aspects, it's not without a few minor drawbacks. Firstly, the absence of a sample cleaning solution for mopping operations might inconvenience users who prefer a hassle-free start. Additionally, the robot's chattiness, while informative, lacks a feature in the app to retrieve missed messages, potentially leaving users in the dark about important updates.
Another consideration is the recommendation to adhere the waterproof pad to the floor with the Self-Empty Station. While this helps to protect the underlying floor, some users may find it inconvenient or unnecessary for their specific needs.
Warranty
Eufy stands behind the quality of their product, offering a 12-month warranty for both parts and labor, providing consumers with peace of mind.
In conclusion, the Eufy X8 Pro Robotic Vacuum with Self-Empty Station combines innovative features with efficient performance and user-friendly design. Despite a few minor drawbacks, its advanced capabilities make it a top choice for those seeking a hassle-free and effective cleaning solution. Highly recommended for anyone ready to embrace the future of home cleaning.

Falls Short of Great

I was familiar with eufy in relation to security cameras, doorbells, and other similar gadgets, but I had no idea they were in the robot vacuum business. Having the opportunity to test drive the X8 Pro, I went in with great expectations.
Set up is so easily done that once you have found a home spot for the X8, it is ready in minutes for the first charging session. I already had the eufy app, which saved a bit of time, and connecting to wi-fi was a snap. In addition, within those set up minutes, Alexa was added in seconds. If not the easiest device to set up in my experience, it would definitely be close to it.
After allowing the X8 full charging time, mapping downstairs was the first project. Mapping was done quicker than any bot vac I have had before. That said, I was concerned with accuracy. The map produced sort of resembles a multi-color Rorschach Test. Surprisingly, in operation it is pretty darn close. On wood or other hard floors and at Standard suction level, it is a little louder than the ones I already use. While cleaning, the X8 moves so quickly it does not seem to spend enough time actually cleaning. I put out some small pellets as a test. It picked up most of them, so I ran zone clean to try for the rest. It rushed through that while picking up the remainder….except one in the center of the zone.
Except for the bathrooms having rugs, the upstairs is all carpet. After mapping was quickly done there (Rorschach again), vacuuming was started on Standard. Quickly noticing it was not cleaning well, I changed to Turbo which was visibly doing a much better job. Also, because it was primarily working on carpets and rugs, operating noise was greatly reduced as expected. Vacuuming the upstairs hallway naturally brought the X8 to the “cliff” at the top of the stairs. It handled that situation perfectly! No fall!
The mopping function is as good as its competition. You put some water in the tank, install it into the vac body, and watch it go. It’ll drag a damp “mop” behind it. If you have dust or similar on the floor, it might help clean a tad better. So, it’s neither better nor worse than other brands.
Self-dumping is a great feature, and the X8 has it. However, its bin is not one you can easily slip out and empty. The X8’s bin houses a disposable bag! Retro is fine for some things, but not for vacuums. Being able to go bagless has pretty much been the standard for quite some time. It’s easier, cleaner, and healthier. Also, the X8 will require a continuing investment in bags, albeit small. It’s still a step backward.
All in all, the X8 Pro is easy to set up and easy to operate with an uncomplicated app. It does an overall good job of vacuuming. Mapping is good, even if it doesn't appear as such on the map created for view. Cleaning is good, but not great. Self-dumping is great, but the actual receptacle is not. On paper the X8 has promise of excellence; but, unfortunately, it falls short in application.

I’ve used the Eufy X8 robot vacuum for a week now and I’m impressed by it. I’ve had an iRobot M6 mop and i3+ vacuum so I have something to compare this to. You get a 2 in 1 vacuum and mop with a self-empty station. There is a bag included in the empty station that is already installed and ready to go. The initial setup was easy and once plugged in and charged all you need to do is install the EufyClean app on your phone and go through the process to add your device.
The initial mapping run was quick. It only took the robot about 10 minutes to map the 1st floor of our home. I was able to setup no-go zones and no-mop zones, however I did run into an issue trying to merge a bedroom and bathroom into 1 room in the map. No matter what I tried it just would not combine the rooms. Hopefully an update to the app in the future will fix this. I was able to setup all the other rooms, name them, and assign them a cleaning order. Scheduling was simple and I was able to create a “Do Not Disturb” timeframe to keep the vacuum and base station from running. This process was very easy compared to the same process involving the iRobot.
The 1st cleaning run took about 80 minutes on a combination of wood floors, tile, and carpeting. The X8 has a twin turbine setup giving it good suction, but it was also very quiet. Much quieter than my old iRobot. I have several cats so there is usually a good bit of hair around the house and the X8 did a great job picking it up, even on the carpet. It did a great job, but it wasn’t perfect. The X8 pushed around our pet’s food bowls and even got on-top of one and I had to lift-up the vacuum to get it off the plate. It also ran over some fresh cat throw-up, so the obstacle avoidance isn’t the best. Once done, the X8 returned to the base station and emptied itself. Even the base station was quieter in comparison than the iRobot. After a week of vacuuming, I never had a problem with hair clogging or winding around the brush. The X8 has a detangling feature, but I never had to use it because the brush never got tangled. The X8 did a much better job, especially on the carpet, than the iRobot. Even my wife remarked how much cleaner the floors got with the X8.
To mop the floor I had to attach the mop base and a mix of add water and cleaning solution to the tank. The X8 only comes with 1 cleaning pad, I wish it came with 2. The moping function of the X8 works just as well as the vacuum feature and did a better job than our old M6. With the iRobot it would go a few feet, backup, spray, and continue for a few feet and repeat the process. With the X8 it continually moves as it puts the cleaning solution on the floor, so the process goes much faster. The X8 held enough solution for it to finish our 1st floor in a single run. I had to get some of the heavier messes out by hand since they required some scrubbing, but the X8 did a great job of giving the floor a nice clean look with minimal streaks.
I couldn’t be happier with this vacuum. It’s quiet and it does a great job cleaning the floor and it keeps my wife and I from having to do it ourselves. It’s a real time saver.

The Robot Vac you Deserve!

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
I was skeptical of the eufy X8 Robotic Vacuum since eufy is not well known for these and there's a brand that is supposedly the gold standard. This is definitely a quality robot Vacuum! Picks up pet hair (golden retriever and long haired cat) without issue. Self empties when the onboard bin gets full, then goes right back to where is was to continue. Setup is easy. Taking my time it took about 45 minutes for setup and that includes the App. You can name your Vac, set boundaries, set zones and see battery charge. You can set a cleaning schedule so it works when you're not home. The eufy vac is surprisingly quiet. Yes it makes noise, but nearly as much as the competition. While it does a good job of getting around, I have found that in some odd shape tight spaces, like the trapezoid shape behind doors, it will sometimes get stuck. The bump sensors are touchy so that it doesn't knock things off when hitting table legs or tv trays. The self empty feature is great and makes cleanup a breeze. Though you do have to do some onboard maintenance as would be expected. Transitions from carpet to bare floor and back are seamless.
If you;re in the market for a good pet hair capable auto vac robot, this is the one you need.
