Customers value the Robot Vacuum Omni E28 for its excellent cleaning performance, impressive navigation and mapping capabilities, and strong suction power. The portability and long battery life are also appreciated by users. However, some customers have noted that the auto-empty function can be quite loud, and the docking station is large.

This review is going to come across as overwhelmingly negative, but that's mostly because it just doesn't work for me and my family and our house in its current state. With young kids and 2 working parents, we just don't have the time to pick up after everyone as much as we'd like and we want them to be self-sufficient so we don't hover over them and spoon-feed them. Messes get made and not always cleaned up right away. If that kind of chaos energy is what's going on in your house, then the Eufy E28 is NOT for you. This thing really emphasizes the spot cleaner wet vacuum, but unless you spill red wine a lot, would you really pay this much for a fancy wet vacuum spot cleaner (that is also loud and heavy with a terrible rigid cord) and a very mediocre robot vacuum mop? Probably not. So here's my rundown, please note, we did NOT sweep up or clean up for the week before I got this because I wanted to give it a worst-case doomsday scenario to handle and it did maybe a 50-60% score of cleaning up. Here's the low lights: 1. The robot vacuum unit is too tall and is actually SCARED to clean and get its hands and feet dirty. It does NOT fit under standard height cupboards. It gets close, but that little tower on top must have some laser level because if it thinks it won't clear the height (even though it can when I manually moved it under), it'll just stop way short. It is also SCARED to make contact. Covid is over little buddy, its OK to get close and touch again! Nope, it'll stop way short of making any contact and as a result, does a really poor job of cleaning in tight spots and under cabinets. Maybe it needs that elastic man arm extension if it is too tall or too scared to get under cabinets. 2. The suction on the robovac unit is weak. When it first moved around to charge it was kind of loud. Not even sure why, because when it is actually cleaning, it seems too quiet. Almost like its just shoveling things into it rather than actually suctioning. Even turning it up to the max clean level, very weak. The twirling brushes seem to just haphazardly kick stuff around to the center which then kinda shovels stuff along. You'll hear big debris bouncing around as the thing rolls through the kitchen, and if it needs to do a hard 90 degree turn, it'll leave a big pile of trash behind. It won't bother to go back and clean that spot up either. 3. It mostly just pushes trash back to the base station, where you basically get to empty a dustbin that's built into the charging station. Yes, there's actually a big cutout ramp that is like a dustbin for trash pieces. Wild. Oh, and it also has trouble backing up that ramp to charge. Its like watching a bad driver try to park backing in with a few inches of snow. 4. Auto-empty? What is auto about having to lift up a cover, remove the dust bin, unclip it, remove a filter and then empty the tiny bin into the trash? Why are we going backwards here with robot vacuum technology? I have two other units that actually are auto-empty that justify that super loud noise on the base station to AUTO-EMPTY trash into a bigger trash bag that only needs to be replaced every 6-12 months. 5. Mop feature is barely noticeable, it doesn't leave any sign of wetness, which is probably fine, just makes the floor slightly slick feeling and a droplet here or there. The robot vac will return to the base station a LOT more to clean the mop heads when you use the mop feature and also seems to vacuum more erratically due to the constant start/stop cycles. To its credit, the base station when it suctions extremely loudly, does do a nice job of just getting the dirty water with no extra trash or debris in the dirty water tank, but I am not looking forward to cleaning that back filter. As mentioned, the spot cleaner works fine, it is just really loud and we already have a $150 big green unit for this kind of thing (pet and kid stains/messes) that is not only cheaper, but also we don't care if we mess it up. This E28 on the other hand, its just not as robust feeling and is heavy with a bulky cable with a head that needs to be wound up each time. We just aren't going to pick this as a first option due to convenience but also we don't want to have it clean up all the really nasty stuff bc it seems harder to clean and we had planned for it to live in our kitchen. Anything with water gets smelly, anything with really nasty water gets even smellier. If you live in a clear floorplan, maybe 1 kid or 1 pet and you clean up after them shortly after anything hits the floor and you also have a housecleaner, then this would probably work for you to get the stray piece of dust or pet hair off the ground. But for people who are actually expecting it to clean as well or even exceed what they already are used to from robot vacs, then this is likely going to be a miss. Personally, we'll go back to the robot vacuum that is 3 years older and does a much better job on trash that is actually AUTO-EMPTY into a trash bag in the charging base, followed by the manual push vacmop we have after that does a great job of actually being a vacmop. Unfortunately this E28 doesn't do either well so it just doesn't work for us. The software and app worked great, I just think the folks at Eufy overthought the design and purpose of his one and should've just stuck to a tried and true formula. With some re-calibrating they can likely get rid of the skittish non-touch behavior with a firmware or software update. The height/size and lack of actual auto-empty with 70% of the unit dedicated to a spot clean wetvac however are just bigtime flaws and head scratchers in my opinion.

Eufy E28 Robot Vacuum Review- not recommended

I’ve owned several robot vacuums over the years — from Shark to Roborock — so I had high hopes for the Eufy E28. Unfortunately, it hasn’t lived up to my expectations. On the positive side, it does an okay job at basic cleaning. It picks up a fair amount of dirt and debris, and on hard floors it does fine. But that’s about where the positives end. One major frustration is how easily it gets stuck, especially if you have rugs or uneven flooring. The sweepers are poorly designed — they fall off constantly and get tangled with hair, which is a hassle to clean out. That part feels like a definite design flaw that could have been avoided. Another big downside is how loud the base station is when the vacuum empties itself. Many other users mention this too — it’s genuinely disruptive, especially if you’re running it during the day when people are home. All in all, I was really looking forward to the Eufy E28, but it’s been underwhelming. It’s not terrible — it does its basic job — but between getting stuck, the poor sweeper design, and the noisy base, I can’t recommend it. I definitely wouldn’t purchase this model again.

I have had this for a little over a week now. I’ve only ran it when I’m home watching it (just making sure I know what it does before I set up some schedules). I’ve used it 8 times already. I purposely didn’t clean my floors for 2 week prior knowing I was getting it. I ran it as a vacuum only then ran vacuum and mop. After the first pass the floor was a little sticky, but definitely cleaner. After the 3rd run the floor was spotless and all runs after that didn’t have any issues. I will say the self cleaning is really ridiculously loud and wouldn’t advise running it at night

The best and ONLY FLOOR CLEANER THAT PICKS UP WASTE WATER!!! Amazing machine & lift-off portable cleaner. Everything is the best available on this unit. However 1). IT WILL NOT FIT/MOP UNDER ANY KITCHEN OR BATH CABINET TOE KICK (overhang cabinet to floor). The entire unit was made too tall due to the mop/lift roller. Unbelievable oversight. IT WILL SWING IT’S ARM TO VACUUM THOSE AREAS. 2). It will NOT FIT UNDER ANY FURNITURE. I’ve had Neato, Roomba, Eufy, Roborock that have cleaned under all furniture, again the mop build is probably the cause. THIS UNIT CLEANS EXTREMELY WELL if you don’t need your floors completely washed & vac under furniture. THE SOLUTION: It’s a large house to clean and another unit combined with this Eufy solved all our needs. I also purchased the ROBOROCK SAROS 10R. Between the two I’ll have an immaculate house for at least 4 years …. WARRANTY

I’ve been using the Eufy e28 for a little while now, and I’m genuinely impressed with what it can do. The mapping feature on the app has been one of my favorite parts so far. It accurately mapped out roughly 2800 sq ft of our home—including the kids’ rooms, hallways, and all the furniture—without any issues. Watching it create a detailed layout felt like something out of a sci-fi movie. Navigation is excellent as well. The robot moves around obstacles intelligently and rarely gets stuck. One surprisingly useful feature is the built-in flashlight it uses when navigating in the dark. It’s a small thing, but it makes a big difference for nighttime cleaning runs. The mop function works pretty well too. It doesn’t replace a deep mop, but it absolutely helps keep the floors much cleaner on a daily basis, especially with kids running around. I can already tell it’s going to save us a ton of maintenance cleaning. I also love the ability to customize suction levels, water flow, and cleaning modes directly from the app. Being able to adjust those settings depending on the room or mess makes it feel like a premium device. Overall, the Eufy e28 has exceeded my expectations. Strong mapping, smart navigation, helpful nighttime visibility, solid mopping, and customizable cleaning options make this a great addition to any busy home. Highly recommend!

The product performs effectively on hardwood floors; however, in certain areas, dirt accumulation can lead to black marks resembling gum residue. While the suction mapping is adequate, there is room for improvement.

I’ve had a bunch of robot vacuums (mostly sharks) this thing is crazy convenient- the mopping is quick and efficient, because it’s a roller style it can pick up wet messes, and the software is leagues better than most other robot vacuums. Totally will get another Eufy when I need to replace my upstairs vacuum only model.

So far it does everything way better than my Roomba did except 1 thing which is get over high transitions from room to room, basically thinks my bathroom is a solid wall now because it can't reverse itself up, maybe put an option in to make the hurdle. Outside that my floors have never looked cleaner and it does a pretty solid job switching from carpet to solid flooring.

This latest iteration of their robot vacuums has finally hit the jackpot! I haven't had to detangle the brush manually in my 2 months of running it daily so far. My previous vacuums will always have some amount of dog hair tangled after a few runs. We have two Great Pyrenees that shed A LOT! The mopping brush also does a great job cleaning the floor although not a substitute for actual mopping. It does help maintain cleanliness after mopping. The water tank lasts quite a few runs. Haven't had a chance to use the portable cleaner yet, but I'm sure it works well.

Works well. The only main complaint is that when you remove the portable part, either to use it or to change the bag, when you put back , it annoying keeps saying that it's not on correctly so you have to keep trying and trying until it stops. That is annoying but otherwise, seems to do the job.

It works great. send it and forget. Avoids obstacles very good. One time got stuck on towel on the bathroom floor when it wrapped around the mop. It stopped and sent me a phone notification so i could come and help it. App works great too. It is loud for 20 sec when robot returns to base to empty dust. Battery lasts a longtime. vacuums and mops 3000 square feet house on single charge. Used it for 2 months already and have no bad things to say about it.

Love that this robot does both mopping and sweeping. It provides an opportunity to spend time doing other things as well as I like the option to pick up and clean fabrics or spills when necessary. I hope that it lasts quite a bit, but we will see as we’ve only ran it twice at a week for 2 weeks.

This is by far the best robovac/mop I’ve purchased, and I’ve had many roombas and shark vacs. It is super smart and the mapping is far superior to iRobots. And you can log in to the app with more than one user, while only ONE person could log into Roomba app. 10/10 This one actually sucks but doesn’t at the same time ;-)

I have been using a robot vacuum for day-to-day cleaning my carpets for almost a decade now. What started as a niche market, more like a toy rather than a serious cleaning machine, has now grown to be something that’s standard nowadays. And with that now we have many competitors, many features, and capability that has grown useful hundredfold. So when I was able to get my hands on the Eufy Omni E28 - a new take on the all-in-one cleaning machine, I was excited to see how things have changed since I last upgraded by robot vacuum 5 years ago. And boy it didn’t disappoint. After using it quite vigorously for the last 2 weeks or so, here’s what I found works and some of the things could be better. First of all, the Omni E28 is a big “installation”. By that I mean the robot itself is not that big, but the docking station is large. And I was okay with the fact that this is not a charging dock, rather the “service station” for the mobile unit. It is the dust and dirty water collection station for the robot, as well as the source of clean water and detergent for mopping sessions. And furthermore, which is the unique feature Eufy wants to showcase, is the detachable spot cleaner. The top of the station, which houses the water reservoirs (for both clear and dirty water), can be taken out and used as a stand-alone spot cleaner for heavy messes on the carpet etc. It has its own hose and nozzle (which tucks away quite nicely when not in use, under a cover). Eufy includes a spray bottle of the cleaner with the package which is a great touch. Unfortunately the unit needs to be plugged into an outlet. The cable is decent size, but every time I had to take it out to use, I always wondered how great it would’ve been if it were battery powered. Coming back to the main robot - it uses a camera, LiDAR and whatnot to sense the outside world. The first thing after setting it up is mapping the house, and once it has completed this I was amazed how accurate it was. It was able to detect all the rooms, and the carpeted and non-carpeted areas with almost uncanny precision, with the most creepy thing being able to detect my kitchen, office space, and the living room. Yes, it felt uncomfortable, but at the same time there’s a sense of magic. The robot has a flexible bumper on the front, and two extendible brushes that whips out the dust from the corner in front of the main roller for vacuuming. The mop on the rear goes up and down automatically at it detects different surfaces. The setting up and using the robot can be done easily with the smartphone app(s). When I set it up, I downloaded the Eufy Clean app from the Play Store using the included QR code. However I later found that my existing Eufy app can be used as well. I think this needs to be straightened out as who needs two different apps for no reason. The app is well designed and I got the hang of it quickly. The web-based full user manual is decent, but could benefit from some polish in terms of search and navigation. Now the cleaning performance. The vacuum strength is admirable compared to the size of the unit. It does a very good job, and is definitely an upgrade from my older, aging unit. No, it can’t replace a standalone larger vacuum still - it misses a small nook or cranny from time to time, sometimes can’t extract everything from the carpet, but it’s definitely a big help. I treat this as more like a supplementary cleaner and not as a replacement, and this keeps my hopes limited and the outcome agreeable. Same goes for the mopping - instead of deep cleaning every week, I can now space out manual cleaning to every other week, and use the Omni to help me in between. It uses less water than I do, and makes smaller messes with less drying time. The one thing that stuck out like a sore thumb for me is the noise. The noise the robot makes is understandable and I got accustomed to it. It can be made less with using the app and choosing less suction power. However, during the auto empty session, the station makes a really loud noise - enough to wake you up in the middle of the night from one story up (fortunately there’s an option to stop doing so at nighttime). And it does so a number of times. Then, after mopping, it does a mop drying session, which is also not quite. It’s not as loud, but it goes humming for a few hours. This alone can make many people really annoyed, especially in a small home. Overall, I’m pretty impressed with the performance of the Omni E28. I expected a lot, and it didn’t disappoint. It is definitely a big help for everyday cleaning. However, I wish the base station could be made a little less loud.
