Amazing lens for bokeh

The lens has such amazing bokeh, which makes the subject of the portrait stand out and look much more impressive than it would without the creamy or sometimes even sparky effects of the bokeh. I have never had a lens that did this before, and when you couple it with a Sony A7 camera, the lens is fast and detailed. I think it is just as good as the Zeiss lens I have. Even on automatic, the bokeh and details it provides makes it look like I have much greater knowledge of how to create images that have a memorable, different quality to them than I really do. Also, even though I assumed this lens would be best for portraits, it is also great for wildlife, as it did pretty well keeping up with marine life and leaving dolphins, despite the processing time.

After multiple reviews and comparisons I went with this lens versus the G-Master (I own the 135mm GM and the 100-400MM GM) I went with this lens at a third of the price and couldn't be happier.

Great portrait lens for the price

Really sharp images and good bokeh. I'm sure a 1.4 85mm GM is better but not worth nearly 3 times the price of this one. On a crop sensor this gives you a 127.5mm field of view.

I also have Sony 50mm with same focal but and this is a welcome upgrade.. super sharp lens. If you are a bokeh fan, you wont be disappointed and portraits look very professional.

Not worth upgrading to the 1.4 for three times the price in my opinion. 1.8 is plenty fast enough for most low light settings. Way better than the cannon 1.8 85mm

Ok, I wasn't going to buy it, but the guy talked me into it, and I'm really glad because I didn't realize how crisp and detailed this thing could be. Like not to be TMI, but you can see the blackheads on my nose. Takes good starry photos.

The best 85mm for money for Sony e-mount
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have tried the gmaster 85 1.4, owned the Viltrox 85 1.8, and the samyang 85 1.4 and this lens is by far the best 85mm for money for the Sony e-mount full frame. The samyang comes with a 1.4, and the Viltrox has great bokeh but you will never get the same af you get with the native Sony 85mm, and af is one of the main reasons you bought a Sony alpha full frame camera. The gmaster is more than twice the price as this lens, and just like everyone says on YouTube the gmaster is not as sharp and you'll find yourself stopping down to 1.8 anyways. I highly recommend this 85mm for Sony e-mount full frame.

Superb lens for decent price
