I purchased this unit to replace a Roku 2, which was getting a bit long on the tooth. The Express 4K plus is a basic device, albeit one capable of playing 4k content. It comes with everything one needs, the power cord and brick, an hdmi cable and the Roku voice remote, which also includes power, volume and mute controls for your television. Setup was quick and easy, guided by an included quick start guide. After powering up the device, you are prompted to set up your wifi connection. You then log onto your Roku account if you have one, or set one up if you don't. The device then downloaded a software upgrade and loaded all the apps I'm currently subscribed to. That was the longest part of the process and only took a couple of minutes. I did have some issues at first, with HDMI error messages. Suspecting that the issue might lie with my television, which was older and only had HDMI 1.4, I manually set the display resolution to 1080p and the issue vanished. I would expect that actual 4K televisions would not have the issue as they should come with HDMI 2.0, Performance is excellent, even Peacock loads quickly. I love the voice remote, it was very easy to hook up and connect to my television and all of the shortcut buttons are current. This is a more basic device, but one you can use to experience 4k programming on a 4k television. It does require an HDMI connection to the television.

My old 4210 Roku was becoming too slow and started randomly restarting itself. Otherwise it works well. However it became frustrating just to navigate the streaming channels and I decided to upgrade. I found the Express 4K+ 3941r2 on sale at the time for less than the plain Express 3960 that was not on sale. No regrets. The Express 4K+ works as well as my more expensive Ultra 4800 with the same voice remote features. The Express 4K+ just doesn't support Dolby Vision or Atmos, but it does support HDR. Also the Express 4K+ comes with the power adapter, where the plain Express does not. The only issue I had is the length of the provided HDMI cable. It is short and intended for the Express 4k+ to be mounted on the TV near the HDMI ports. Since the Express 4K+ uses an RF remote I placed it under the TV out of site in the cabinet closer to the AC outlets and used my existing 4K rated HDMI cable. Note, the plain Express uses the lesser remote that is IR line of sight, so it cannot be hidden. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with my choice and the performance. Setup is standard Roku and very simple if you have ever set one up before. If new to Roku, it is not rocket science, just follow the prompts. OH! One last thing I encountered, is the light on this model Roku will not turn off like the previous Roku's. You can find discussions on this. I found that the default setting for this unit is for the unit to turn off after 20 min of inactivity to save power. For some reason, this setting causes to light to stay on even if the TV is off. Just uncheck this setting and the light will turn off in a few seconds after the TV is turned off and work like all the other Roku's.

I wish that Roku would design everything electronic. It works so easily with any brand of TV. This set is so easy to set up and just start streaming television that anyone can do it. I love the voice remote and the buttons to get to popular sites like Netflix.

Bought this for my Dad’s birthday and he was thrilled to have it. He’s been wanting a streaming device to cut the cord because cable is just too expensive and this one is perfect. A 4K streaming device the size of a computer mouse packs a punch! Very user friendly. This one comes with a remote that has a voice command as well as all the essentials you’ll need to control your TV. Although this one doesn’t have the Audio Jack on the remote, I still recommend this Roku as being the best in their lineup. Happy streaming!

Bought one of these about two weeks ago and it was DOA, so returned to BB & the replacement works great! We got this to replace the cable box in our main bedroom as we can use the Spectrum app on the Roku & accomplish the same thing w/o having to pay for another cable box. We now have just the one cable/dvr box in our living room. Because we have a Spectrum account, we can use the Spectrum app on ALL of our Roku devices and watch all channels we have in our subscription...yay! With this Express 4K+, we get great response speed, clear picture & the remote easily paired/controls our Samsung tv. Overall, I like the Roku products better than the Fire stuff...we have multiples of each spread throughout different rooms & garages/outbuildings. I do like the ease of the Roku set up & end user experience better than the Firestick/Cube. The Roku just seems so much more intuitive as Amazon Fire tends to push so much junk/non-relative content that it overloads the user experience. This Roku Express 4K+ is perfect for those who may believe they are tech challenged and yet can be optionally customized for those looking for more than basic streaming needs. Buy one and you won't regret it...as long as you have Wi-Fi you are good to go!

Excellent price, easy setup, fast load times. Upgraded from an older Firestick and it’s much newer, faster and overall easier to use with a better user interface than the firestick

Works great and seems fast for streaming. The remote has great functions and the receiver is nice and small, fits on the little shelf I had our Amazon cube on before.

I should have cut the cord a long time ago. Roku is simple to set up and easy to use. If you aren't sure what to do just let the online tutorials walk you through it. Tons and tons of content. The Roku channel alone is worth the entire investment in the Roku-Express 4K+ (2021) streaming media player. You can push buttons or use your voice remote. Whatever works for you. The main thing, just find one of the thousands of choices to watch, sit back and enjoy. Great TV.

The Roku Express 4K+ delivers fast performance, excellent picture quality, and super easy setup. The voice remote works great, and having TV controls built-in is really convenient. Streaming in 4K looks fantastic, and the included HDMI cable is a nice bonus. Perfect choice for upgrading any TV.

First time owning a Roku. I bought the Roku to replace a Spectrum HD converter box for my bedroom tv so I could save the monthly rental fee for that Spectrum device for a tv that does not get used that much. I am amazed at how small the Roku device is but man does it every do an amazing job. It was easy to connect to my bedroom Plasma TV and connect to my WI-FI Network. I am totally satisfied so far. In 3 months it has been paid for by the savings from no longer having to pay Spectrum for renting an HD converter box and now I am saving money by no longer having to pay that rental fee.

The Roku Express 4k+ was purchased to provide Roku functionality on a TV which had limited smart features. Connecting up, configuring the wireless settings, and registering was easy to do. This Roku is very responsive, with an easy to use remote with just a few buttons to navigate channels, and settings. There is a great variety of channel groups including free channels such as Pluto, and the Roku channel itself which also has a variety of free shows. There are buttons on the remote that allow for quick direct access to Netflix, Disney, Hulu, etc. This Roku is very compact, which allows for easy placement. Since purchasing this Roku, it has worked well without any problems.

Ok for all practical purposes this little device obsoletes the remote on your TV. Which on most tvs, is a good thing. Gone are the multitude of little stupid buttons with one function replaced with a handful of very useful , conveniently spaced and easily memorized location buttons. It will not run your other tv functions, like changing sources from cable to antenna, so you will need the old remote still for that but if you are moving to streaming you are all set. A Roku is smarter and faster than a lot of “smart tvs” with a simpler better organized interface and a faster move thru streaming channels. It’s like a TV upgrade in speed. The voice command is very helpful most of the time but can’t find somethings that are hidden in some streamers offerings. A search will bring up some services you are not subscribing to also which is good and bad depending on the operator (children or the elderly) In my case I got this for an elderly family member that had had it with his cable bill. He has failing eyesight and was unable to read his existing 45 button remote. This gave him a simple device and voice command greatly improving his satisfaction. Roku sticks differ mainly in the amount of resolution they will provide and auto adjust if your TV needs lower resolution like 1080p. So make sure you get one that’s 4K if your TV has that capability. Also make sure it has voice command if that is important to you

I bought this for my parents who have been using DirecTV for many years and complaining about the amount of commercials, lack of new content (always playing reruns) and to help them save some money. They have been using it for the last month and it has been great to them. The module is extremely easy to set up, small, and works pretty smooth.

In preparation for transitioning from satellite tv to streaming, I did the research on several streaming devices and settled on the Express 4K+ as the best choice considering features and price. It helped that Best Buy had the units at $10 off the retail price. I purchased one, tested it out and got two more. It takes a bit to get up to speed, but once you learn to navigate the various features the unit has a lot to offer. It has not dropped the signal a single time. The remote works well and has the ability to control the tv on-off, volume up-down, and mute via dedicated buttons. Set up was easy, and it identified each tv (I have three different models) correctly to work with the tv controls. The three TVs were pre-2015, with two Smart Samsung and one older Vizio.
