    Excellent Vacuum, Weak Mopping

The Eufy X8 Pro SES vacuum is a terrific mapping robovac with a self empty station (hence SES). Short answer, it does a terrific job on the pair hair and other outside detritus our two dogs manage to deposit all over the floor. Now if only it would get the sofa cushions... Out of the box, there is the X8 Pro, Charging/Empty Station, mopping accessories, and the usual paperwork. Almost all of the packaging is cardboard, which earns points for recyclability. Plug in the Charging/Empty station, get the robovac charging, and take the opportunity to download the Eufy_clean app (Android/IOS). Connect the Eufy X8 to your wifi network and you're ready to go. NOTE: the X8 requires 2.4ghz wifi band, so make sure it's enabled on your access point. At this point, turn it loose and let it map out your house. Programming options are pretty good. Once mapped, you can set the area to be cleaned, set the vacuum power, and the number of times to traverse the area, all from the app. Our house is a split level home with tile, wood, linoleum, and carpeted floors, with about 1300 sq ft on one level and 400 sq ft on the other. This presents a significant challenge to robovacs, since they don't handle steps other than to avoid them. Up until now, we've had one robovac, two maps, and manually carried the robovac back and forth. This has obvious limitations. We added the Eufy X8 to handle the lower level. Two dogs and associated dog toys complete the challenge. Our house (well, floor) is cluttered with the usual detritus of living: furniture, power cords, backpack, purse, the odd shoe, a constantly changing landscape of living. The Eufy X8 Pro has handled it all admirably. We have sent it out several times to vacuum. Each time it has updated the map in the app with that day's obstacles. Each time it has done a good job of picking up all the dog hair. It does an excellent job on the edges, a common problem area for robovacs. So far, the X8 hasn't stalled on any objects and the vacuum brush hasn't had tangles or buildup, all good signs. I'm a fan of self emptying docking robovacs, it makes cleanup a lot easier and makes it possible to let the unit run for a few days without cleaning every time. The X8 Pro SES empty station has a disposable bag that is claimed to last for 30-60 days of cleaning. This of course depends on the dog's ability to fill it. But thus far, it seems reasonable. Mopping is a weak point. There is a plastic 'shield' that goes under the empty station that keeps the water from accumulation on your floor. You first add the mopping accessory to the bottom of the X8. Then when wanting to mop, open the top of the X8, add water to the mopping container, and turn it loose. It doesn't lift the mop over rugs, so you either have to take up throw rugs or add 'no-go' zones to the map. It also doesn't seem to scrub the mop at all, just drag the mop around. Also, the mop has to be removed and cleaned manually, there is no cleaner at the self-empty station. Good for a once in a while quick mop, but otherwise disappointing. All told, the Eufy X8 Pro SES is a terrific vacuum with an bonus occasional mopper tossed in. I'd definitely recommend it for your consideration, especially if you don't need the mopping capability. This would have been a five start review if it had been a vacuum only.

The Eufy X8 Pro is my second robot vacuum. I’ve used another brand for several years, and I’ve been very happy with it, so I was curious to learn how the Eufy compared. The short answer is very positively… I’ll explain why. The Eufy setup was very straightforward and done almost entirely through the well-designed smart phone app. Admittedly, during setup I entered the incorrect Wi-Fi network password, requiring me to restart the process, but that was my mistake. Once the configuration was done a Eufy firmware update was required followed by a few-hour charging process. After these setup tasks, the excitement began 😊. I launched the Eufy mapping process from the phone app and it was pretty amazing to watch the robot traverse my home and see the real-time generation of the floorplan/map. It seems like the process was extremely efficient as it somehow stayed within one room at a time (as opposed to randomly traveling all over the house), finding walls and filling in from there before progressing to the next room. In less than an hour the entire mapping was complete, and I used the extremely user-friendly app to name rooms and assign no-go zones like the fireplace. The Eufy was ready to begin vacuuming. Over the course of the week I’ve owned it, I’ve cleaned single rooms and combinations of rooms. In all cases the Eufy reliably started and efficiently completed the process. Not once has it gotten trapped, so it’s been a completely independent process, and of course that should be the goal of a robotic vacuum! The Eufy does a great job vacuuming, and in my opinion that’s what it’s designed to do well. I also tried the mopping function, but I’m not a fan. It’s a bit of a clumsy process to install the map attachment and add water, and the value of the Eufy’s mopping isn’t worthwhile to me. The Eufy is a great robotic vacuum which I strongly recommend to buyers who are considering such a device!

Clearly robot vacuums have become all the rage as of late. Combine them with cats and you have a viral Youtube video. All of that is great, but the primary duty is to vacuum. With that said, the eufy - X* Pro Robotic Vacuum passes the test with flying colors...when vacuuming. The design is simple, but smooth. Set up on the device was super simple. Like most devices nowadays, download the software, connect to the network, you're good to go. The mapping process was even easier. You can place additional boundaries if you'd like. My place isn't too large, but I'd imagine even for large places it's easy as long as you get loose items out of the way. When it comes to actual vacuuming, the X8 gets the job done. I was a little nervous regarding the strength of the vacuum. I've purchased "new age" all-in-one vacuums previously, and it came up short in regards to getting up mess. I was forced to vacuum again with my old vacuum. With the Eufy - X8 Pro I can let it do it's thing and forget about it. The vacuum does a solid job of self-emptying as well. I wish the bags were meant to be reused, but if the vacuum does everything else itself, you can only complain so much. In regards to mopping...it mops, just don't expect it to get up any real stains. For upkeep, it's cool. I'd recommend for real stains, spot clean, then let the eufy - X8 Pro handle the rest. As someone who's spent most of their life purchasing basic vacuums, the eufy - X8 Pro Robotic Vacuum is defiantly a step up. I'd strongly recommend it to anyone.

Setting up my Eufy X8 Pro was a breeze. Connected to the Eufy clean app first try. Got on wifi and updated firmware to latest. The app itself is a delight to use. Its intuitive layout and clear navigation make it easy to find any feature or setting I need. Whether I want to start a cleaning session, adjust cleaning parameters, or monitor my vacuum's status, I had no issues using it. Well done! I was extremely impressed with the speed and accuracy of the X8 Pro's mapping capabilities. It surpassed any other robot vacuum I've used by a significant margin. All it took was a single pass through each room, and the job was done! At first I was concerned that it had failed and was returning to its base station prematurely. However, upon inspecting the map in the app, I realized that the mapping process was indeed complete. The X8 Pro's utilization of lidar "laser" technology sets it apart from those that rely on random bump or camera-based navigation methods. Its sooo much better. The app provides a live view of the robot's movements, allowing you to monitor its progress and observe the areas it has already covered. The only real issue I had with it was that during floor mapping it kept falling off a small drop in one of my rooms so I had to put up a temporary wall to prevent it from falling. Once it was done mapping I just drew a no-go line there and that resolved it going forward. It had no issues with normal sized steps. After the floor is mapped you can start using it. The X8 Pro delivers great vacuuming performance and navigation. Its large front-facing camera ensures smooth and efficient cleaning. I noticed it didn't bump into objects and walls as much as other robots I've used. And equipped with twin turbine motors, one on each side, the X8 Pro delivers powerful suction while maintaining a relatively quiet operation. It boasts 4 vacuum suction performance modes to cater to your specific cleaning needs, along with 3 water performance modes for mopping. Additionally, it includes a auto ramp-up feature that automatically adjusts suction power when transitioning from hard floors to carpet. While this feature is quite useful, I noticed a slight delay of around 8 seconds for the ramp-up to kick in. I was skeptical by how small the dust bin was on this robot but with the self empty capability it hasn't been an issue. Just wish they would have included some extra filters or bags in the box since your going to eventually need more. With every run it will vacuum/mop, de-tangle the brush, then return to its base and empty the bin into the bag. It has a metal claw like piece built into the roller housing to remove tangled stuck on hair. This has always been a maintenance thing I've had to do on my other robots so love to see this feature included. It must be working because I haven't had to manually remove hair from the roller yet. In my testing, the self-emptying feature worked flawlessly as well. The vacuum emptied itself completely each time it returned to the station, and there was no mess or debris left behind. In the future I would love to see a bag less self empty option like most handheld vacuums have so you can just dump it out after it fills up. Mopping performance is ok. You can use it with or without the mop head. Moping does requires a little bit of prep and maintenance. You need to fill the tank with water and then attach the mop head. After use, the mop head needs to be removed and the microfiber cloth washed. Mopping performance is adequate for basic floor cleaning. Its just dragging a wet microfiber cloth across the floor but repeated passes can effectively clean the surface. If you want a better mop you might want to look at the X9 which has spinning mop heads. Connecting mine to Google Assistant was seamless using the Google Home app. I can now use voice to active cleaning sessions but the one thing that was a bit annoying is that no matter what you name your robot you always have to call it "Robovac" instead of its actual custom name. OK Google, start RoboVac or OK Google, ask RoboVac to start cleaning. Be better if Eufy would enhance this so we could use the actual name we gave the robot instead of RoboVac. Pros: Uses both lidar and camera Self empty capability Great suction due to dual turbine motor Uses a softer hybrid brush instead of all hard rubber brush Uses a side spinning brush Has hair de-tangle mode App works well and lots of options Supports multiple rooms & no-go lines Works with google assistant and alexa Cons: Doesn't react to smaller drops No extra filters, bags, or mop cloth included in box Mopping functionality is pretty basic No cable management in base station For me the Eufy X8 Pro checks all my must haves for a robot vacuum. Its combination of powerful suction, smart navigation, self empty, and intuitive app makes it an excellent choice for those seeking a top-notch cleaning solution. I'm pretty picky about these things and this robot gets a thumbs up from me.

So I've been thinking about getting a robovac for years now and have finally gotten one with the eufy - X8 Pro Robotic Vacuum with Self-Empty Station and am so happy! My floors have never been so consistently clean! My magical little helper that I can send to do its task whenever I need it to or on a set schedule. I think I'm glad that I waited so that the tech could advance, because the setup and use of this robovac is sooo easy! Getting things out of the box and setup was super simple. Download the Eufy app from the app store, find a good spot for the empty/recharge station, plug in the station and turn on the vac to connect to the app on your phone. The app quickly walks you through the process of connecting to your home wifi and to the vacuum. It walks you through the various things you can do with the app which has a very simple and easy to use interface. Once you've went through the house and picked up items that might get in the way of the vac it's time to send it on a mapping discovery mission. This is really cool as you watch it go around every place it can get to and draw a map in real-time on your app screen. Once it's finished mapping out the floor of your house you have it setup in it returns to its base and starts charging. Mine was about 40% charged out of the box, so I let it charge to about 65% or so and then sent it on its first cleaning mission. It's really neat watching it do its job lol My cats were quite interested in it and slowly followed it around the house as it did its work. It takes about 35 minutes to do my 375 sq ft area that I've set it to vacuum on my main level. It used about 40% of its charge on the normal suction setting, returned to its base, emptied itself and then started recharging. I have a parrot that likes to drop seeds on the floor, and it picks all of those up like a champ and underneath my bed has never been so dust free! Does a great job picking up the cat hair as well. The app lets you do an auto vacuum which does the entire mapped out area, or you can pick just certain rooms or you can select just an area of the map you want it to go and vacuum which is super handy with my parrot!! I just draw an area around his cage and send it to go pickup the seeds! The vacuum has 4 suction levels and it does a good job even on the normal setting. If you need more suction you can ramp it up and use more battery power but the vacuum will return to its base and recharge then go back to where it left off once it's charged! Charging time isn't super-fast but isn't too bad either. The battery level goes up a couple percent every few minutes. Fast charging would be a nice feature to add at some point. This unit does use bags in the empty station. Eufy did send me a code for 2 free bags which is nice. Only one bag is provided with the unit out of the box. I wouldn't have minded if the unit was bagless as obviously there is a cost to replace the bags when they fill up. The bags are available on the Eufy website for $18.99 per two bags. Depending on your amount of stuff on the floor to pickup will determine how long it takes to fill up. The vacuum does a good job of detecting hard surfaces in its way, but you'll want to try and keep cords out of its way as it can end up dragging cords that get caught underneath it if they are loose and have a lot of play in them. The app allows you to set No Go zones if you want to avoid certain things like cords. The roller will attempt to unclog itself if it gets something stuck. The vacuum handles uneven surfaces quite well. If it does get stuck it will alert you audibly if it can't get free. It gets over my hardwood floor to rugs with ease and going into my bathroom which has bumpy tile floors. It did get stuck on one of the bumps once although has avoided getting stuck many other times. The unit also comes with a mopping module attachment that you put on when you want to mop. It has a small water tank in front of the vacuum and a mop pad that you can attach when you want to use it for mopping. It wetens the pad and you can adjust the water level in the app. 3 settings of wetness levels. You'll want to go into the floor map and put no go zones for where you have carpeting or other areas you don't want to be mopped so it requires a bit more setup than just vacuuming. It does a decent job on my hardwood floors, but honestly am more interested in the vacuuming aspect of the unit on a day-to-day basis. Overall I'm really enjoying this new addition to my home. It's the first robot device I've owned and it really does simplify my life. I was at work the other day and pulled up the app and sent it on a cleaning mission and was able to watch its progress on the map. :)

The Eufy RoboVac X8 Pro is a second tier robotic vacuum cleaner that offers a lot of power, AI smarts, and convenience. The X9 Pro model sits above the X8 Pro. It is one of Eufy’s most expensive robot vacuums, but it is still considerably cheaper than models from other brands with the same features. The main difference seems to be Adaptive Pressure Mopping with Dual Rotating Mops, Auto-Clean Station with Heated Drying, and the increased suction. I'd say the X8 Pro probably more than enough for most people that need the floor clean on weeks that they can manually vacuum and mop. The X8 Pro and the base station are very nice looking and have a modern design that fits well into most home decor. It's not as super slim as some other models, but I don't expect it to considering all the features. I keep it tucked away in a small space near my kitchen and blends in great. It comes equipped with what they call Dual-Cyclone technology (twin turbines). The vacuum has pretty decent suction and cleans pretty thorough. It has four does have suction power levels including the last "turbo" type of level that helps with the transition from hard floors to rugs. However, it does not always pick up 100% of debris and its mopping feature is not as effective in handling heavy-duty messes. The vacuum's intelligent features include AI and LiDAR sensor for intelligent mapping and navigation, allowing it to learn the layout of your home for efficient cleaning. It can detect and avoid obstacles when vacuuming, though, it cannot automatically prevent itself from mopping carpets and rugs. Boost IQ feature lets it know when its on a carpet or rub to increase suction but you will need to manually create ‘no-go zones’ for the robovac to skip mopping over carpets and rugs. The vacuum links up with an okay app. The app is my least favorite part of the experience. Certain processes take too many steps and are not simply laid out in the app. For example, you will have to turn on a setting and create separate maps for each floor, if you have multiple floors in your home. That's not too bad but to command the robovac to auto-clean a specific floor requires you to go several steps in the settings menu to select the floor and then you can auto-clean that floor. The app does have shortcuts for self-emptying, going home, and changing suction modes. The are a few things that could make it more efficient and convenient. As for the self-emptying, the dust canister compresses the debris to ensure as much as possible can be collected before it needs emptying. The base station does require a dust debris bag that must be replaced after it's full. The robovac is equipped with a sizable water tank for mopping. The rechargeable battery is supposed to last for about 180 minutes but I haven't timed it. The Boost IQ feature will automatically increase the suction level when it detects carpet. In conclusion, the Eufy RoboVac X8 Pro is a smart, slick, and effective robotic vacuum cleaner that is perfect for the majority of medium to large houses. It offers a range of intelligent features and powerful performance, making it a worthwhile investment for those seeking convenience and time off from their home cleaning chores. The customer support on the vacuum has been excellent. They were responsive and quick to replace my first V8 Pro that would not accept a firmware upgrade. I'm going to guess that vacuum firmware was corrupted at some point and could not recover. This can be a crucial factor for potential buyers, and knowing that they have reliable support and warranty can make the decision to buy easier to make.

This Eufy X8 Pro Robotic Vacuum has really been nice to have around the house. Fully automated and programmable robot vac to assist in the everyday cleanup and take one thing off the to-do list. Cleaning Performance: This unit does a fabulous job on all the surfaces we have in our house. We have it all; mostly hardwood, some tile, a little bit of carpeting, and many different size rugs scattered throughout. This does a great job of finding its way around and effortless transitions to the different flooring types automatically. Its ability to handle various debris is quite impressive as well. I can easily handle larger stuff like candy, cereal, and beads, but also good for pet hair, as well as routine dirt and dust. Navigation and Mapping: The navigation system in this unit seemed to learn our floor plan quickly and efficiently. This can navigate through multiple rooms around the house without getting stuck too frequently and always finds its way back to base. It has completely mapped my home and now takes the best routes for utmost cleaning efficiency and obstacle avoidance. You can also set no-go zones using virtual boundaries to keep it out of any specific areas you don’t want it disturbing. Battery Life: Battery life seems adequate for the main floor of our house. The ground floor where we use this is about 2800 sq ft and now that it has learned/mapped our floorplan the unit can cover pretty much all of it and then return to base when it gets low. As I mentioned, always finds its way back to the base somehow. Self-Empty Station: Really like this feature. It is an effective and more sanitary means of emptying the vacuum. My biggest complaint of previous robot vacs has been SMALL debris canister on the unit itself so this one being able to empty itself and then keep going is a real plus in my book. The self-empty station has a 2.5-liter antibacterial deodorizing dust bag that needs attention only every 45 days, much less frequently than if you were emptying the vacuum unit every time it filled up – very convenient. Smart Features: Eufy Clean app for remote control and scheduling is super easy to setup. User interface is intuitive and straightforward. The vacuum and app map out the entire floorplan and then allow you to set those boundaries and no-go zones if you so desire. Again, very simple and straightforward to do and really tune in the vacuum to fit your needs and cover what you’re wanting to get cleaned. Maintenance: The vacuum actually has several self-cleaning features/functions to go along with the self-empty station so the maintenance has been basically nothing for me so far. Just empty the larger self-empty station canister every 45 days and that has been it. Filters on all need to be checked and cleaned or replaced periodically but I’ve not had to in the few weeks I’ve had mine. Noise Level: The noise level produced by the vacuum during operation is a reasonable 61 decibels. Not whisper quiet but not very loud. Build Quality and Durability: Overall build quality and durability of the robot vacuum and the self-empty station seem quite solid and durable. They have a nice heavy feel and look to them that I would assume should likely outlast the usable battery life in the unit. Price: The price point seems in line with other robot vacs with similar features offered by other similar models on the market. There is a less expensive version without the self-empty station but after getting to use this one the self-empty station is simply a much have and I wouldn’t go without.

The technology of robot vacuums has advanced so much since they were first introduced and the Eufy X8 Pro is a great example of forward progress. While there are a few hiccups with the X8 Pro that I ran into during testing, the end result was always a cleaner home without the help of human intervention. My residence is a small 1300 SF single story family home with a lot of open space in the main living areas. The obstacles that the robot had trouble with were mainly chairs. It would go under the chair and would get stuck in some occasions but made it out on others. If it does get suck, the robot essentially pleads for help with it's built in speakers or through the app via a notification. I did run into an instance where I didn't clear the floor appropriately and it sucked in a rag seizing the roller brush. At this point, the robot asked for help clearing the roller brush and was on it's way. Digital Map The X8 Pro creates a digital map of your home and through the app you can create "no go zones" where the robot is off limits. This is very useful when you only want the robot to focus on one zone in your home while you're away to avoid any possible obstacles that may need human intervention. Self Emptying Tower What really sets this model apart is the ability to empty the dirt and debris automatically at the charging station. Once it's docked, the dirt and debris gets sucked into the tower and collects it in a bag. The roller brush also initiates an untangling sequence in case there is hair or something tangled on the roller brush that would affect performance. Battery Life The robot is able to clear the entire house while still having greater than 30% battery life which is plenty of life to get back to it's charging dock. Suction Power This vacuum has an auto suction power feature that the robot initiates when there is a heavier presence of dirt and needs greater power. You can also adjust this on the app so that it's always at its highest suction or keep it at its lowest suction. Keep in mind though that the greater the suction power, the faster the robot will lose its charge. Mop Feature There is a mop attachment that you can utilize but I found that manual mopping has always outperformed the robot vacuum just due to the amount of water it can hold and the inability of the robot to product pressure on the surface it's cleaning to get rid of anything that may have hardened on the floor. Overall, the X8 Pro has saved me precious time throughout the day allowing me to run other errands that a robot cannot handle. It's simple to set up and with a push of a button, the robot will clear my home of all the dreaded pet hair and dirt/debris that has accumulated from the foot traffic throughout the day. I run it everyday and couldn't be happier with a cleaner home.

Using this robot vacuum on the 2nd floor of my house which is mostly carpet with 3 tile bathrooms. A little unexpected surprise about this vacuum is that it will also mop, I was not aware of that until I unpacked the mopping attachment from the box. This unfortunately wasn't the perfect solution for me even with that added feature because it will run out of battery power before completing the entire upstairs area. Looks like it can do about 650sq/ft before running out of steam and having to return home. It will do as much as it can and then return to the charging/emptying station but for some reason there is no auto-resume or manual option to resume cleaning. You either have to finish vacuuming yourself or manually select the areas the robot didn't clean the next time you open the app and the vacuum is charged. Hopefully that can be fixed in a future software update but just a little disappointing with the logic on that. Otherwise the areas that it does clean it does well enough especially if you are willing to still occasionally vacuum yourself for more of a deep clean. Certainly not the most powerful vacuum I've ever seen but it does have enough to fluff the carpet up a little bit. The self emptying feature is nice but the one thing to be determined for me is how often do you have to buy the bags for it. They aren't very large and aren't extremely cheap so we will hope this convenience factor doesn't have too high a price associated with it. Was able to map out my area quickly, much quicker than some of the other robot vac's I've tried over the years. Seems fairly intelligent and hasn't managed to get itself stuck yet. Overall if you are looking for a robot vac that can do a little bit of everything with minimal maintenance on your end I would recommend considering this X8 Pro from Eufy.

I've used a more "primitive" robotic vacuum , as in it seemed to bumble around the floors instead of "learning" the room which this one appears to have done. We have cats and a dog, so this is awesome to get the hair and dander up , but admittedly (this is not an issue with the vac, rather, ME!), I am paranoid about letting it run on a schedule due to my dog and it's advanced age. It inadvertently will leave a "gift" on the floor, and I am scared to death of having the vac run said "gift" over and it distributing it throughout the house, so, I manually kick-off a vacuum cycle when I am 100% sure that it's safe to run. I've noticed a huge difference in the cleanliness of the floors when walking bare-footed on the tile floors after it runs. Not having to manually empty the vac is a MUCH appreciated addition to my previous one as well ! Just a few years since the previous one I have came out - the advances in robotic vacuums are huge - I can't wait to see what comes next! Definitely a must-have device!

A bit tricky to set up. Instructions that come with it are inadequate so I had to supplement with online info. Once it was set up it worked great and was quiet as well.

I was able to make it over a month without having to empty the station. The mapping is very impressive allowing me to pick "no go zones", like my desk. It did a great job both as a mop and a vacuum. Being able to detangle hair out of the roller brush saves me a tone of time.
