Overall: 3.5 out of 5 - the doorbell meets all basic functionality standards, but doesn't go beyond that physically or software wise. Doorbell aesthetics: 9 out of 10 - sleek, black, slim, amazing trim, light up bottons, etc. Doorbell audio quality: 4 out of 10 - sounds like a $2 speaker in a $200 doorbell. This may be due to latency vs. the speaker. People can still understand what you are saying when you speak through the doorbell, but the quality is trash for the price tag. I've heard other doorbells that are way more clear. The doorbell mic quality is trash as well. Doorbell video quality: 7 out of 10 - serves the purpose and provides good low light visibility, even with nearby interferences such as porch lights. Chime Sound Quality: Not even going to rate that piece of junk.... App Quality and Functionality: 4 out of 10 - Hit's the most basic of functionality points. Doesn't go much past that. Latency, data, and background process handling are absolutely awful, however, this doesn't make the doorbell useless. It's just upsetting when you expect more from a rather expensive item.

    Great product but horrible battery

This Eufy doorbell camera was great at first, but then ran into issue. First off, great picture quality. Easy to use app. Audio picked up real good. But the battery life is straight horrible. Says up to 120 days on a charge, but we couldn't get more than a weeks use on a charge. We first had to set up to pick up as much as possible because we've had neighbors tampering with our vehicles recently, and it worked great. Picked up just about everything and everyone and notified us. But the battery wouldn't last even 2 days on a charge. Then changed the settings and got it to last about a week, but wouldn't pick up or notify about anything beyond our porch, which only sticks about about 5 feet beyond the door. Great product but HORRIBLE battery life.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience. We're really sorry you've encountered this issue!

I understand your disappointment in this situation. Please note that battery life varies, depending on how many times the doorbell is triggered, recording time duration, and environmental temperatures. In most common scenarios, a fully charged doorbell can last for 180-day. eufy battery doorbell test was done in the following conditions:

      - Temperature: 68°F (20°C)
      - 10 motion detections per day
      - Recorded for 30 seconds each time motion was detected
      - Standby power consumption was included during the usage time

Battery life varies and depends on the number of times motion is detected, recording time duration, and environmental temperatures.

In this case, may I trouble you to try the following troubleshooting tips?
-Choose the Balance Surveillance working mode. Step: Devices- Power manager. In this mode, the power consumption of the battery will be reduced, but it may also cause some motions will not be able to be detected.
-Select ""Human Only"" instead of ""All Motions"". Or decrease the sensitivity. Steps: Devices>motion detection>sensitivity level
-Set up or narrow the Activity Zone to filter the false positives.

Very Short Battery Life and Other Problems

    Posted .

Have had for 11 months now. Pros: Easy to install. NO wiring adaptation needed -- runs on internal battery. Motion detection and low light performance very good. Cons: 30 days (at most) battery life! It is promoted with "120 day battery life". NOT true. As you can see from several other reviews, this is not true. Eufy should be more honest. Once you remove and recharge, the unit should snap back into the wall base. But my unit is VERY difficult to snap back in. Tolerances are too tight! Must try over and over and over with great force to get it back on the wall plate again. Finally, the lens has started to deteriorate, and it is getting worse! Like a cataract. (See picture) Eufy customer service has declined any assistance, because I no longer have the original sales slip. Ok, I dont have the sales slip... nevertheless, it is still a defective unit. Nice and shiny on the outside, but cheap on the inside.

So far, my husband and I like this, though he seems to have better luck with the notifications coming through on his Android vs. my Apple. It should be noted that within 3 days of installing this, we had random people show up at our house and it was super helpful to have this!

This unit preforms just as well as the other guys that I’ve witnessed in action at friend’s homes. What’s the difference? Honestly not much; however, there is no expense monthly/yearly paid subscription plan to go with this! You can have the same high quality unit, without the ongoing expense! It’s wireless (battery powered) so placement is a breeze. This unit is very versatile and compact all while being super reliable!

I have had my eufy - Security Video Doorbell Slim 1080P Battery installed for about 10 days now and can honestly say that I am impressed. The kit comes with an indoor chime unit that plugs into any ordinary home electrical outlet. It comes in two pieces - the main body and the actual plug which needs to be attached to the chime body. No worries here, it is a simple action to put the plug body into a slot in he back of the chime unit and with a 1/4 turn it locks in. The second piece is the video doorbell body. This is a fully contained unit with batteries preinstalled. A charging cable (no charging base) is also included so that you can make sure your unit is fully charged before installation. A mounting base and a sepatate 15 degree 'shim' is also inicluded. The 'shim' allows you to angle your field of view slightly. Mounting the base is simple - two screws, which come in the kit. There are also anchors to allow for installation on a concrete or brick wall. I mounted my outdoor unit over where my wired doorbell was installed, used the 'shim,' and it only took a few minutes. Very simple. Once the doorbell unit was fully charged, I snapped it into the mounting base - angle the top of the doorbell into the base and snap it down into the lock position - and was ready to go. After assembling the chime unit and plug, I pulgged it in and walked through the setup procedures. Once I realized that it would not connect to my 'guest' wifi network (helps if you actually READ the instructions! LOL,) it was simple to connect to my wifi network. Just a note here -- The intallation instructions tell you that it will only connect to a 2.4GHz network. That is not entirely correct. If your wifi network is 5GHz and can handle 2.4GHZ components, which almost all can, it works beautifully. After that, it is a matter of creating your eufy account online and managing your settings, installiing the app on your phone (or other device) and enjoy your new video doorbell. About the units themselves: The chime unit seems a bit heavy and with the plug mount near the bottom of the unit it acts like it wants to fall out of the wall plug, but it doesn't. There is a small support ring around the unit plug, so it sits there comfortably. The wifi antennas ship attached and folded against the chime base and need to be moved into their 'working' position, which makes the chime unit look like a little 'alien' against your wall. There are a number of available chime sounds that you can set through the online page, so you have plenty of options to choose from. The unit puts out good sound and can be heard clearly throughout the house. Although the writeup for the kit states that SD card is NOT included, my kit came with a 16GB card already installed. Maybe this is new? The unit will overwrite the oldest video(s) when the card is full, or you can delete individual videos at your own choosing. There is also an option for cloud based storage of videos, if you so desire. The doorbell itself is a pretty hefty piece, but sits nicely in its base on the doorframe where I installed it. It is not bulky at all (as this is called the "slim" version.) It has a large (1" diameter) button taking up the bottom half of the unit and the video camera taking up the top half. As this is my first video doorbell, I was not accustomed to the fish-eye video, but find no problem with it at all. The 'field of vision' of the camera is great, both front and sides. Except for a small area where the brick face stick out past the door frame, I can see my entire front porch and front yard clearly. Video quality is great, even at 1080p. Colors pop and motion is picked up clearly. Audio pickup from this unit is much better than I expected. Using the camera as a monitor - from the app you can see and hear the 'liveview' at any time - I could see the leaves on the trees moving in the breeze and hear the sounds of the birds chirping clearly. The night vision on the camera is very clear as well. Anything within about 25 feet of the camera comes in clearly. As far as the battery life goes, I have only had this unit for about 10 days, but there has been no drop in the charge indicator at all. You can check this on the app or your online page. The app gives you many options for settings, which I will not go into here, that allow you to customize both the doorbell/camera and the chime used for that particular doorbell unit. This would allow you to add eufy video doorbell devices to one chime unit. You can see/set the 'sleep' setting for that unit. You can also see any videos that have been created that are still on your storage media. There is anotification box listiing the number of unviewed videos avaialble. There is also a view from the camera - initially the last time you did a 'live view' from the doorbell camera. Selecting Play on this view will show you the current view of the camera (LiveView) with a date/timestamp at the upper right of the video. After 10 days, I can say that I am very pleased with the "eufy Security Video Doorbell Slim 1080p Battery" kit. I am definitely thinking of getting more doorbell units to add to the system for my other entrances. It would be nice to see how well they pick up the animals running through my backyard!!
