Absolutely love these portals. My daughter got us one a year ago because we have five grandchildren so this year we bought all of them one. It is so nice because you don’t have to hold it and the grand babies run all over showing us stuff and it just follows them we spend hours on this you can read them stories and the books put you in the pictures. It has funny faces and games it is the next best thing to being there. Thank You Facebook Portal.

We bought the Facebook Portal for our family and then gave one to our 80 year old mother to stay in touch. Our daughter was able to direct her grandmother in the set up process over the phone. You do need a Facebook account to use. Our mother was able to get this set up and we have used it frequently. It is very user friendly and the picture quality is excellent. I highly recommend this product!

We got this for my wife's grandmother as a mother's day gift. She absolutely loves it and if an 85 year old can use it without any issues then anyone can. Making calls and staying in touch has been super easy with this and getting to see face to face has been great during this trying times. The features are nice and there are little to no hearing problems from her end to ours. Its worth it to video call hands free.

What a “Life Changing” piece of technology! We bought this for my 81 year old Mother-in-Law who is going deaf, and a 10 year stroke survivor. This is a VERY “user friendly” piece of technology...even for some who could be “intimidated” by it at times. She has been EXTREMELY happy with it, and is loud enough that she can have a complete conversation, with no issues hearing the other party.

If you have family and friends who have portals or use Facebook Messenger with Video, then this is a must-have. I meet up with my nieces, brother, and sister all the time with it. I can read stories to my nieces (and vice versa) and the funny games and filters give us tons of fun! The other apps aren't super useful, but it's great for keeping in touch.

When priced under $100, probably the best stand-alone video conference device you can get. The camera and microphone functionality is as good as it gets. It's easy to hear people, and the camera tracking is really good. The simplicity of the software is great and most people can learn to use it quickly. However, Zoom needs to support more than one way to position the device.

i love the Facebook Portal, all you need is the Portal and a WiFi connection. you dont have to even know phone numbers, if they are friends on Facebook thats all you need to contact them. All your friends on FB show up as you Portal contacts. When you are cone chatting with friends and family you can suf YouTube, listen to the news, play games like Battleship or Sudoku or many others. All your photos on FB that you are sharing with Friends load here too as a screensaver slideshow. After that....omg!!... iHeart Radio, thousands of radio stations, i love all the Classic rock stations, and if you dont fins the station you want to listen to just ask it to find you the artist you want to hear. Billy Joel, Phil Collins, Elton John, The Beatles, Jimmy Buffet, anybody at all. this thing is a blast!! And it is Bluetooth ready, got my new headphones linked to it so i rock without bothering others. All this and much more on this one little thing packed with technology. i love it! Got to go in the hospital later this month, going to take it with me, already checked, free WiFi !! :-)))

I was looking for a digital frame for my mom and found this instead. It does much more than displaying your photos. I love that I can connect Alexa and play music. Speaker is decent. Video calling is pretty good. It autozooms and follows you around the room if you’re moving from one place to another. Overall, it’s a good buy!

I considered this among the echo show and Googles equivalent 8" display. Our family has 5 echos in our home and love using alexa which is why this appealed to us as well. The only limitation is that you can't "drop in" on this device. I just wanted an EASY to use video caller for my parents to use to call my kids. I got 1 for each home and love it! The Portal is user friendly, especially for the old and the young. Almost everyone we would chat with has facebook or/and messenger already so the Portal was an easy choice. We have tons of pic already on facebook so the digital frame it turns into when not in use automatically rotates them. Unless you use Amazon for photo storage and everyone you want to talk to has a show also OR you only use google products, the Portal is a winner. My little ones love the other features as well.

It does what we want it to, and it does it well. My kids can easily visit with their grandparents which allows them to see each other more often than normal. The technology behind the camera is pretty cool which makes it feel like your in the room with the person to whom you are talking. It does more than video chat, but we never use any of those features. This is our only Alexa device, so she doesn't get much attention. So for us, it's basically a glorified video phone with the ability to stream music or use as a smart hub for your smart home devices. If you have other Alexa devices, it may prove more beneficial to you. Overall, it serves its purpose in our household. I would recommend this to individuals you know who use Alexa devices in their home, or have family or friends that do not have a smartphone to use Facebook Messenger. The Portal makes using Facebook Messenger a breeze. It's a little convoluted adding multiple participants, but for one-to-one calls, it's amazing!

I bought Portal for my Dad Donald and mom, he is very happy with the easy way to communicate and see the family Love all he can do with Portal, you can see your favorites pictures when don't used and listen music, is a excellent thing for seniors I love it

It was pretty easy for my wife to set up. She forgot her Facebook password and had to do a re-set but after that pretty straightforward. This is our first video calling device other than her facetime iPhone. It really is a cool device to connect with our kids and grandchildren if you know they are home for a call. The smart camera is great zooming in and panning the room. Hands free is also great. I only gave it four stars because we have had a couple of dropped calls and sometimes there seems to be a delay in conversation coming thru. I don't know if that's because of the Facebook platform or my crappy internet provider. Despite that we are loving it to communicate with our kids. Great value at $65 per unit. Bought four to cover all our households.

Debated between this and Alexa Show, but this won due to it's ease of use with FB Messenger. My mom takes it everywhere with her. The only drawback is it has to be plugged into power to work. Maybe they'll address that in the future.

Very easy setup. Image quality and sound quality are excellent. Easy to connect to other FB users and broadcast live. Issues: 1. Limited on available apps. 2. You can't turn it off. 3. Need to connect to FB every time.

I can't give this a perfect rating, is it is glitchy at time but it does a great job of what it's meant to do. I would recommend it to anyone that's looking for a larger screen to do video calls via Facebook Messenger.

This seems to be a great product. Like the fact that you can shut the camera and microphone off and still use it for music. I can play my Sirius XM on it. Has great picture and is easy to use.

Love this device. When you make a call the camera will follow you around the room. Good sound quality for streaming music. This device I like better than the other brands that I own.

Shipped Grandma a portal so we can have dinner every night her. Excellent sound and video quality. Also we have been wanting a digital picture frame which the Portal does a great job.
