One hundred hours logged and one or two trophies away from getting my first Platinum Trophy. Yeah, it's undeniably good. At times, I felt chilled at how relevant story elements were. Sure, Far Cry 5 isn't going to win any Nobel Peace or Pulitzers, but it's absolutely eerily familiar—especially since I grew up in a rural county reminiscent of Hope's borders. My homeplace even had the ominous high barbwired fence that blocked out curious residents from a cult compound. True story. Far Cry 5 does have its share of 'Elder Scrolls-esque' glitches and mission frustrations. Still, it's nothing that will deter most gamers from chugging through. Game of the Year? No. Runner-up? Absolutely.

Game has a beautiful extensive open world map that is breathtaking to navigate. Filled with randon characters and intriguing interactions making world feel lifelike. With fun gameplay and interesting story to match

I really great graphics. Recommended* if you liked FC3 or FC4, or if you like beautiful-looking open world FPS titles with a strong story.

Gun play is great. Scenery is beautiful. Controls are smooth. Boss characters are evil and get into your head. The end game, though... that's what makes it lose a star. I understand what the end game is supposed to be for Far Cry games, but...

buy this game. it is fun and twisted. everyone making it out to be "controversial" is ridiculous, especially if you play the whole game. great action, story, ending, side quests, great game.

Multiplayer is very meh but the campaign and inviting friends over to the open world game is a blast. This is such an improvement over the last 2 Far Cry's imo. So much fun and tons of explosions

Honestly this game was really fun and enjoyable. I enjoyed my time playing with it, and getting to learn more about the villains of this far cry, but to be fair that ending was just horrid. I can see how this ending can ruin it for some people.

Fans of the series went be disappointed. Open world shooting game set in modern America. Looks great on ps4 pro and a ton of fun. Arcade mode gives you plenty to do once you beat the game too.

I love this game. Lots to do and figure out but a little on the difficult side as I am not an avid player but a novice player. But I got this game on sale for $30 so it was an awesome find.

This game is Spiderman with guns and wow is this as fun and good as it sounds. Plenty of weapons and you can blow up everything.

It's a fun game to play with a friend, a lot of things to do and the graphics are great in my opinion. Ubisoft does it again.

I’ve never played any Far Cry game before and this one blew me away. The graphics are beautiful and the story is so in depth. This game will make you question all reality. This is a must buy.

Far cry 4 was amazing, and this game surely is around that point of competition to FC4. To many glitches in the game, if your not bothered by them then it’ll be a good game for you.

Great addition to the Far Cry series. The game looks amazing with tons of action, gets a little repetitive after a while. The story is a little lacking but not bad. If you like past Far Cry games you will like this one.

This game looks incredible, and the characters are entertaining to interact with, though the ending leaves you slightly under-whelmed. There are subtle clues to the end scattered throughout the game, but they are easy to overlook with the frantic pace of encounters, both enemy and wildlife. There are no towers to climb to reveal the map, as with prior installments of this series, however you must traverse the map to reveal the secrets. Flying over the map removes the "fog", and marks locations, but doesn't fill in the details unless you travel on the ground/water. Exploration becomes much easier after you liberate an area, though full exploration is only truly easy at the end of the game, at which point you may have lost interest. Watch out for badgers, they're deadly.

I have enjoyed all Far Cry games since the first on PC, and this game is worthy of the name. Intriguing story and characters, great open-world gameplay, really keeps you going.

Very solid game. You start right in the middle of a great story and it's intense from the get go. I found there to be somewhat of a learning curve but I've enjoyed every minute of it.

Far Cry 5 takes the series' formula and gives it a new playground, full of fun new gadgets and locales. If you like Open-World titles, you can never go wrong with Far Cry.

Very poor characterization. Voice over was horrible.. NO MIMIMAP??...Really hate having to hit the map key majority of the time to figure out where I need to go because of the stupid directional hub Ubisoft put in the game.. The story line wasn't great at all. Gameplay was ridiculously hard on EASY mode. Running out of ammo was always my worse peeve when it comes to these games and this is one of the worst games to run out of ammo; a lot. Reloading was horribly slow.. Enemy could hit you easily at a great distance when hip firing; really Ubisoft? Enemy spawns right on top of you often when enemy calls in for backup, even if you kill the guy with the radio before he calls for backup. The AI is horrible!!The NPCs running around and the NPCs you hire, specially Boomer. They always get in the way and get down quite often. At times I just let them die and play myself. Timing missions were the worse. You get so overwhelmed with enemy or the time runs out. One mission I was stuck on and had to google how to abandon mission. It would loop and I could not get out of it. Why in the world would anyone put timed missions in a game is beyond me. Vehicles controls were par, but still sucked trying to drive on the most crooked, winding roads in America. You could only fire a pistol when driving while getting shot at by a enemy with a machine gun mounted on top of a enemy vehicle. Plane/Helicopter controls are still the worse when it comes to Ubisoft games. Really don't know how they haven't figured out how to fix this yet since the backlash they got from Wildlands. Fishing in the game is horrible. I took me literally 5 minutes to catch a trout because of the way you have to reel and move the mouse in opposite direction of fish travel. Half the time the parachute doesn't work. I land and get critically injured or die. Overpriced items in the store. Always run out of money because you have to keep buying ammo, grenades and med packs. I had more fun with Far Cry 3 and 4.

For better or for worse this is exactly what you'd expect. A great sandbox game full of glitches and vibrant characters. Great stateside setting with a fun engaging cult story.
