Last year I watched the movie "Good Kill" which was another really film about the harsh realities of "Drone Warfare", so when I saw the trailer for this film, I picked it up as soon as it came out. I must say I wasn't disappointed. The film takes the view behind the scenes of what can potentially happen on a drone operation when someone is ordered to pull the trigger and end lives thousands of miles away, which all feels like surreal, nightmarish video game, particularly when innocents enter the area of operations and a choice has to be made about whether or not their lives can simply be chalked up as "collateral damage" for the greater good of bringing down terrorists planning a bombing. Like Good Kill, this film excels at making you feel the anxiety of the drone pilot as they are torn between following a direct order which may haunt them for the rest of their lives, or possibly having their careers ended for questioning the directive. The other thing I really liked about this film is that it doesn't present a clear cut opinion of what was right or wrong in the events that ultimately unfold. Instead, it presents the viewer with a scenario, that quite honestly you could ponder for days and still be unsure of your opinion on, and leaves you to decide for yourself if what happened was the right call. I think even beyond that, it makes the viewer aware that this type of thing is probably happening on a fairly regular basis and has effectively created a whole new breed of controversy from the use of weaponized drones. Highly recommended.

The movie is excellent with solid production values. Great performances form the principal actors. It is a morality tale with different points of view and asks questions about morality. Political, military, and moral costs are displayed. The two special features are thought-provoking but limited. Additional special features about the making of the film, cast interviews, etc would raise this product from good to excellent.

This is an examination of the processes that go into deciding to use drone attacks against terrorists. What we see is terrorists being destroyed along with the innocent. We also see the emotional harm such attacks do on the low level soldiers who have to execute the commands of the higher ups. If this movie has a theme it's that there are no winners in drone warfare and no clear good and bad guys.

What a challenging and gripping story! The politics, the ethics, the debates, the dissentions of war and killing at a distance and remotely were all so well integrated into this movie. This discussion will continue into the future. It shows that the stresses and traumas of warfare are present even though the combatants are never face-to-face.

The topic was current. I liked two of the English actors Helen Mirren and Alan Rickman in his last role. I was somewhat disappointed in Ms. Mirren's role and the tempo of the story, but considering the complexity of the political approvals thrown up by weak willed politicians rolling the can it was ok.

I love Helen Mirren and she certainly did not disappoint in this fast moving and dramatic movie. I missed her comedic banter but she was certainly a central figure that challenged you throughout the movie. The foreign policy interplay with military interests were timely and well written as well as well acted. Watch it !

An important drama about the sad state of terrorists willing to wreck havoc through countries around the world. Illustrates the moral arguments of Reaper remote warfare. Is the risk of killing/maiming innocents outweigh the intent of terrorists wearing bomb vests to create greater casualties?

Whether it was the intent or not, this movie depicts the hard decisions that are sometimes required in the world of the military and how careers hinge upon one decision. It also shows how careers can be the most important part of the decision.

Every year my husband takes me out for a birthday movie. This was my pick for this year. I received a lesson in drone technology. What I learned is scary. The movie is a little plodding, but very worth the watch. You will never look at the sky again in the same way.

There have been several movies out in the past four years with very similar backgrounds. I feel this is the most realistic of the bunch. It really makes you think about what actually happens. And makes you hope it doesn't happen here.

The plot to this movie was very realistic. The actors did an excellent job in their character performance. I first read reviews about the movie, then, based on those reviews, I viewed as a rental. Finally, I bought it and added it to my library.

This is a good movie to have in the ever growing movie collection ... An enjoyable movie to own to see when you need a good movie fix!! Here's to continuing growing movie collections and finding larger movie shelves! Keep on watching!

This storyline was exciting and simultaneously sad. The legal depth to which governments will cross at ease does not surprise me at all. The technology that they unveiled isn't even a sample of what they use to keep us safe. LOL!!!!!

This was an excellent movie and makes you really debate about what is one life worth compared to multiple lives being saved. War makes decisions about life and death that are not easy to determine or agree upon.

War and peace collide in this suspenseful thriller which gives an insight into the consequences of neighborhood activities in a war torn nation. Even in this drama humanity shines through in the end.

If you are into military dramas, here is your new favorite. Tension and red tape. The strong leads, Mirren and the ensemble cast, are on top of their game. Flows really well and doesn't leave you bored.

Great movie showing the power of drone warfare. Also showing the harsh decisions that have to be made in the fight against terrorism and the always ongoing potential damage to innocent bystanders.

I recommend this movie, I am a big fan of Helen Mirren, this movie made you think of the ethical conflicts and if you could handle the conflict the pilots did in this situation or not. Great show.

This movie presents a moral dilemma that could be taken from almost any daily news feed. What do you do when you can eliminate someone remotely, but will have collateral damage repercussions?

As always, I can count on Best Buy to have the movie I want to buy. Had to have Alan Rickman's last staring roll before he passed. The movie was intense and worthy performances by all.
