I am writing this review for the eufy FamiLock S3 Max Deadbolt. The S3 Max Deadbolt comes with a built-in 2K video doorbell and palm scanner. This is one of the easiest reviews I have ever written. Why? Because this is absolutely one of the best, if not THE best product of its kind on the market, hands down. When I got home and picked up the package, I thought for sure I had received the wrong product. I mean, it was much heavier than I had imagined. So, I put everything else aside and opened up the box. To my surprise, it actually was the eufy S3. I was impressed by how well packaged the S3 came. The quality of the materials, the intuitive packaging…top notch all the way. As I familiarized myself with the contents, I noticed that the only instructions came in the form of a little folded Quick Start Guide. I looked it over and noticed there was a QR code to scan to access an online tutorial, and a rather short one at that. It all seemed so easy and simple. So I watched it a second time and felt confident enough to give it a shot. I was not prepared for the unbelievably easy and simple installation of the eufy S3! In a matter of about 10 minutes I had it completely installed. Not only installed, but ready to go, save for a few minutes connecting to wi-fi and setting up my eufy account. I don’t know that I have ever had such a non-stressful setup before. It was amazing! 10 minutes. As I was installing each component, I kept noticing just how well-built the S3 is. The materials, the design, the build…from top to bottom the S3 is pure quality. This is not some mass-produced-as-cheaply-as-possible piece of junk, this is a top-tier level product. And I became aware of why the box was so heavy when I picked it up. You won’t find even a trace of cheap plastic on the S3. I mean, everything about it is incredible. Back to the setup, I don’t know if I am just one of the fortunate, but my deadbolt hole was perfectly suited for the eufy right out of the box. The setup required no technical skills, no “bunch of tools,” and everything is designed to assemble without stress of any kind. Their research and development team really deserve a ton of kudos for making the installation fail-proof. Everything just went together so easily. The only tool I needed was a Phillips-head screwdriver. After installing, there is the usual connect-to-wi-fi, setting up an account, etc. And once that is all done, the eufy is ready to use. I wasn’t sure about the palm-scanner feature. To me it seemed a bit too good to be true, if you know what I mean. And way too futuristic. I honestly didn’t think it was going to perform well. I was wrong. To open the deadbolt, all you have to do is hold your palm a few inches away and almost immediately it unlocks. So to prove it’s trustworthiness, I had everyone try to open it with their palm. Worked perfectly. There is a very minor “learning curve” involved, as I needed to learn how to hold my palm so that the scanner could read it. The video doorbell feature is just as wonderful. Anytime someone rings the doorbell, I am immediately notified via the app notifications. Even if they just walk up on the porch. And this is where eufy deserves the most praise… they don’t require a subscription for the doorbell to send alerts and store photos! It’s free. The photos are high definition, and there is no trying to guess what you are seeing. The photos really are clear. Everything about the eufy FamiLock S3 Max Deadbolt/Video Doorbell is amazing. From the super high-resolution photos to the no-subscription-required to the top-notch palm scanner, this is top level! If you are really wanting to invest in an electronic deadbolt system with a video doorbell, please do yourself a favor and get the eufy FamiLock S3 Max Deadbolt!

Dishonest pricing match policy. I had them price match this item with the same item on Amazon , backed up by the same item on the manufacturers website offering the same item for 100 less. They couldn’t match it… dishonest and deceptive price matching

eufy - FamiLock S3 Max Wi-Fi Replacement Deadbolt with 2K Video Doorbell and Palm Scanner Easy setup, however, no directions, and require use of the internet or prior install knowledge. We have (3) S230 Smart Locks with fingerprint reader, so the installation was quick, and setup was easy. We installed the S3 Max where a previous eufy deadbolt was installed, so we were able to use our existing deadbolt. There was no need to change it so the installation of the new eufy Familock S3 Max took approximately 5 minutes. We also have a eufy HomeBase S380 (HomeBase 3), the Familock S3 Max automatically added itself to the HomeBase S380. The HomeBase is not required to utilize the Familock S3 Max. You can connect the Familock S3 Max to your Wi-Fi and use the eufy app to control/operate your Familock S3 Max. To charge the main battery you will need a 5V / 2A power adapter and USB-C charging cable which is not supplied with the lock. Luckily, we already have one. If you have a storm door, the storm door will block much of the video availability. Installing the Familock S3 Max on the average door will show part of your door frame in the video, however, there does not appear to be a means to alleviate this. The Familock S3 Max is heavy duty and very well built. My only concern is the battery cover. The battery cover on our (2) S230 Smart Locks simply slip upward and off, so you have no resistance, and the battery cover works as well as the day we installed them. I’m concerned that the Familock S3 battery cover must be pried off, and with time this will wear on the battery cover. The (4) AAA batteries you install as a backup are a great feature. While charging the main battery, the backup batteries will keep the lock up and running, however, you can only use your PIN code access or key to lock/unlock, other functions are unavailable. Lots of neat features on Familock S3: From the interior of the door, you can press a button or turn the thumb turn to lock and unlock the Deadbolt. You can also press a button that turns on the 2K video, on the Familock S3, and view whom or what is on the outside of your door. This is a great feature and alternative to opening the door or attempting to see who’s at the door utilizing a peep hole. The camera will activate if someone presses the doorbell button on the lock. This gives you immediate video of who is at the door. From the exterior of the door, you can touch the to lock the deadbolt when you’re leaving or you can utilize your code or use the key. To unlock the Deadbolt you simply use, the Palm Vein reader located on the top of the lock, use the App, Voice Control, tap in your Password, or use the Keys. You cannot use the palm vein reader to lock the Familock S3 Deadbolt. Using the veins in your hand(s) to unlock your door is extremely quick and simple, yet secure. According to an article I read regarding palm veins, they are unique to each person, just like fingerprints, however, they remain stable over a person's lifetime. This makes palm vein patterns a reliable and secure biometric identifier. Apparently, even identical twins have different palm vein patterns. Palm vein recognition technology utilizes this uniqueness to verify identities, and it's considered a more secure method than other biometric identifiers like fingerprints, due to its resistance to forgery attempts. You can set locking priorities by utilizing the app. You can have the lock automatically lock, 5 seconds to 3 minutes after the door has been closed. You can also schedule a time for the lock to engage and disengage. Example: engage at a certain time in the evening and disengage at a certain time in the morning. Advantages and disadvantages, depending on your needs and door traffic. It would be more of an advantage to us if you could separate the engaging and disengaging time. We could set to automatically lock at a certain time in the evening, but we don’t necessarily want it to unlock in the morning. The 2K video is more than adequate for identifying who’s at your door, and again, you can press a button on the interior of the lock and view a video of who is on the outside, without having to use the eufy app. When attempting to set the “Screen Area Setting”, on the app, there seems to be a glitch, no matter where I move the box to adjust the display area of the screen, approximately ¼ of our video is consumed by door frame. I saved it, but it doesn’t change. I also don’t see any differences when changing the Screen Settings Display Mode between “Wide-Angle Mode” and “Full-Screen Mode”. You can integrate the eufy Familock S3 Max into your Alexa system/devices. We can ask our Alexa Show 10 to show us the door lock, and the door lock video is displayed on the Show 10. The ability to allow others to enter your home using the palm vein reader or a pass code beats having keys made and given out. We have found the palm reader to be a little stubborn at times. By utilizing the eufy app you can remove someone’s access at any time. The additional advantage is not having to keep up with keys that you have given to family, friends, or workers. You can remove someone’s access without worrying about getting a key back or having to worry about someone losing a key. For us, the eufy Familock S3 Max is a great addition to our home security.

The latest model of the Eufy - FamiLock S3 Max WiFi Deadbolt with 2K Video Doorbell and Palm Scanner is one notch or two above all other models. From the moment you open the box, you can tell how much attention to detail and quality Eufy put into designing and refining earlier versions of this smart lock. Everything is intuitively labeled in the order of the installation steps to guarantee a successful installation by customers of any skill level, using only a Phillips screwdriver. The Eufy is different from other brands in that it actually replaces the whole dead-bolt assembly, so if you still want to use a key, you’ll have to use the unique ones that come with it, which is fine since it comes with a few keys that are probably nearly impossible to duplicate. Installation was very straight forward, you can even watch videos on-line or just follow the easy step by step instructions - it only took me about 20min. I did have the Eufy App already set up since I own an Eufy doorbell, but now it’s all integrated, so in with the new, out with the old. The big Li-Ion battery is supposed to last up to six months on a full charge under normal operating conditions - impressive - though time will tell. Eufy also included a pack of 4x AAA rechargeable batteries as a backup power supply, so the unit is still functional while you’re charging the main Li-ion battery that takes at least 6 hours to fully charge. PROs: Multiple ways to lock/unlock: Palm Vein Recognition, PIN, iPhone or Android phone App that works via both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, physical key, Alexa or Google Assistant I would like to emphasize the Palm recognition functionality as it impressed me the most - it is super-responsive, I’d say under one second. You can register multiple palms so I did both left and right hands, for those days when you have all those grocery bags in one hand. You can have your other family members register their palms as well, since you can have up to 50 different ones. You can register up to one hundred 4-8 digit PINs for you and other people you want to allow access, and the various PINs can be activated/deactivated on a schedule. Automatic door-locking option thru the App once you closed the door behind you, or just a simple touch of the shield button on the keypad. Nearly instant notifications and audit logs in the App when the door is locked/unlocked and by whom Bright and Crisp built-in LCD screen that shows you who is at the door or the package you may have received on your doorsteps; 2K/15fps video quality in the App is also great quality Solid drill-proof metal casing, with rubber grommet so you don’t damage your door finish Waterproof IP65 rating that will withstand the elements Lighted touchpad that wakes-up at the touch so you can enter the PIN Frequent Firmware updates for security fixes and enhancements All biometrics information stored locally on the device No Monthly required for any functionality, unless you want to store your videos in their Cloud No Major Cons: No MicroSD memory slot built-in for local storage of videos, but in integrates with the Eufy HomeBase system that provides local video storage for door bells and other Eufy devices, All in all, I am very impressed with this upgraded “lock and doorbell combo in one” and would recommend it to anyone who is in the market for either a doorbell or a smart lock or both.

The Eufy FamiLock S3 is a fantastic all in one device that offers a smart doorlock, doorbell and 2K video camera. Installation is super simple. If you’ve already installed smart door locks before, nothing is different here, it literally takes about 5 minutes to install. If you’ve never installed smart door locks before, no worries. Eufy gives complete and detailed instructions and even offers videos that guide you step by step. With no prior experience, you can DIY this in about 15 minutes. I love the dual power supply offered here. You get both a rechargeable battery and AA battery backup. So even if the main battery goes dead, you’re not locked out and have access to the smart lock and doorbell, however the video functions will be limited until full power is regained. But this is a nice touch of power redundancy. A first for any smart lock I’ve used. The construction is nice and solid, the fit and finish is great and the matte black color will work with just about any décor. The palm vein reader is a first for me and I was super excited to try it out. I will say two things about it: - Yes it does work incredibly well and very fast when the angle of your palm is correct. It locks or unlocks almost instantly - When your palm is not at the correct angle, it can be frustrating For me, I never seem to have any issues with the palm vein scanning. I must have a knack for placing my palm at the correct distance and angle for the lock to scan and unlock instantly. My kids and wife however, don’t have the same luck as me. They only get in with palm access about 50% of the time, usually having to default to their pin code or Apple Home to unlock it. I’ve done it with them as well, and for whatever reason, they just don’t have the same success. They feel that going back to a finger print reader is better, as that worked almost 100% for them. So while I love this lock and it works all the time for me, I wanted to mention that experience for others in my family as an FYI. The video doorbell feature is also very nice and makes this a great all in one unit for those who don’t have video doorbells, outside front cameras or smart locks. This FamiLock is the solution for all of that. The video is crystal clear compare to other similar products in this space, thanks to the 2K sensor on board. The notifications arrive instantly and you can set all the custom bells and whistles in terms of people or package alerts, loitering alerts which is a first for me and pretty cool. You can set the sensor range and define the area in which you want to be notified of motion or activity and the FamiLock even has a built in screen on the back of the lock where with a push of button on the lock itself, you can see real time what the camera sees. Great for when you don’t have your phone and need to see outside without opening the door. Eufy gives so much custom setting controls for everything regarding the lock and autolock, the video settings the notifications, etc. and what’s also great is that the video is stored locally, not in the cloud. This is a great all in one solution for front door security with leading edge technology and customization that makes Eufy products some of my favorite.

I have removed the existing deadbolt from the main door and installed Eufy S3 Max using the hardware kit came along with the package. All installation done in less than 30 mins. It fits perfectly on the door. Build quality is solid and it looks very stylish on the door. I have downloaded the eufy app for notifications and view the recordings. I have configured my palm and checked few times and it worked flawlessly. With accurate, forgery-proof palm vein technology, FamiLock S3 Max recognizes the unique vein pattern on my hand's palm in just 0.1 seconds with up to 99.99% accuracy. I think these automated door locks are a must-have these days. They're just so convenient while still being secure. No more fumbling around with keys when loaded with grocery bags or fumbling around in the dark trying to unlock the door. With previous models, you had an app or keyfob to automatically unlock the door. Or, if your door lock was capable of it, you had geo-fencing that would unlock just from getting near your door. This lock takes it a step further with palm reading which is somewhat new but just as convenient. I've had a couple of these door locks and all worked well. Although I did have a major issue with my previous one that cost me a locksmith to open my door. That being said, still enjoy having these locks for both security and convenience. This one is unique in that it unlocks by scanning your palm. There is a keypad for manual unlocking but this utilizes your palm to unlock the lock. I've seen/heard this technology being used in China for payments so it works but still might be a bit too "new" for some folks. I had my concerns about this just because I hadn't heard that much of it being used state side, let along with unlocking doors. So far, it's been pretty accurate. I would imagine it would have to be so if it's used for things like payments/commerce. Still though, I was a tad leery about it since I wasn't 100% sure on its stability and functionality. As mentioned before, it works pretty well and I haven't had any lock out issues with it. Battery life was another thing of concern as well for me. With most door locks you power them by AA/AAA batteries which has to potential to die on you when least expected. This one solves that issue both with battery use as well as a rechargeable battery within the unit. The camera on this is cool as well. I have a separate door bell cam already so this one may be replacing that as well since it'll be somewhat redundant to have two cameras on my front door. Overall, I like it and it works well. I know some may have some reservations with this new technology but it works well for me so no complaints.

Great Lock Palm Reader needs work

The eufy - FamiLock S3 Max WiFi Replacement Deadbolt and Palm Scanner is overall a great device. It does have some quirks though. First thing first, the good. I got off work and told the family I was going to install the new lock, even though they wanted to go out to dinner. Before they even finished getting ready to leave the house, I already had the new lock installed. It took less than ten minutes to install the new lock. Charging the battery was fairly simple and very self-explanatory. Once the battery was charged, and you downloaded the app for your phone, everything from there was a cakewalk. Truly my only complaint is the palm print. It's not very accurate as a matter of fact, it's just faster to type in my code than it is to wait for the thing to recognize my palm. Every time I have tried this my lock is never in direct sunlight as it only gets direct sunlight for about two hours every day. The palm print scanner does work, but by the time it does work, I could have already punched in my code and been inside. However aside from that there are so many great features that make this lock amazing. From the video camera at 2K to the fact that I can use the voice features for quick responses to those at my door. Overall this lock is amazing, just the palm print scanner needs work.

The eufy FamilyLock S3 Max is an amazing entry into the smart door lock market. It has every feature you could ask for in a smart lock, and the palm scanner is such a huge upgrade over fingerprint readers. I have programmed multiple palms into the system, and it reads each of them flawlessly. The install was very easy, it took around 30 minutes to set everything up. Once I configured the app, everything synced up in a few minutes and then ran a firmware update, after that we were up and running. I setup multiple PIN numbers, added multiple family members, and they have had no issues using the lock. The app is very feature rich! I can remotely view what is happening on my porch at any time, get real time alerts when people are on my porch, keep an eye on my packages, and answer from anywhere when people ring the doorbell. The system has a nice battery life, easy to charge battery that has a USB-C port that uses any charger you already have, and even has backup AAA batteries so that you can still use the system while your main battery is charging. Overall this is my favorite smart door lock and I absolutely love it!

    Solid All-in-One Front Door System

There’s a lot to unpack with the Eufy Familock S3 Max - both literally and figuratively. To start, this is a combination app connected smart lock and doorbell camera with several accessibility modes, pinpad, app of course, palm vein (one of the killer features) and smart app via voice or other home automation. And while this is a smart lock that bolts to the door so theoretically shouldn’t have too many components, unboxing, you definitely start with a lot. The inner and outer door assemblies, the bolt portion of the deadbolt, a rechargeable battery. Some regular AAA batteries, strike plate, and various mounting hardware. Handling the parts, they are sufficiently strong and seemed designed to hold up to abuse. I can immediately see the benefits of this style of door lock versus my current one - the motor can definitely apply a lot of torque - I don’t expect to ever have any issues with it being able to lock or unlock even if the door is just a bit misaligned. Installation was straightforward. While a bit more involved that some other locks, there wasn’t anything particularly complicated about it. Saving on packing material, you scan a QR code to get an install guide. You’d also download the app as part of your install process and that’s quick to get set up and pair the lock to your network. While some of the smart functionality won’t work without the app, you’d just lose remote view of the camera and smart assistant access to the lock. However, the lock supposedly supports the Matter protocol which means this may be usable even if Eufy goes kaput. So, this mitigates one of my big concerns with smart devices - how dependent I am on the long term viability of the company selling it. The main installation downside is the size of the lock components. My previous lock allowed me to maintain the original ornate hardware and make the door smart without changing the aesthetic. While I’m able to find matching hardware for the non-deadbolt components, for this test, I pretty much needed to remove everything and switch to a random door latch I had at the house. Starting with basic locking, on the interior side you have a physical dial to turn or button your can press to lock. Nice on both ends. Adults pretty much use the dial but the button is nice for the younger kiddos who either can’t apply enough torque due to strength and height issues. Already, this is showing off the “Familock” features. Locking or unlocking is accompanied by distinct tones though they are similar enough that in a rush, you might not be able to tell them apart. I’m not quite as worried about this - the position of the dial is what I usually check and I’m fine if the kids sometimes don’t realize they left the door unlocked - especially since I now have standing task to automatically lock the front door at 9pm each night. Given that the kiddos can always easily get inside, this automatic behavior is no longer a concern - a big reason I didn’t turn on the auto attempt to lock after timeout on my previous smart lock. The third big thing you’d notice on the inside - a screen. This acts as a peephole to the camera giving those on the inside a view out. Now, it’s not really necessary for me given that I have large windows to the side of the door, but I can imagine it’s nice for those without. On my door, the view is pretty good and coverage area similar to my standalone doorbell camera. The position on the Eufy is a bit lower and it doesn’t capture as much of the approach to my door but does an okay job for daytime. I can image that if one has a recessed door or frame that protrudes out from the door, then you may end up having an annoying cutoff in the field of view. While the camera does have IR and picks things up at night, it’s definitely not as good as the standalone doorbell camera. Yes, this is supposed to be 2K and I’m sure there’s technically that many pixels, but the daytime quality is just mid-range doorbell camera level and night drops a bit lower. Still, because you can view this through the app, I think it’s perfectly fine going with this as an all-in-one solution. The outside unit has a button specifically for ringing the doorbell which cleverly conceals the key backup. Where with my previous smart lock, I still regularly used the key, here, I’ve not really felt the need. Moving on to things I liked - the motor to unlock the door is consistent and solid. I never had it jam or fail to completely engage or disengage. There’s a motion sensor so the keypad lights up on approach. Nice as some nights, the porch light isn’t on and I’m not randomly tapping something on the keypad to get it to light up and so losing one attempt to unlock the door. In fact, the keypad is pretty much just for giving others temporary access to the house. Everyone uses the palm/vein detection. Adults and kids - works well though the shortest kid sometimes has trouble angling things the way the sensor prefers. But this reliability for all household members is what makes this really useful as I can enable more automation with no worry of accidentally having a kid locked outside. I’m currently experimenting with how annoying it is to always need to unlock the front door with the auto lock feature enabled. Pretty much seeing if people get into the habit of not closing the door at all for short jaunts outside or if the ease to unlock makes it a non-issue. Smart assistant integration works. Nothing special on that front. Looking over the box, I realized there was yet another feature that I missed mentioning - there’s a backup USB-C port for power behind the doorbell button. So, if you’ve misplaced the key and the battery has completely died, you could still apply power from outside and unlock the door. I’m almost tempted to hide a charged power bank outside versus hiding a spare key lol - with the power bank, one would still need to make use of a saved palm or PIN to enter the home versus finding the literal keys to the castle. In summary, the Familock S3 Max does a decent job at a lot. And if building a brand new house, would be a great all-in-one solution. But for those looking to add this to an existing house, which was my use scenario and I suspect that of many others, there’s enough tradeoffs that this ranks a solid four stars.

The Eufy FamiLock S3 Max aims to combine a smart lock, video doorbell, and security camera into a single device—all without the hassle of monthly subscription fees. On paper, it sounds like a complete front-door security upgrade, and in many ways, it delivers. However, it’s not a perfect solution, and its performance improves significantly when paired with the HomeBase 3. Palm Vein Recognition: Futuristic & Mostly Reliable The standout feature here is Palm Vein Recognition, an innovative biometric method that feels way more advanced than traditional fingerprints. In daily use, it’s quick and reliable—I rarely find myself needing to scan twice. However, smaller hands (like my 9-year-old’s) require precise positioning—holding their hand about three inches away works best. When the scan fails, the keypad provides a solid backup, and for peace of mind, there’s a physical key hidden behind the bell cap. Built-in 2K Video Doorbell: A New View of My Front Door The 2K camera with a 180-degree field of view offers a clear visual of who’s at my door without requiring a separate device. While my front door has windows, the doorbell lets me consider frosting them for privacy while still keeping an eye on visitors. As expected from a modern smart lock, I can view the camera feed remotely, receive motion alerts, and control the lock from my phone. No Subscription Fees—A Huge Advantage One of the biggest selling points is local storage, eliminating the need for costly subscriptions like Ring Video Doorbell requires. However, the battery-powered limitations mean video recordings are often incomplete—I frequently see people or animals walking away rather than approaching. Adding solar-powered S340 cameras helps fill in these gaps by providing continuous motion capture. Performance Boost with HomeBase 3 & Additional Cameras Pairing the FamiLock with HomeBase 3 and extra cameras makes a noticeable difference: Enhanced AI facial recognition Faster response times Expanded local storage (up to 16TB) Better camera-to-camera communication for quicker wake-ups That said, the extra cost is worth considering. I added two S340 cameras and HomeBase 3, and the overall experience became much smoother. Build Quality & Installation The FamiLock feels durable and well-made, and installation was straightforward. One important tip—fully charge the battery before installation so everything is ready to go once set up. Where It Falls Short Size & Bulk: The lock is massive, and its large interior screen and chunky exterior might feel out of place in minimalist homes. Low-Light Video Performance: While color night vision struggles in dim lighting, IR night vision works fine. Smart Home Compatibility: Supports Matter, Alexa, Google Home, and Apple HomeKit, but integration isn’t as seamless as some competitors. Price Tag: At $399.99, it’s not cheap, and adding HomeBase 3 and extra cameras only increases the investment. However, avoiding subscription fees may offset the upfront cost over time. Final Verdict The Eufy FamiLock S3 Max is an ambitious attempt at an all-in-one security solution, and for some, it might be the perfect fit. If you value cutting-edge biometrics and hate subscription fees, it’s a strong contender. However, pairing it with HomeBase 3 is highly recommended to get smoother operation, better recognition, and more efficient storage. There’s also a screenless version that’s cheaper and less power-hungry. If continuous video recording is a priority, this may not be the ideal fit, but for me, it completely replaced my Ring Video Doorbell—without the ongoing subscription cost.

Firstly the lock showed up in one piece from our local delivery guys. Unboxing is very easy and everything you need is inside, two keys, batteries , the lock etc. We have other EUPHY products so we already had an account to monitor this and add to our home security. Installation was a bit weird and I had some issues with the deadbolt staying in place and it kept wanting to pop out. I was sick when I installed this so my patience wasn’t great and I got a little frustrated. But once I got it in it was super easy to set up and make a code, scan a plan etc. The best part about this lock isn’t the camera or th screen it’s the palm reader it works incredibly well and my wife agreed that she thought palm scanner sounded stupid but it’s actually practical. The worst part about this lock is the 2k resolution I wish it was 4k and then the screen which mounts on the inside I mean I guess it’s cool but I thought it to be corky and limited view from the camera. Just look through the peep hole like a normal creeper :). Overall I am very pleased with the ease of use and technology in the lock and no idea how I will ever live without a palm scanner again! Recommend

This is a pretty good door lock. Firstly, it has many features that the average smart door lock does not have. The first of these features is fingerprint unlock. Most locks that I've used in the past only have the option to use a code to unlock them, not a finger. The second of these features is the camera. Similar to fingerprint unlock, most locks that I've used in the past do not have this feature. Secondly, there are no monthly fees. Most products like this (such as doorbells) have outrageous monthly fees. While this lock is priced quite high, I think it is better to have a higher upfront cost and no monthly fee rather than a low upfront cost and a high monthly fee. Thirdly, it integrates with many other ecosystems such as Amazon Alexa, HomePod, Google Assistant, and SmartThings. I personally use SmartThings because I have a Samsung phone. This makes it much easier to use lock as pretty much all smartphones have one of these apps pre-downloaded nowadays. Overall, I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a decent smart door lock.
