Customers appreciate the eufyCam 2's excellent camera quality, ease of use, and long battery life. Many also praise its effective night vision capabilities and wide range. However, some users have noted that the motion detection could be improved for accuracy and speed. Overall, the positive feedback on image quality and usability outweighs concerns about motion detection.

If you have a pre-existing eufy network with homebase-2, and you're looking to expand your camera coverage, this is it. This camera is simply great. Installation is simple, haven't had to charge the battery yet and likely won't for another 7 months, and the image quality both day and night is crisp and clear. I have this installed outside, which means you'll have to drill into your siding or contrive some other mounting system. I was drilling into brick which isn't fun, but I didn't have any issues. The camera comes with a nice template for easy placement of pilot holes/screws. I couldn't find a masonry bit in the correct size (it was a weird one), so I just bought the next large size and everything worked smoothly. Interior installation is much easier. All you need is a single screw and you can use the included magnetic mount. I would love to use the magnetic mount outdoors because the camera is in a hard-to-reach spot so it'd be safe from theft, but unfortunately we do have severe storms pretty regularly in my part of the world so that's a no go. Maintenance is minimal and very simple. Unscrew (or pull with magnetic mount) the camera from it's mounting plate, plug it in to charge, then just put it back. Everything else can be handled in the app. The app allows you to view a live feed, view/save/delete recordings, change recording parameters including activity zone and person/animal detection and a lot more. The app is pretty extensive. The camera also allows 2-way communication useful if you have children or partners that are prone to doing stupid/dangerous stuff when left to their own devices. Overall the performance is great. Streaming to my phones and tablets all work very well, though there is noticeable macroblocking and buffering in the stream. The recordings all look great at the full camera quality though. You're success with this camera is largely dependent upon how deep into the eufy ecosystem you already are. I had the new doorbell and homebase 2 so this was an easy purchase for me as I was looking for an addon camera and this one happened to be on sale. You're main concern will be placement of the homebase 2, which handles all of the communication between the cameras and your devices. The homebase 2 sadly seems to have pretty poor range, probably from a weak wifi radio? I'm not sure, but I can't lay the blame on the cameras for that. what this means in practice is that two-way communication while streaming from a camera has a lot of lag. You'll notice this as well with your notifications, often receiving them after the action your camera captured is long gone. Not a camera problem, a homebase problem. But that won't matter much to you. All in all this is an easy recommendation for people looking for a simple wireless camera solution. It's good enough, but there are shortcomings. If you have a medium to large house and want to complete coverage you may need multiple homebases in order to guarantee communication with everything, but I have no idea how that implementation would work. Bear in mind that if you're using this as an indoor camera communications will not be an issue, but I suspect most people will be using this as an outdoor security camera.

Great Wireless Camera w/Free Local Video Storage

Purchased the Eufy Battery Operated Wireless Wi-Fi eufyCam2 Indoor/Outdoor 1080p Security Camera after some extensive online research. I purchased this camera as a package that included the Eufy Video Doorbell and the Eufy Homebase2 base station. The Eufy devices from Anker are some of the few systems that includes free local video/audio clip and smartphone notification storage that does not require a monthly payment plan or in-the-cloud storage. In this case, video/audio clips and notifications from the camera are stored in the non-volatile Flash memory of the HomeBase2 station. Thus this information remains within my control and supposedly is not available to Anker for their use to "..improve camera/artificial intelligence/whatever performance.." This is what sold me on this system. This is a battery operated camera that will require periodic removal from its mounting base to be plugged into a USB charger to re-charge the internal battery, usually for overnight. Installation was easily accomplished by following the supplied printed instructions as well as links to instructional videos provided in the EufySecurity App that must be downloaded to your smart phone(s), tablet(s), computer(s), etc. So far, with the built-in Human Detection AI system and the user-programmable Detection Zones, we have had only a few nuisance notifications from wildlife, shadows, windblown foliage or nearby traffic. Video clip quality is excellent in all lighting conditions. The audio on both sides of the camera-to-smart phone link is very intelligible to both sides of the conversation. So far, the only negatives are: 1. The aforementioned nuisance notifications. These usually only occur at night when stray cats or the operation of the automatic irrigation system will trigger the camera. The camera switches from Human and Motion detection to All Motion detection at night. This is built-into the design of the camera S/W. There is a user-programmable Sensitivity control in the App that could be used to filter the nuisance notifications. But, I have not yet discovered the appropriate combination of settings. 2. The time delay between when motion is detected in the Detection Zones and the time when you receive a notification on your smart phone. If you are ever hoping to catch someone on your property, they could be out of sight before you are notified of their presence. 3. Also, there is a large noticeable delay between when either you or your visitor speaks until the other person hears what was said through the camera-to-smartphone audio link. This could lead to each of you taking turns talking over each other as you try to hold an extended conversation through the camera. This is a heartily-recommended Security Camera System that be a useful addition to a home security system. The Homebase2 station can be used with additional cameras and other compatible doorbells, motion sensors, door/window sensors, etc from Anker. And all video/audio/notification information remains locally stored and in your control.

After searching for a camera system for months I decided to go with the Eufy system when I caught the sale/promotion including the base w/2 eufyCam 2 indoor/outdoor camera plus an add on eufyCam 2 indoor/outdoor camera. The picture quality is good. After several weeks the camera began to record with the white balance being off which is visible in the recordings but corrects itself in about a second. Also noticed was horizontal lines through the video when seen at night with both the night vision or auxiliary lighting. To me both these problems are annoyances and not deal breakers. And both these issues may be a result of the mounted location in direct sunlight which I was unable to avoid. I wish the actions zones could be rotated clockwise/counter clockwise to be more customizable to a specfic enviroment/landscape. The main reasons I choose the Eufy system is that Eufy is put out buy AnkerDirect which I own several products. Second is the ability to store recorded video on my personal WD My Cloud EX2 Ultra NAS device. Overall I'm pleased with the purchase.

I started off my eufy experience with the wired doorbell. I was so impressed with the ease of use, quality, and secure storage I wanted to expand my security system with more eufy products. My next step was adding the wireless doorbell with homebase 2, and these cam 2 cameras. Everything works together nicely and is easy to setup and control from eufys security app. Additional note: I purchased 2 of these cameras, and mounted one about 17 feet off the ground. I was a little concerned about the detection at this height but it still detects movement and people within approx 20 feet of the camera. This works great for detection closer to the house but also being able to see the majority of my backyard when viewing through the app. I highly recommend eufy products and will continue to buy them in the future!

I love these Eufy cameras. I bought this one to add a camera to our current system. I like the fact that these don't need to store anything in the cloud. Everything is on the base hard drive. That means no monthly fee unless you want to pay for monitoring. Another great thing about this model is that the battery lasts a year on one charge. Actually, mine have gone over a year. The system is easy to set up and the app works great. You can even talk through the cam via the app. The quality of the video is good and the night vision is excellent.

Great picture, good audio. Gave it 4 stars because the mounting components are a little skimpy. Have had them running for over a month with indication of battery power loss. My only problem seems to be my home wifi (which was spotty long before this purchase) I couldn't mount cameras where I first wanted to. But with their range and field of view was able to get full property coverage. The infrared does work, even in total darkness , however it is greatly enhanced with auxiliary light source. Overall, extremely happy with the purchase and will be adding more cameras to the system in the near future.

This is the third unit we purchase as they have proven to be very reliable. The image quality is really good, I don't know if it will last the 365 days on one charge as we bought our initial 2 about 6 months ago and they are both showing half percent, but the fact that you can fully charge them overnight is so convenient, also don't have to deal with no wires so can install virtually anywhere you can screw the base in! Also no monthly fees which is the main reason we switched to the Eufy system.

This is the 4th EufyCam 2 I have purchased. I really like the ease of use and quality of this camera. No cords or plugs of any kind, just charge up overnight & you are good for many months. I use the heck out of these cameras, recording & viewing around the clock. The two way audio is amazing, very load & clear. The Eufy app is great too!

I purchased this setup to avoid having to go the POE route. The performance is acceptable although I ran into lag of responsiveness at times. The features and customization options are acceptable but having a POE system before, I had high if not comparable expectations which these cameras did not meet. If hardwired cameras is not an option for you, this is a good alternative.

The qulity of the picture quality is what you would expect from a 1080p camera. The real upside is the wireless connection and the motion sensor technology. The battery life is also amazing but it's life depends on the motion settings. I have had it for awhile and have had no issues with all the weather conditions we have in the midwest.

Might not be as advertised as Ring and other brands, this is pretty good for the quality and features it already possess. Definitely there are a long way to go in terms of few home automation features, but it’s something can’t be beat at this price point and no subscription.

If you are looking for a good wireless camera ecosystem, Eufy is the way to go. Range from home base is excellent (100+ ft, thru multiple walls, in my experience). Will zero I'll effects to the quality or responsiveness. Eufy is always updating their firmware and app software to better the experience. Their non subscription business model definitely gives them an edge up on the competition.

Camera quality is good but detection is a few seconds slow. A quick delivery drop off usually on covers back of the delivery person. If you are looking for true security, I would suggest to look for constant powered device.
