These are changing the game in communication. Although a little confusing to program, once you do, it provides an excellent experience. Got these for Mother’s Day for my childrens’ grandmothers. They love it! And we have persuaded other family members and friend to purchase one. Only suggestion, if you are like me, create a totally different Messenger account for this.

I have an 18 month old and filter one of these to both sets of his grandparents. They all enjoy the simple ability to call in to see their grandchild, and he understands that he can touch the screen to get someone to talk to him. The motion/wide angle tracking works well, and you can even choose a person for the camera to keep in focus. This had eliminated any need of a home phone for me. I wish there was compatibility with more video messaging services.

I got this as a gift for Mother's Day. So far, I don't care much for it. I don't like the fact that you can only call people within facebook. I know its called facebook portal, but it should be able to call any of your contacts. It really doesn't do much more than that. It claims to have apps that you can download, but that's a joke. I'm thinking about returning it.

I was not sure about a facebook product but my family got me this for Christmas. It uses Alexa so that is a plus and the video calls are clear and no lag. We have already bought 2 more for other family members and plan on buying more. You can group 6 people talking at once. We have family all over the country so this makes it fun to get everyone together, at least virtually.

We bought this to video chat with our grandchild in another state. It works beautifully. At three, she can call us by saying, "Alexa, call grandma". The picture quality is excellent with a camera that follows you when you move. Sound is clear. Both parties don't have to have a portal, but it's nice. It can call a phone or tablet, but not a laptop. Must use FB Messenger.

I received this as a Christmas gift from my husband. I was apprehensive at first but the more I played around with it, I liked it. I've made a couple of video phone calls which was neat. I'm sure there are more ways to utilize this product but I haven't had time to sit and work with it. It takes some getting used to to always say "Hey, Portal...." then give a command. There just wasn't enough instructions included. All in all it's a neat new electronic device.

Both this one after purchasing one for my mom and dad who live far away. Easy to use. A little to easy to use as my four year son loves making calls on it. Only issue is that it is not always obvious when it is completely turned off but with the ability to turn off the camera and mic as well as place the blocker over the camera I'm not too concerned with privacy. Still learning all of the features but the advertised features are great so far.

We bought this for our father in-law and I was skeptical about whether he would use it. He doesn’t care much for learning modern technology nor Facebook but he loves this. We were able to set it up quickly and show him how simple it is to use. He called us the very next day and our daughter as well. It’s so nice to be able to “see” him even when we are far away.

I love being able to Portal my niece and nephew! During this quarantine, it has been fantastic. We can just hang out with each other while I am cooking dinner, and I can talk to them as they play. They love playing the games on there with me and even ask their mom for special Portal time with their aunt. Fantastic purchase!

This is the best thing since sliced bread. My father hadn’t seen this brother in 12 years. It’s like being there in person. Sometimes they talk for hours. My dad got this large one and I sent his brother and granddaughter the smaller versions. Now he can talk to his brother, granddaughter, great grandchildren.

Works really good for video calling. Alexa feature is very helpful.

I bought this to be able to spend time with my grandkids who are out of state. I can see them every day now! This was more than worth the price I paid! It has a great picture and great sound. I'm having a little triouble figuring out how to use it as an electronic picture frame though. It was super easy to set up for an electronically person.

I purchased this for friend that has majority of family in Michigan and they just talk on the phone. Purchased 3 now for her and her family. My friend was so excited that when she talks to her daughter and grandkids. They are to see each other and will be able to participate with her granddaughters birthday party on Sunday. Awesome way to communicate

I bought a Facebook Portal when they came out this year. My son lives in a different country and we would do the facetime via FaceBook, but I liked the idea that the camera would follow me around and has a better camera than my laptop. I liked it so well that when it went on sale I bought 2 more. I gave one to my son so he could have the same convenience and I could see his entire family. We had our first true Facebook Portal experience this past weekend and it was great! He could get up and take care of his babies and I when another member of the family entered the room they were automatically included in the screen. The FB Portal also has Amazon Echo built in. The only thing the FB Portal didn't do was to allow me to view my Ring camera's, so I had both an Echo Show and the FB Portal in the living room. After my last conversation with my son I didn't turn the Portal off. I gave the command to show the patio so I could watch the dogs in the back yard, With the last Portal update, it will now show my Ring cameras. The ability to show my cameras well as all the other functions, is what prompted me to post this review and give it 5 stars.

Much more than expected. Make video calls, the camera automatically follows you and zooms in and out, hands free. Video and audio quality is superb. Also connects to Alexa for added benefit. Has a privacy function for when not in use. Can make calls to anyone with video calling capabilities. They do not need to have a portal on the other end.

Video quality is very good and is simple to learn to use.

At the new reduced price I think this is an OK deal - it's kind of a jack of all trades, master of none. Video conferencing to another Portal is good - similar to Facetime but slightly more convenient since you don't need to hold a device. As a picture frame, it's good if you've got a lot of photos on Facebook. As an Echo device it's OK, but not as good as an Echo Show since it's restricted in what it can show.

We purchased four of these for Christmas. One for ourselves and one for each of our three kids. We live in three different states and then we can stay connected. I don’t seem so far away when I can see them on the screen. They can go about what they’re doing and I don’t get the blank “pause“ screen while on face time on their phones!
