The autofocus is terrible but am I upset I bought it no…for the price it’s about what you expect. You can get good images out of it. It’s just the autofocus is horrible it hunts all the time. If you can put up with that you’ll be fine.

This lens help me to appreciate the technical work that went to building the camera and lens. I don’t know why the manufacture doesn’t offer a better kit lens to go with the camera . They will sale more. That why I don’t buy the camera with the kit lens . I love this lens . I love the Modesto store there Camera department is above average the time ,effort and patience. Amazing Quality Lens!! Very Pleased

I wanted the GM version of this lens but I decided to go with something more affordable, definitely got my money's worth. If you have the extra cash to go for the GM, I imagine the quality can only get better and the quality of this lens is really good.

Great for portraits

Definitely recommend. Can shoot almost directly into the sun with minimal glare/haze. Perfect for backlit shots. if you’re coming from older lenses you’ll be amazed by some of the shots you can get.

Met my expectations

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I tried using my alpha mount 85mm 1.4 lens with an alpha to e mount converter on my Sony a7riii, but did not like the loss of functionality. I wasn’t willing to spend the additional $1000 for an e mount 85mm 1.4 and am so glad I chose to save the money and purchased the 85mm 1.8 instead. This lens shoots beautiful images with soft creamy bokeh. Great Portrait lens.
