DO NOT BUY!!!

If you have Xfinity Internet service definitely do not buy this. I bought this camera and a video doorbell camera back in June 2024. For about six weeks they worked flawlessly, then started going off-line, ending up staying off-line and never working again. I wanted these to work so much that I bought a more advanced doorbell from eufy. that one didn’t even work right out of the box.

Frustrated

When I get a notification of movement, I go to view it and it states that it failed to load video clip and to pull down to update and it keeps repeating the same message after refreshing.

Nice wireless camera with wireless and solar

Build quality is top notch and looks to withstand the weather for many years to come. install was easy. Just locate position and install - the locate the solar panel to a prime position. There is a lead to move this around the corner or over the eaves if needed. Being solar powered means no need to have an outlet available for the device. Pick the best spot!! Picture quality was good and had ample zoom capabilities for enhanced views. Easy to setup app for remote access. Night vision was good and able to see out quite a bit. Manual states 50 ft but I was able to have good view a bit further. Camea provide 360 degree rotation with 70 degree tilt provides a nearly complete field of view around and below the camera Over all a great camera that provide easy installation and good picture quality. Storage is local on the device at 8GB but you can upload to a central hub to increase storage or go to cloud storage for a small fee.

Not as Efficient as Promised

Ring is pretty much the bottom of the barrel so i thought a 3K camera wow, must be great! Dual lenses too! The actual truth is it runs at 15 frames per second. It is under processing and rhe motion detection misses a person from 10’ away. Then it randomly picks up a person and misses everything else. Do not buy.

The best yet
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.With the assortment of cameras and systems on the outside of my house, I have to say the Eufy SoloCam S340 is my new favorite, easily able to replace two existing mounted cameras due to the 360 degree PTZ and AI tracking. The SoloCam S340 is a battery operated security camera that comes with a solar panel to keep the battery charged. Having no wires, your installation location is only limited by the strength of your Wi-Fi which the app will help you determine. Installation was simple, with the included template and a few screws. Setup with the Eufy Security app was smooth - connecting the camera to my Wi-Fi in just a few steps. The dual lens setup gives you both wide angle and zoom video at the same time along 8x physical zoom. I found video from both lenses to be outstanding - colors were bright and clear. I can clearly see everyone walking on the sidewalk about 40 feet in front of the house. Night vision is available in color with the built in spot light and black and white with infrared lighting. I feel the b&w for night use yields a better picture than color but both provide more than acceptable footage. Ultimately though, the reason you buy this camera is the pan & tilt function and deservedly so. With 70 degrees tilt and 360 degree panning along with the dual cameras, this one unit now covers the entire front of my house. Oh, and to make the movements even better, it has on-board AI tracking that follows subjects through its field of view - and it works great! The AI tracking accurately follows everyone walking up and down my front walk. The PTZ motors are silent to not draw attention. I like that you can select up to four preset camera positions to quickly point in specific directions like a door and sidewalk. Motion sensitivity lets you define specific areas to monitor to help prevent false/numerous false notifications. You also have a choice in how you get notified, either just text, text and a thumbnail The S340 is capable of two-way communication. The onboard microphone is sensitive and clear. The speaker is easily understandable but tinney. The S340 has fully customizable security modes that allow you to configure what happens when motion is detected including sounding the built-in siren and flashing the light as well as notifying a monitoring center when paired with the Eufy HomeBase/protection plan. You can also pair the S340 with Alexa and Google. Both options connected to the accounts however, Google was unable to connect to the camera. The battery is rated to last up to three months between charges which makes this a great camera even before you add the solar panel. My location only gets the morning sun which is enough to keep it fully charged. The app has a power manager setting that allows you to customize between optimal battery life or optimal surveillance and has a solar dashboard to show you a graph of battery trends and green energy. There are no user serviceable parts in the S340 leaving two issues for me. The camera comes with 8GB on-board memory which should be more than enough for saving months of video. While this is upgradable, it's a bit deceiving since the upgrade path is by purchasing the Eufy HomeBase 3 which can handle up to 16 terabytes of storage. On the plus side though, the HomeBase 3 is currently available for less than $100 and by adding it you also benefit from additional AI features like person identification and Eufy’s Edge security ecosystem. The second thing is the battery. This is not replaceable meaning that when it dies the whole unit becomes E-Waste and will need to be replaced. Overall I love this camera and in addition to converting to the Edge ecosystem, I highly recommend it.

WiFi and solar, basically mount it and forget it!

This new SoloCam S340 surpassed even my expectations. This camera requires absolutely nothing because it's solar powered and includes 8Gb of internal storage. It comes with everything you need to install, including screws. It looks like Eufy is taking a page from the smartphone handbook by having separate cameras for wide angle and telephoto rather than a single camera with mechanical optical zoom. It makes it more effective because you can actually set it up to record in split screen thereby seeing both the surrounding area and the subject in detail. This is the first solar powered camera I see that incorporates pan and tilt features making it very useful at covering a wider area. With this camera, you don't have to worry about blind spots when your subject moves outside of the field of view. The use of advanced AI human detection works better than other cameras I have, minimizing false alarms like a car driving past or an animal. You get sharp recordings day or night with 3k resolution on the wide angle camera and color night vision if you enable the 100 lumen spot light in the app. The Eufy app connected easily to the camera and the onscreen tutorial made it easy to find and access all the features. I was able to preset a resting position and setup the dual screen recording. The two way audio is clear and I don't get an echo like other cameras. The color night vision enables the spot light automatically, but the in-color field of view isn't limited to the effectiveness of the light, the full distance is in color, even the sky. I used the mounting bracket and supplied screws to mount the camera on a pergola post near my pool at about an 8ft level. I mounted the solar panel directly on top of the unit since I had good visibility. I like that the panel can be mounted in a different location with the included 10ft usb-c cable, in case you're installing it under an eve or something. I haven't found any faults in this camera, definitely worth it.

Great camera with nice options and flexibility

It give you so many more options on places to put it because it pans and the automatic tracking works surprisingly well. The picture quality is great. The double camera setup is a little interesting to view but is handy to have the zoomed in view. The nightvision works well and the camera still tracks well in the dark. There is a wide range of settings you can adjust to customize it to fit you exact setup or expectations. I like being able to adjust the motion detection range and the phone notification options. I will say this definitely needs to be hooked up to the solar panel. The panel does a fine job at keeping it charged. I have several other battery cameras and they last anywhere from 3-6 months between charges. This one seems to last about a week if it's tracking frequently and no solar panel. I think that's more than enough to cover for winter weather where it won't be getting as much sun. The app is also getting better with every update. I used to be annoyed by a few little things or connectivity problems but it's been pretty consistent over the past year so I'm happy with the system. I also really like that they gave it the option to connect straight to WIFI or to link up to a Eufy Homebase if you are adding this to an existing system. My Homebase is older (I think this one only links to the Gen3 Homebase) so I set it up connected straight to my WIFI. Even being connected through a different path it still shows in the app the same way the other cameras do. Overall I'm really happy with this camera and I think it will work well to round out my camera system. I would definitely recommend it.

Great Resolution and Detail

We have their video doorbell and eufycams with the built in solar panels. The SoloCam S340 with solar power is a nice addition to our system with its dual camera ability that allows one to see the full picture, along with a detailed closer view. Its really a nice feature to get the close in shot that shows in the Eufy app event on the same screen as the full, wide view panel above it. The clarity of the video is very good with 3K resolution and 8X zoom. 360 degree pan and 70 degree tilt coverage helps to eliminate blind spots which provides us with enhanced coverage over the previous model Eufy camera we had in this location. The SoloCam S340 is a great choice for us as we are covering our driveway, gates and part of our backyard with this one camera. Again, the app events are easy to view in a single frame showing full view and detailed view. AI intelligence is used to filter and minimize notifications as it tracks people, vehicles and pets. The Eufy app allows for customization of many settings related to activity zones, motion, power management, camera positioning, video and audio among others. The app is user friendly and very intuitive to use. The camera and solar panel were easy to set up and add to our existing Eufy app. Just follow the in-app instructions and mount the camera and solar panel in your desired locations. The wireless system allows for great placement flexibility with minimal setup time required. We’ve had no issues with charge power as Eufy states that two hours of direct sunlight daily is sufficient to keep the camera powered continuously. One of our favorite things about Eufy security products is that no monthly storage fees are required and all storage is local and expandable on the Eufy Homebase. No need to worry about your personal, video data being compromised with offsite storage or your wallet being thinner from monthly service fees. Eufy makes quality, dependable products at a fair price and we’ll continue to add to our system as they seem to continually enhance their lineup.

This is a great pan and tilt camera!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had been looking for a camera that offers Pan & Tilt features, so when the opportunity came up to try the eufy Security - SoloCam S340, I went for it immediately. Not only do you get the pan and tilt feature, but you also get a solar panel, AND dual camera feature! This is incredible! To start, the eufy Security - SoloCam S340 offers two cameras that will make capturing any intruders or incidents so much easier. One camera allows a wide angle while the other offers a zoomed in view to make capturing license plates of the faces of any intruders. The spotlights is another incredible feature that makes the video quality so much better at night. Another great feature that you can setup is the ability for the camera to track the movement of people and focus in on them. This is definitely a great feature to have. As with most cameras alike, you also have two-way audio. As you can see by the picture, you also get a solar panel for charging. This is extremely convenient to have. It is a huge pain in the rear having to climb up to remove a camera just to charge it. The panel does a great job at keeping the battery charged. With most other cameras, you have to buy the panel seperately, which really sucks. You can either mount the panel on top of the camera body, or you can utilize the provided bracket to mount it somewhere else where it will be exposed to direct sunlight. It doesn't get more convenient than that. As for the major drawback, the main one is that there is no memory card slot for local recordings to be stored. It has 8gb of internal storge, which isn't much. If you want more local storage so that you don't have to sign up for a monthly subscription, you would have to go with their Homebase S380. I guess if you have their other cameras and devices this may be a great option for you. eufy, please add a memory card slot for your next version. This would have made this camera SO much better. Although you don't get 4k picture quality, you get 3k. It's been good enough for me so far, but I would really have loved a 4k picture quality to be standard on a camera like this. Although there are those minor setbacks, I really love the eufy Security - SoloCam S340. It has made keeping our home secure so much easier. I love the ability to control the pan and tilt of the camera. I would highly recommend the eufy Security - SoloCam S340 to anyone.
