Doesn't really work as i thought. But it still makes a descent fire pit.

Great sale item at Best Buy! Tired of being bothered by smoke following you around from your outdoor fireplace? Does a great job of allowing you to relax and enjoy the fire but not be bothered by smoke. Highly portable including case.

Well built and sturdy. I'm glad the included a carrying case. I made fun of it because I planned on it staying in the yard but immediately someone forced me to take it to the beach so jokes on me, it came in handy.

Everyone loves a good campfire. The warmth, the crackle of the wood, roasting marshmallows and the joy of watching the fire light up the night. The problem with campfires is the smoke blowing in your face no matter where you sit, the smell in your hair and on your clothes. Even worse is when you still smell it the next day. The Farenheit fire pit is a smokeless design. I won't pretend to understand exactly how it works, but as the fire heats up it sucks more air through the holes in the bottom and causes the fire to burn faster. The result is a a fire that burns really well without the extra smoke. My wife and I sat around the fire for a couple hours and usually that would be enough to walk away with a coating of smoke. Neither of us had to move our chairs to get away from the smoke. We went inside and didn't immediately notice any smoke smell. The true test came the next day when I held my shirt up to my nose and it didn't reek of smoke. One of the things I'd often wondered is if it would be safe to use on my cedar deck. I know it's recommended not to, but is it because of sparks? Since the pit itself is up off the ground, maybe it wouldn't get so hot and could be used on the deck with precautions taken to deal with cinders. I grabbed my Bluetooth thermometer from my smoker and needed to find out. I placed the sensor on the ground under the fire pit as close to center as I could. Temps got a lot hotter than I expected, at one point reaching 400* F. This was with a mixture of wood, mostly oak and cedar. I'd expect something like hickory would get even hotter. If you're considering using this on your deck, DON'T.

Fantastic fire pit. Use wood or pellets and can’t go wrong.

Having a portable, easily movable fire pit is great for setting up a space for small gathering or a larger group. In just a few minutes I was able to unpack the fire place and have it set up. Setup is easy and as simple as placing the larger bowl on the smaller support. Both have plenty of vents which allows ample air flow. Once set into position, remove the carrying handle which is spring loaded and just comes out and your ready to start a fire. My fire starting skills aren’t pro but once I was able to get one rolling we really enjoyed ourselves. I kept our fires small because of our neighborhood but I think the deep barrel helps direct the smoker up and away from everyone. I sat about 2-3 foot away from the pit and could feel the heat without getting smoke blown in my eyes. Keep in mind the wind was calm so didn’t have to worry about changing winds Simplicity and ease of use kept on coming with cleanup. We allowed the fire to burn out and completely cool down before dumping the ash in a bucket. I sprayed out the bucket a bit just to be sure nothing remained and disposed of the rest of the ash in our trash bin. Some may skip the bucket step but I wanted to take the extra precaution. To pack up, remove the top, place the bottom inside of the top, insert the carrying handle and place it back into the carrying bag. Now your ready to take it to a friends place or store it for the next weekend. If I was going to nitpick and give one small suggestion, I did have some kindling fall through the bottom when trying to start the fire. Maybe a larger area without vent holes would help.

Either for camping, or for your own backyard, sometimes you might wish to have wood-burning firepit where one doesn't exist, but can't, or don't want something permanent. Or maybe you do want something semi-permanent... either way this will work great. What's great about this as a firepit it's it's designed with ample airflow all around, so it's much easier to get a fire started and to keep it going, without having to fuss as much to keep everything burning and getting enough air. Once it was started, smoke was not a problem, and it put out plenty of heat, and was really great to sit around on a cool autumn evening. And it's super easy to setup, I had it setup and starting putting wood in under a minute. It is all stainless steel, so you'll have to wait for it to fully cool before you can pack it up and clean it, but the smaller base will slide into the larger drum (where the wood normally goes), and it comes with a handy carry back you can put it all in. It does look like it could get top-heavy if you overload it, but I never had a problem and I think it generally has enough weight to keep it firmly placed. Only thing this is missing is some sort of grill for the top in case you felt like tossing some food on it.
