Review of euufy Floodlight Cam 2 Pro
At glance the floodlight feels and looks well made as unpack and full of little details put together that makes one of unique security monitoring gadget.
To begin with hardware side, it total weight is 4.9lbs,, the L-shaped bracket and center screw can support up to 22lbs, and it meet IPS65 rated dustproof and waterproof (extract from device guide).
The floodlight consists of three panels, the camera has tilt and pan capability with definition of 2k HD, field view 360 to mention key aspects.
Installation is straight forward by following the instruction assuming there is junction box where will be installed. Otherwise might need electrician or so for help once decide between wall mount or upside down mount. For the basic of installation the necessary accessories comes with the package which is quite helpful.
Previous to installation or mounting to the wall, following the guide, first is good to setup the device properly for wifi connection and account setting, check for latest firmware update using charging cable that comes in the package and downloading its application.
Afterward mounting is completed, from the application can see immediately the camera working with manufacturer set options out of package.
The large part of benefit of the camera and light rely on the application side for monitoring. The application contains good number of functionalities to setup at user preference for image resolution, AI tracking, light options, audio, and alarm/notifications, storage options.
From the interaction with the device and application in short time of usage, below list of finding on positive side:
1. 360 Pan and Tilt Camera Coverage is close to professional level, from the application can maneuver easily with arrows pointing up/right/left/down.
2. 2k Full HD helps to view at granular level and seems more than needed.
3. Lighting has wide range of options to control color, temperature and brightness for each panel, then separate setting for automated monitoring and manual light on/off. eufy seems to have worked emphasis on these as settings are for each panel and for different mode for monitoring and on demand light on/off.
4. AI subject lock and tracking is fascinating. It detect a subject and does what means. As subject as person once locked the camera would follow directionally as it moves.
5. Bright light of 3000 lumen that can be turned on manually or automatically activated based on motion, transfer the dark in a day.
6. The audio capture even the breath of win and can be heard in the recording or live view. Then holding the icon microphone can talk back and it can be listened without interfering noise in between.
7. It support live view. For use case of installing in the backyard which is my case, and have kids playing while I am working inside and I can monitor them. Very handy feature and give certainly level of freedom and confidence same time.
8. The application UI is quite self intuitive based on usage on iOS. One detail to mention for technical eyes, for the live view the application provide the streaming rate kb/s.
9. Storage, it store in the device memory up to 8GB and doesn’t have to rely on paid storage services exclusively.
10. The look around function is handy to do exactly what its name indicate to view 360 degree of view.
On non positive more toward wish it work better side:
1. Charging cable were longer and include USB Power Adapter.
2. The 2k Full HD at night doesn’t seem to be applicable during night. The recording of night events can’t distinguish very at granular level.
3. A. Motion Tracking’s Preset Positions. Setting preset position select by default the first preset as the Default, and subsequents positions as per order of setting. Doesn’t allow to change the order. After completion of all the preset position and realize need to change the order, need to delete all and start over.
3.B. Motion Tracking’s Preset Positions on live view. Upon start the live view, the preset default position doesn’t seem to work consistently. Some time it stand in non default position upon starting the live view.
4.A. Motion Detection type All Motions. If this type is set, the system seems to become sensible to any object and therefore continuously sending alert/notification/record event. I had tried to use this type to include animals but had to change to type Human Only to have less or more accurate event alert and recording. Hence All Motions include even a closed umbrella that shaken by the win or the distance tree next to the fence. As result not sure how effective can serve,
4.B. Motion Detection Detection distance. I selected Advanced to control Left/Middle/Right Area from mode Off to Farthest for each area. However, testing each area, it doesn’t seem consistent on the detection. In one of cases, standing on far left area the camera didn’t detect me, but I approach toward to the camera did detect me. Whereas the Automatic distance I understand it is determined by the system and camera, seems to work more focused on the object detection within visibility of the camera as I got less event notification/recording.
4.C. Motion Detection Activity Zone, it allow to set only up to 2 zones. It is handy feature as depending on the zone and if object is within or not can have different type of notification and recording, But would be nice to allow to setup more than 2.
5. Often had to perform calibrate as the view upon starting live view stand an angle that is not the center or preset default position.
6. During the night, if you turn on the light on manually while on live view, multiple time had to close it and reopen to see the effect of the light.
7. Storage; it provide option to store in cloud or NAS(RTSP). Although this doesn’t seem straight forward from the application as it refer to the website account and user has some technical skills, would have nice to allow to setup directly from the application.
8. Sometime experienced freeze of application while on live view and performing actions like turning on light, hold&speak. As result had to restart the the mobile phone.
9. The alert and event recording could be more intelligent although it has some level of control. For instance, if as owner I am within angle of camera view, don’t send/record. Or if I am doing doing live view, don’t send notification. At some point the notification/alert become too much to be able to follow up crating risk that through out of time becoming irrelevant like in the story of Aesop Fable for kids The boy who cried wolf for non actual risk or alike.
10. Hold & Speak, this is great feature, can be heard perfectly even at distance. Just when hold & speak there is deferred latency during activation. This couple of second in between could be better.
11. It would be nice to have deeper level of zooming. It depends on the zoom by touch from the mobile device and it is bit limited in my preference.
In overall eufy has put together nicely for this version and I think most remarkable is the camera definition, tilt and pand, and its audio, all supported with wide variety of option for control in deep level of functionality. The application side how it work all together makes bit downside of review but for usage without its importance is still good monitoring tool for recommendation.

Home Security is getting easier and more accessible with companies like Eufy offering a variety of cameras that range from simple to heavy duty. Their new Smart WiFi Floodlight is definitely their most heavy duty yet and it will not disappoint!
IMPORTANT NOTE:
- For anyone thinking of buying this I want to make sure you understand this; this Eufy Floodlight Camera is a wired camera and is meant to ONLY be installed in a junction box. So the idea is that you would pop out your old floodlight and put in this one as a replacement. This is very common with DIY home security floodlight cameras these days, so just an FYI if you are new to the scene!
UNBOXING & INSTALL:
- My first impression was just how big this thing is! I mean I get it, it has a 360 degree camera, lights on it, and its supposed to fit on a junction box. But still this thing is the real deal.
- The unboxing is fairly simple after that, just some directions and extra parts to help go along with set up.
- If you are handy when it comes to electrical, installation should go smoothly for you. Just prepare your junction box, turn off the electricity, connect the wires, fasten the Eufy camera to the junction box, and you are ready!
- After that, set up with the Eufy app is really easy. I thought it was a pretty good process overall.
PROS:
- The first huge pro for me would be there is no subscription for the Eufy cameras in general. You can pay for a monthly subscription to save your recordings in the cloud, but otherwise this Eufy camera saves the recordings to an SD card on its device which you can access via your app! Its just nice not to have a subscription.
- The camera itself looks really nice! it has a nice modern design while also making sure its not super noticeable.
- Probably the biggest selling point of this camera is the 360 tilting camera and it does not disappoint! Seriously its really easy to use with the app and otherwise will use its smart tech to track things as they are in its field of view. For me this feels like the gold standard for outdoor cameras moving forward, especially with a flood cam which is likely going to be placed with the biggest field of view with all your cameras.
- The floodlights also work really well! They are super bright but you can adjust the intensity and they have different angles you can point them at to give you a nice 270 degree floodlight radius or have them all facing forward.
- Lastly, the image it self is really quite good! The 2K image is clear and crisp, and provides good clarity in night time or day time. I've been able to clearly see many things on this camera in my yard and have been happy with the results so far.
CONS:
- The only downside to me is that this camera is limited in only being used with a junction box. It's just such a great camera, it would be nice to be able to use it in places without a junction box.
BOTTOM LINE:
- Eufy continues to impress with their range of DIY home security cameras with no needed subscription. The Eufy smart floodlight camera is a great addition to its team! The 360 degree tilting camera is a game changer, the floodlights are bright, and the image of the stream is crisp. Just make sure you can install this on your own and it will be a welcomed addition!

Highly recommended!! Simply awesome technology, functionality, and user friendly interface. This product was recommend by my contractors when we decided to Im replace existing flood lights. The coolest thing is that the camera follow the motion, it’s beneficial to be able to watch someone move throughout the yard/outdoor space to keep and eye on your property. The motion sensors lights are customizable, as well as the sensitivity and range settings. Since they are LED lights,m you are able to control the brightness and the color (warm vs cool light). Unlike other products this platform doesn’t require a subscription to have recordings as they are stored locally vs cloud based. They do have both options but it’s great that they let you select the best option for you vs having to pay for cloud storage. The app and notifications are fast. We have 5 of these strategically located around our home and also changed out our door lock to their product. Overall we’ve been so satisfied with their product line and cameras.

This is a cool and innovative product that combines an LED floodlight with a 360-degree 2K security camera. Also, it's made by EUFY, so I am confident it will last a long time.
Install and set up were very easy. The only issue I had was ensuring it sat flush on the wall. The last thing I wanted was to have rain get between the light and the wall. To fix this issue, I just had to trim some of the foam off the back of the housing. (As you can see in my picture). Aside from that, everything else was great.
The LED floodlight is bright, and the camera is extremely clear. The best part of the camera is the smart features. The camera position is fully adjustable, it tracks the movement of its subject, and it has enough local storage to last a few days. Also, I was able to use the app to adjust the brightness and color temperature of the floodlight. Which means I can also use it to illuminate my yard without blinding my guests. Additionally, I liked being able to have google turn the floodlight on and off.
Overall, this is a great product and I highly recommend it.

Another standout feature is the two-way audio functionality. The built-in microphone and speaker enable real-time communication with anyone near the camera, whether it's a delivery person, visitor, or potential intruder. This feature adds an extra layer of convenience and security, allowing me to interact with individuals remotely, regardless of my location.
The durability and weather resistance of the eufy Security Floodlight Cam 2 Pro are noteworthy. It is built to withstand various weather conditions, ensuring reliable performance year-round. Solid camera, but lacking some basic functions

This feels like a heavy duty piece of equipment. its got a good weight to it, and after mounting it, it feels really solid.
Setup was really easy through the app, it took minutes. Physical installation was super easy too. It was no different than a dumb motion sensor or a ceiling light.
Customization in the app is pretty straight forward. Make sure to set up your default 1 position. I didn't at first, so the app was always pointed backwards into the house.. once i set it to the view as seen in the screenshots it stayed there.
The light is very illuminating. You can control the warmth and brightness which is nice if you are close to others where a maxed out light can be annoying
security pan and object tracking are nice features to have. i've learned there's a rabbit and a possum that lives in my yard under the shed.
One issue i have is there is no scheduling for when to monitor. You have to remember to manually snooze alerts if you plan on being in the line of sight. for example, when my kids are playing in the yard i don't want my phone blowing up with alerts and nonstop recording them. It'd be good to have a feature to set a time on when to monitor or tie it to geofencing like other brands.
secondly, which seems like a basic feature to implement is just have the light turn on when detecting motion, similar to the basic flood sensor that it replaced.
overall, lot of features, lacking some basic conveniences, and a really solid good quality camera.

This is one of the best security cams I have seen. I literally blow all the others away. I live in the countryside and have the ring camera, and the Eufy cameras and the other brands I have tried. I took my floodlight down put this up and now I can see everything in my front yard and side of my house. I never envisioned this... and it follows its target so they don't walk out of the shot unless they actually go out of the site of the camera. if I have my floodlight on my house, I would replace them all with this. Now as for the service... if you live in the city or someplace where someone can reach the camera easily then I recommend you use the cloud service because everything is stored locally on the device and if they damage or manage to take it, you will lose any video you are hoping to use for the police... if you live in the countryside and your house is almost 20 ft tall like mine then I wouldn't recommend the cloud service and just use the local memory which is about 8GB and yes it holds at least a month work of video from what I can see... and I am still not 50 percent full on the memory. the video is much, better than my Ring camera granted but I don't have the 200+ cameras that just came out so I can't compare it to those. I have the older ones that cost 179$ as of this writing on 1/28/2022
The floodlights themselves are really bright so be careful when you install it... oh, and install is so simple that a kid could do it... it took me 20 minutes to install the things from taking it out the box to making it work... what took the longest was downloading the update for the camera.
The only knock I have is you need a decent internet speed to look at it from a remote area or the video is very choppy... I live in the countryside so my internet is not super-fast it is about 20-40MB... those who have great internet will not notice this at all. Also, if you replace your floodlight with this you have to remember not to turn the floodlight switch off on the wall ever or the thing stops working. many times, when I was trying to look at mine it would say offline and I would ask my wife if she turned off the floodlight switch and she would say yes and so it was not good until we got back home to turn it back on. There are a lot of things about this camera that are good but I recommend you get it if you want to see them all in action

INTRO:
I have been seeing Eufy cameras in stores and online for a while now but I never considered them. That was a mistake because I’m loving the Eufy camera I now have. This is by far the best video quality I have ever seen in a security system.
I have a few different brands to compare but I’ll get to reviewing this Eufy Security Floodlight Cam Pro 2k.
INSTALLATION:
Everything from wire nuts to hardware was included in the box and detailed instructions was also in the box. After downloading the Eufy Security app you will also find the installation guide to help. As an Electrician I think this is convenient to have because it helped me install the Eufy Security Floodlight Cam Pro the way the manufacturer intended.
I had everything installed after reading the instructions in under 20 minutes.
*To make installation easier be sure to use the included USB to setup your camera before you mount it.
APP:
The app is simple and straight forward. All I did was sign up and followed the prompts to add the camera to the app.
You will be able to view the live video and pan it 360 degrees. Your recorded images will be in 2k for crisp and clear playback. I can turn on the lights or view the live feed using Google. In the app settings I customized the sensitivity of the camera’s motion detections and more. The bright LED lights can be adjusted and also turn on and off from dusk to dawn.
RECOMMENDED FEATURES:
I really like:
The tracking feature. Once it finds the moving object it follows and record until it’s out of view.
I also like the dusk to dawn feature for the lights. I will always have light when it’s needed. I can also change it to motion if I need it. All can be set on the app on my phone.
SECURITY CONCLUSION;
I’m very happy with this Floodlight camera from Eufy. It exceeded my expectations so far and can’t wait to use it everyday.

Best motion sensor flood light on the market

I've been very impressed with the eufy products. I purchased one of the doorbell cameras a while back and found it to be superior to Ring in almost every way. Both of these devices include built in storage and no subscription fees, unless you want cloud storage. The floodlight comes with a whopping 7gb of internal storage.
Installation was very clear and easy. The setup process starts in your house with an included USB power cable, but you must use one of your own power bricks. Once the camera is added to your account, you can start the installation process. I was replacing a broken and dumb motion sensor light, so I already had a power box that I could attach this too. They also include a strap that you can use to hook the floodlight on the box while you attach the wires. Very convenient!
After installation, finalizing the steps in the app was very simple. I did run into a small hiccup when the setup wizard tried to test the connection to the camera and couldn't connect. Although, while I was testing, it sent me a movement notification, so it was already working.
The app is extremely easy to use and has lots of features. The light can be customized to a ridiculous amount and I was able to configure it exactly the way I wanted. Dusk to dawn lighting with warm dim light. Bright motion sensor light in white that last for 30 seconds. Very customizable motion zones that seem to work extremely accurately. The motion sensing also detects from any direction, even if the camera isn't pointed there. You need to enable motion tracking to have the camera follow the movement automatically, but it works well.
This thing is expensive, but extremely worth it!

It was the Best WiFi security camera I have owned & reviewed until it stopped detecting people and movements consistently.
Last year I reviewed a video doorbell by eufy and I was impressed with it. I thought I would be even more impressed with this camera. In the beginning I was but as time went on it failed to detect anything consistently except in test mode.
Let me get right to it. It seemed to work perfectly right after I put it up but after a few days I noticed that it didn’t pick up on a couple of deliveries, vehicles or people, and then my garbage collector the next day. My Ring doorbell camera got them all and it’s just a cheap low end one. So I held off posting my review and retested the camera as well as read the other reviews to see if I'm the only one having problems. I did everything I could think of. Reset the camera, reload the app, temporarily moved my WiFi router and tried all the camera's detection settings. End result was that it wasn’t consistent even when I walked right up to it. Sometimes it saw me most of the time it didn’t. It did seem to work a little better the darker it was outside. The sun was behind the camera so I know strong backlighting wasn’t an issue. Camera is mounted 10 feet off the ground. In test mode it would Consistently detect me up to apx 50 feet away. Less on the sides. Changing the distance settings made no difference. Always about 50 feet and closer. Back to normal mode and it was mostly missing me at any distance.
Then there’s the WiFi performance and picture quality. (see photos) Looks great on a little screen until you zoom in and it’s very blocky. My eufy doorbell cam is the same camera resolution and it doesn’t do that. It stays clean when you zoom in. (see photos) I noted that the app tells the data rate. It never got higher than 15K whereas the doorbell camera goes as high as 250K! Also it shows only 1 bar for 2.4GHZ WiFi no matter where my router (ASUS AX5400 Dual Band Mesh WiFi 6 Gaming Router with a 500+ mbs fiber internet connection) is located. It also has started randomly losing WiFi connection now. The eufy doorbell cam is connected to a “base box” that came with it and hard wired to the router. I tried to see if I could connect this camera to it but it appears I cannot. I never got it to work with Alexa either. Eufy doorbell camera works perfectly with Alexa.
This camera seems to work great for other reviewers. Do I have a defective camera? I would be happy to review another if eufy wants to exchange it.
What I do like about it:
Pan & scan, tunable LED lighting (color temperature), build quality seems very good.
The flood lights & IR illumination work great. Great coverage with the floodlights.
I like the app. It’s easy to use and navigate. Works with multiple cameras and has plenty of options.
Mounting and Connection:
The product is well packed and comes with the necessary hardware to mount it to an electrical junction box. This is good if you are going to mount it where there are already existing flood lights under an eve or a wall mounted light. If you do that to switched lights, you will of course, have to leave the switch on all the time for the thing to work as intended. Could be a problem if you have one switch that turns on more than on light or set of lights. You may need to hire an electrician to install this product. Especially if you need wire to power run to it. If you can do it yourself but you don’t have an existing junction box to install it to by replacing an existing flood light or wall light, then I highly advise that you use a weatherproof junction box to mount it to. See photos. They come in plastic and metal. Also take care to seal up any place where water ingress is possible. The instructions are pretty easy to follow for mounting to a junction box.
Setup is pretty easy and straightforward. You can use the USB port to power it and set it up before you mount it or via WiFi after the fact. Since I already have a eufy doorbell cam setup this part was easy for me. Just click add device and follow directions.

Conclusion:
If this camera and floodlight combo worked like it should I would highly recommend it but sadly I cannot.

Love this little guy! Worked like a champ, easy to setup when manually adding the ID. I have Starlink for internet and the internet went down for about 13 minutes a week after I installed this Floodlight Cam; I was worried that I might have to get up on a ladder and reset it; but after I updated the Starlink software, this little guy reconnected on it's own. After my car was broken into, I needed a porch/front driveway camera. This eufy Security - Floodlight Cam 2 Pro was ideal since it can rotate to detect both front door and my two parking spots adjacent to my porch. I purchased on 19November2022.
What I like about it is that it pivots to detect motion. The user can set up the zones of motion, movement sensitivity, and how much detail on the video feed. The mobile app has “events” on the bottom ribbon to see any critters or people within the field of view. The setup was relatively simple.
After a year, I had issues with connectivity. My home router/modem was no longer being detected by the Cam2Pro. Unfortunately, after troubleshooting it both with eufy and with my ISP, there’s no solution to getting it on Wi-Fi. I can’t hardwire it to an ethernet cord. This is a problem since I travel several times a year and my wife needs some system in place since we don’t have guard dogs in our house and Albuquerque has property crime issues. I’m past the one-year manufacturer warranty, so any hardware/software issues do not get fixed by eufy. Their chat bot wasn’t much help – other than to say talk to Xfinity. The Cam2Pro only connects to my mobile hot spot from my smartphone, which is impractical since I have a router/modem 15 feet away from the camera.
Overall, I would not recommend this camera. It does have climate resilience, and very capable sensors, but I need a dependable connection to my wi-fi if I’m going to keep a security system. Others seem to have had a better experience, so that must mean I have the defective one. Next time, I’m going to get GeekSquadProtection for four years so I can sort this issue out after the manufacturer warranty expires.

Very easy to hookup and setup. The 360 degree viewing is awesome, especially on the corner of the house. It's a bit laggy on tracking at first but seems to have gotten better over time. Recordings are clear and easy to zoom in on faces license plates. The flood lights are fairly bright and do a good job of covering a wide area. I'm very happy with this purchase and plan to put more of these around the house.

This replaced an old LED light that tracked the person. This is a much better unit: brighter and has 360 degree of security video. Tracking and detection are descent. Now, my backyard is bright at night. Easy to install if you follow the instructions. The hook included to help with installation is a great idea! Video quality is only OK for a 2K Camera.

This is a great floodlight/security camera. The floodlight itself is nice and bright and with the 3 adjustable lamps, you can really get a nice broad coverage of light where you need/want it. The 360 degree camera view is really nice too. So far, it's doing a great job at motion detection and the camera follows the person or whatever it detected. The best feature though is the ability to view the live camera and captured videos via the phone app or a web browser without having the video stored in the cloud nor having to pay a monthly subscription! Setup was very easy - had no problem getting the unit to join my network.

I installed this camera in front of my house. I get alert when someone/vehicle close to my house. I can talk to the people when I am not home. The motion light feature at night is wonderful.

This can only be hardwired to a motion sensor light like above your garage or wherever you may have one. So if you don’t have something like that, be aware you’ll need to get one installed. Once it’s installed though, this thing is BRIGHT and tracks movement in a full circle. Perfect for monitoring the corner of a building or house.
