I can’t help but obsess over this lens. It takes such sharp images and the detail is beautiful along with my Sony A7R iii. It did take me awhile to get used to using manual but even the automatic focus is excellent. I prefer manual focus though so I can choose where to focus. I’m in love with this lens. I hope the next future lens I add to my collection is a great as this one. Definitely will recommend to anyone purchasing it.

An incredibly sharp and compact 85mm lens for portraits and light telephoto duty. Tack sharp with spectacular color and contrast. With recent Sony full-frame cameras and their high ISO capabilities, you won't miss the 2/3 stop from the 1.4 and you'll definitely appreciate that it takes up considerably less room in your bag and weighs half as much as it's more expensive counterpart.

Soooo freaking sharp!! I am truly impressed with how Sony managed to make a G quality (perhaps even G Master) lens for the price of a regular Sony FE lens. It is a no brainer for portrait photography, the bokeh with this lens is SO GOOD. And recently been doing some automotive photography and I have gotten some incredible results. Paired up with a good ND filter for sunny days, it is a killer lens! Sony did a terrific job!

LOVE THIS LENS! I have a few G-Master series lens and didn't wanna fork out the huge bucks for this lens and boy was I surprised at the results! I use with an A7riii and its a perfect fit for my portraiture work! I am only used it once, but I know its gonna be a work horse for me! Unless you are ultra picky over the top selective and feel better about spending the extra cash...this lens will be awesome!

I love this lens! Coming from the kit lens to the Sony a7iii, this is a huge upgrade. The bokeh delivers creamy effects that almost takes out the entire background and provides a nice narrow depth of view so you can direct your Audience to the main focus of the exposure. I love the AF/MF option. It’s not heavy and the quality seems to be worth the price.

This is probably one of the best lens you can purchase for this price. It is super sharp when you are in focus and the brokeh background blur at 1.8 is amazing at this price point. Performs like a GM lens. My next purchase is going to be the 24mm F1.4 GM Sony lens. I am currently using a Sony A7iii. I would highly recommend this lens !

This lens is so good for price. I use this lens with my a7 and a6300. With a6300 focus is fast using eye AF and assign focus lock button on the lens. But on my a7 just work as focus lock only. I think this lens produce good enough: sharp, nice bokeh, good color rendition, I haven't see CA, silent focus, fast focus. It takes good photos especially with a7 but not like my 135mm f2.

this is my go-to for all my photos when possible. its very sharp and the bokeh is great! had not too much weight to it. From my research this is one of sony's best lenses outside of the GM series. so I couldn't beat the price. much bang for the buck.

This lens is just amazing. After watching countless reviews and comparison videos online, I was convinced to give this lens a try and I could not be happier with the results. This lens is tack sharp and for $600 it is easily the best value you can get for a lens. The auto focus is amazingly fast. There is not enough good I can say about the lens.

This may be my favorite lens so far for my Sony. The depth of field and the image quality that I get from this lens is breathtaking. Granted you have to get your own zoom (i.e. step) to get where you want to be, but focus on things you want, and set it correctly and you will get beautiful pictures. I have pulled this out so many times since purchasing it and have never regretted this purchase.

Excellent lens for the price! Produces clean, crisp images and is small for an 85mm 1.8. Must have for not only budget minded Photographers, but pros as well.

It's a nicely built lens that is also lightweight and compact. It has excellent autofocus speed with good accuracy and quiet performance. The image from this lens is very sharp.

If you are just starting out this is the one to get! For portraits and for some B-Roll! It works for many things including street photography! You can’t go wrong! Sharp and Fast!

It's a great lens. It's 90% of the time attached to my camera. Great for photos and videos. You can travel with it anywhere because of its small size and lightweight.

This lens is serious. The autofocus is faster than anything ive seen in a long time, and the motor is completely silent. Pictures are crystal clear and everything is well built and feels like solid metal. The lens also has a af/mf toggle, and a button that i have not explored in depth yet, but so far this has not disappointed.
