We purchased it, thinking it had local stored memory, but once we got home we did more research and found that the only issue we had was that its cloud stored and not local and has the chance of people opening your camera from their computer.

Best Buy is giving me the hardest time to exchange the one that didn’t work. I’m still trying to get the exchange and get the whole system up and running. I had a very bad experience with the product and Best Buy. Awful customer service!

Happy For A Month

I contacted the company directly and I wasn't happy then I tried to get a refund from Best Buy and it was refused. Almost $700 lost, never again.

Here We Go Again

Unfortunately, I'm experiencing the same problems with this new product! Seriously? I have this set up exactly the way I want, and this freaking thing still won't do what it's made to do! It's supposed to record up to 60 seconds of video as long there's motion within its view. And yet, it doesn't seem to record no more than 9 SECONDS while there's still motion activity right in front of the camera!!! Sheesh! For $550, you would think it would do the one job it was made to do!! So, here we go again! Another below average rating for the "infamous" eufyCam!!

Poor Coverage

Do Not Recommend

Camera Die after 2 weeks

|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.To get it out of the way early, this is a fantastic system that does just about everything right. I could not be happier. Set-up was very, very simple. You are walked through each step, and I had zero issues. A button press or two, some app navigation, and a scan, and that is pretty much it. Once the base is up, adding cameras is just a few more button presses in the app. From there, the physical installation is more of the same. One of the main reasons I have put off cameras was “where to put them/how to put them/ how to power them.” Frankly, I was kind of blown away how eufy tackled all of these things with this setup. Given the wireless cams, I was able to get the placement I wanted with really no hassle at all. You get all of the necessary mounting parts and all it really took me was 4 screws. Once I mounted the two bases, you mount the cam “arms/adapters” I guess you could call them, and then you connect the cameras to them (there is a magnet system which can alert you to camera removal/theft). The adapters have ball mounts which allow you to get the exact view you want, which makes the whole process so easy. I can’t really get across how simple of a process all of this was. My other previous concern was how to power any camera I was looking to use. I really did not want to run power or have wiring in my desired locations. Here, the cameras are rated to have not only batteries that last a year on their own (they are bit large), BUT, they also have active solar panels on them that are suggested to need only 2 hours of direct sunlight a day to essentially “run forever.” Now, while early results suggest this seems to be a valid claim, I will need to see how this holds over time. Regardless, the long run battery and solar panels are features that I really appreciate. As are the inclusion of a spotlight, alarm (it can get pretty loud), and two-way audio (it works rather well). Simple, but great adds that really round out the security “package” being offered here. As great as the set-up/install was, the cameras themselves were just as good if not better. The cameras output great video. It is crisp, detailed, and bright. Day or night. I did not expect such nice footage from the night capture but was very pleased since that was what I was mostly looking for. The picture is fantastic, but I think what really allows this system to shine is the software and its integration of the hardware with the eufy app. There are loads of settings to allow you to dial everything in just the way you want it. Zones. Movement. Alerts. Face set-up/detection. Car detection. Pet detection. You can get as many or as few alerts as you want (they are very timely). Generally speaking, errors are few and far between, and the software really shines. The app is simple to use, built well, gives you great control and insight, and gives you the entire system at your fingertips. While ALL of what I have already stated are reasons to like this system, perhaps the biggest (for me at least), is that you can do all of this without being on a “plan.” Yes, you can get some added cloud benefits for a price, but you can use this system and get all of the utility as is, out of the box. Further, while it is not “needed,” you can (and I did) add an additional hard drive to the base unit to give you all the storage, more or less, you could ever want. It is becoming harder and harder these days to find such things, and it is a refreshing change. Ultimately, as I said, I really could not be happier with this system. Easy set-up. Easy install. Great cameras. Great software. Feature-rich. Control, with no subscription needed. I think my only “complaint” is I want a couple of more cameras.

Great wireless security system!

One nice thing about wires NVR systems is that you do not have to worry about charging the cameras or paying for a subscription. However, wireless cameras are typically easier to set up and can be placed just about anywhere, but many of them require a subscription for online storage and have to be charged. I believe these Eufy cameras were made to reduce some of those concerns and bridge the gap between the two. Setting up these cameras is a fairly simple process. The base station comes with 16GBs of storage which is enough for multiple days’ worth of storage based on settings and activity. However, you can drop in a 2in hard drive and easily expand this storage. I personally put a 2TB hard drive and this allows me to have months’ worth of video coverage stored without having to overwrite that. Eufy also gives you the option to pay for cloud-based storage which also includes other benefits such as 24/7 advanced monitoring. The cameras come with all the hardware needed for mounding and can easily be screwed into your house within minutes. I have my base station on one side of my house and a camera on the complete other side outdoors and there are no connection issues at all. The range is superior. Since this is a wireless system, they cameras are battery powered. One of my favorite features is that they have mini solar panels on the top of each camera to help them charge up a few percent per day. Eufy claims they will last 365 days. Although I have only been testing them for about a week, I am down to 93% battery. The way my house sits they are not able to get the most sunlight. However, I still think even if they can last 3-6 months that is a decent length of time. If you live somewhere that gets a lot of sunlight or are able to put it in a better spot more directly in the sunlight then I have no doubt you would never need to charge these cameras. These cameras have 4K video quality capability and many smart features. One of my favorite features is that you are able to add a picture of someone and then it will detect when it sees that person. I have added myself and other members of my family and overall, it is good at recognizing when it sees that person. It also does a great at recognizing vehicles, animals, and humans and you are able to filter out notifications from each category if you would like. I only found two downsides to these cameras and it could be user error but no matter what I tried I was not able to fix the issue. The first is that when it is dark out, the cameras have a harder time picking up motion. During the day I did not have any issues but if I walked in front of the cameras during the night it was hit or miss on whether or not it picked me up even when I turned the motion detection to max sensitivity. The other issue is that I was hoping to utilize the spotlight feature but the only setting I was able to find had it flashing when it detected motion. I was looking for it to have a solid spotlight when it detected motion during the night. Again, it could be user error and I am continuing to try and play with the settings. If you are in the market for cameras and are looking for a highly capable system then I would definitely take a look at the Eufy Cam. These cameras are easy to set up, easy to use and are versatile and can be used without limitations. One of my favorite features is that if you do not want to pay for a monthly service, then you can still monitor them through the app and all of the footage is stored on the home base.

I have a total of four most of them have given me trouble from not charging going off-line and other things earlier last year. It was easy to get a hold of customer service now you can’t just go online they don’t respond back, I would not consider these cameras like most manufactures they like to sell promises which they can’t keep there is one review says do not hesitate. I should’ve hesitated and bought another brand. I am I like to mention I’m very tech savvy. I’ve had other camera assistance before these are junk , they say they have all these bells and whistles. Most them don’t work just like the parameter you can preset most the time doesn’t work is a joke. Should’ve returned them in the 15 day window. I had what a joke that is.
