Customers are impressed with the air quality improvement and quiet operation of the 150 Sq. Ft. Smart Air Purifier. Many appreciate the ease of use, including setup and app functionality, as well as the reasonable cost of replacement filters. However, some users experienced difficulties connecting the purifier to their WiFi network. The purifier's compact size and attractive design were also frequently praised.

This purifier is so effective! I had the best sleep I’ve had in months using it. As soon as we turned it on, we could feel the air around us change to a fresh breeze. I would say that waking up with this on, is like waking up on your porch, on a fresh, cool morning. Added to that, It’s a very beautiful design, minimal, and clean. The app is user friendly and very informative - mind you, the initial Wi-Fi connectivity lag, just felt like the usual lag you may experience from most apps. We also noticed that, the app Wi-Fi connection only picked up our Wi-Fi extender which is the closest to it, so I would make sure that the Purifier is within close proximity to an extender or Wi-Fi source. That being said, it can be controlled directly from the purifier itself, so if you don’t have the app, not a problem.

This is a great air purifier for it's ability to purify the air within a medium sized room, but even better because it's a smart air purifier.
The clean white look of this air purifier looks nice and upscale, and it's fairly compact in size. Size is comparable to a small waste basket. I like to run this in my home office as I work from home and also within my bedroom settings for clean air. As an allergy sufferer I appreciate the relief I get from breathing clean air without all the allergens and pollutants that irritate me.
The touch interface on the top of the air purifier is very easy to use and informative in it's settings and display. The auto function I find is the best for my needs because it allows me to set it and let the air purifier gauge the room and figure out what fan speed is ideal. The Filtrete app works very well on my iPhone XR with iOS 14. The app gives me important information such as fan speeds, filter remaining life, and the particles it's catching in micrometers.
Overall it looks good, but it has proven to be very helpful for my household and family since we suffer from allergies. Breathing well is important to me and this has been a relief for seasonal allergies. It's a quiet operating machine when on auto / low settings and provides a nice calming ambient hum / noise in the background.

I grabbed this Filtrete purifier due to some issues we have been having in our bedroom. Lately my wife, my son who sleeps with us and even myself would always be coughing and congested in our room, with my wife dealing with the worst of it going through terrible coughing fits. Our cat has been spending more time in our bed and I think its caused a little bit of an issue for us . Our bedroom has always had a dry not clean air quality too it for some reason, even after we replaced carpets.
This purifier in just a week of use has proven itself to be worth it. We haven't coughed at all or dealt with allergy congestion since plugging it in. My wife who like I said, had the biggest issue lately, has not gone through any coughing fits since. The air in our room just feels cleaner, with a crisper air smell to it and easier to breathe in. My son has also not been woken up by any coughing fits either. The coughing wasn't illness related either as this has been an issue in our room for years but it only recently got worse because of our cat making his way on the bed more.
I've been really impressed with it, the design of it is clean and the Filtrete smart app is simple to monitor and use as well. I like that it shows the air quality not only in your household but in the area you live as well. This also had to be probably the easiest plug and play type of products I've ever bought. Setting it up was less than 5 minutes and was absolutely smooth.
The fan isn't too loud either and is a pleasant white noise actually. I think this is a great purchase for bedrooms, isn't intrusive or in the way and has a great overall design that doesn't make it an eyesore to look at .
Remote pictures along side it for size scale.

Nice Looking Compact Air Purifier

The Filtrete Smart Air Purifier is a really nice little product that will keep your medium sized room having good air to breath.
It has a relatively small size compared to other brands, which is nice. It also has a good looking form factor that will blend with most decors.
It has four fan speeds which you can manually choose or just leave it on auto and it will change the fan speed according to your air quality. It will kick up the fan speed if you're cooking smelly food or have a lot of dust. It has a pleasant sound when it runs. Even at full fan speed, it's still quieter than a box fan.
Some of the things this air filter will clean from the air are viruses, bacteria, mold spores, pet dander, dust mites and smoke.
Controlling this filter is very versatile. You can control the filter using the buttons on the top of the machine, using the Filtrete app, or through Google Assistant or Alexa. The app will tell you how much life your filter has left, the indoor air quality, andoutdoor air quality among other things.
I love this product so far and would recommend it to anyone who is concerned about the air quality in their home.

This compact Filtrete purifier offers convenient smart features to monitor your air quality with or without connecting it to your home network. The design is slightly utilitarian but clean and modern. The top of the unit features touch controls and displays useful data such as real time air quality, fan speed, and filter life. Though it may missing UV or electrostatic features of other brands, the tried and true HEPA filter is large for the size of the unit and is easily accessible through the removable front panel. The filter life could be better as it is rated for 6 months at 12 hours a day usage and leaving it on 24/7 would presumably “require” replacement in 3 months. The fan itself is fairly quiet on speeds up to medium while perceivably moving a decent volume of air. Though setting the fan to high does have considerable noise, I actually find it more tolerable than another brand’s purifier of the same size. I tend to leave it on Auto as it does a remarkable job of detecting pollutants and particles in real time, adjusting the fan speed as needed. If you are interested in a purifier for a small to medium sized room, this one is well designed, quiet, and controllable from your phone if you so choose.

The Filtrate Smart Air Purifier is medium sized (about 18 inches tall) and is designed for a 150 sq foot room. It has a large filter which will remove 99.97% of all airborne particles including dust, allergens, bacteria and viruses.
It is a step up from some other air purifiers I’ve tested. While all brands seemed to function as expected, most only have a good/bad air quality indicator - often a light that changes colors based on air quality.
The Filtrate Air Purifier does have a light with 5 color ranges, but also has an easy to read numerical index. If the number is 49, for instance, the light will be green, but it is only one number away from yellow. In the app there is a reading of the actual number of P1, P2.5 and P10 particulates in the air.
There are several fan settings, with AUTO being the preferred. On Auto the system will increase in speed if poor air quality is detected. Usually AUTO is level 1. I found the fan to be fairly noisy, even on level 1. I can hear the “humm” 3 rooms away from it. Other air purifiers I’ve tested were quieter.
The display and app both show the filter life, which was something that can be missing on other brands. It’s nice to know if the filter is at <50% life vs. good/bad.
There is a timer on both the control panel and in the app. On the control panel the options are 2,4,8,12 and 24 hours. In the app the timer can be set for individual hours and minutes.
I did have some issues installing the app. First was the 25 page user agreement, which seemed a little excessive for an air purifier. Maybe 3M is counting on everyone agreeing without reading. I have to confess that is what I did. Once everything was set up, the final step was to “Allow Notifications”. My choices were either “Allow” or “Not Now”. Both choices were unresponsive and I had to turn the phone off and on to continue.
With the app I was able to 1) turn the air purifier on and off at a distance, 2) adjust the brightness of the control panel lighting, 3) adjust fan speed, 4) set the timer precisely, 5) see the filter life and presumably order new filters and 6) see the exact number of pollutants. I don’t know exactly what the range from the unit is, but I was able to control it from the back yard using the app.
The additional information in the app vs the control panel was valuable and made the app worthwhile. My air quality appears to be good so I was unable to test how well the air purifier purifies the air, but I don’t have any reason to think it would not perform well in a home with poor air quality.

The Filtrete - 150 Sq. Ft. Smart Air Purifier for medium rooms received was easy to set up. You are able to enable your wifi on your smartphone to connect to the purifier. Simply download the app and pair the purifier and you are good to go. You are able to control the fan of the air purifier and read the quality of the air from any room. Increasing the circulation of the fan can be done simply by pressing the button within the app and selecting one of the 4 levels that meet your preference. After placing the purifier in the room of our house that tends to be most stuffy and humid, the difference in air quality was noticed within 30 to 60 minutes. After running the purifier for about 5 days, I did notice that the Filtertrate Filter went from 100 percent to 94 percent. This could possibly be because of the area we reside in. We have a lot of smog in California. Appears very easy to clean, when the time will come.
PROS:
Ability to control fan and purifier from any room.

Eliminates the smell of cigarette smoke coming from outdoors.
CONS: None at this present time.

The Filtrete air purifier stands at 17 inches high 9.5 inches deep, and 12 inches across. It is designed for rooms that are about 150 sq ft. It uses an F2 Filtrete filter size. To change the filter, you have to remove the front panel of the purifier by squeezing the latch on both sides of the purifier.
On the top of the air purifier is the control panel. As you can see from the picture, it has a power on/off icon and a fan speed setting (in the picture it’s set on max). On the low setting it has a low hum while the max setting has a noticeable loudness. If you set the speed to auto, it control the speed based on the air quality (bad=higher fan speed).
The control panel also has a timer (the increments are: 2, 4, 8, 12, and 24 hrs), a filter indicator telling you how useful the filter life remaining, and the light button which is a dimmer (it turns the backlit control panel light from off to dim to bright).
At the bottom of the control panel is the air quality display that tells you how good or bad the air quality is in the room. You will notice on the top front of the purifier there is a colored light. This light tells you the quality of the air. A green light means the air quality is 0-50 which is good. An orange light means the air quality is fair (51-100). A red light means poor (101-150), dark red means very poor (151-200), and maroon is severe (201-500).
The control panel is very sensitive to touch so you don’t need to press the icons hard. If you go to your App Store, you can download the Filtrete Smart app. Using this app, you can control the purifier from the app. I was not able to connect the air purifier to my WiFi despite several attempts. Although this does not render the purifier useless, it does make like any other purifier that is not WiFi enabled. It is supposed to send you phone alerts when the air quality is bad, but since I wasn’t able to connect to the purifier, I was not able to test it.
This purifier does have a true hepa filter so it will clean the air better than most residential air purifiers. That alone is a good reason to purchase this purifier. It captures dust and lint particles dust mite debris, mold spores and pollen, pet dander, smoke and smog, bacteria, viruses, PM 2.5 and exhaust particles, and ultra fine particles. To test out its effectiveness, I lit a piece of paper and let it burn to create smoke. The purifier detected the smoke and the air quality indicator went to around 50-52. It stayed at that level for about 20 seconds before it gradually cleaned the air and brought it back down to 0. I could smell less smoke as the purifier cleaned the air.
My opinion: I’m rating the purifier 2 stars just because they are advertising it as a WiFi enabled unit. I was not able to connect to my WiFi despite several attempts and app deletions. If they did not advertise the purifier as WiFi enabled, I would rate it a 5 star because it is simple to use and effective.

Set It and Forget It

I’m so glad to have this air filter. I’ve really been testing and putting this thing to work. It’s amazing at keeping up with how bad or good the quality is, and pushing notifications (you can change that setting) to us. It also connects to your virtual assistant (Google, Alexa, IFTT, Siri Shortcuts). I don’t believe it works with Apple home/Siri. That I haven’t tried as yet. We currently use it with Google assistant. Ohhh and another great thing is that you can plug this into a smart outlet and control it from there as well, schedules and so forth.
I love that the panel is touch screen. You can adjust all the settings right from the device without ever having to use the app. The light dims; high, low, off. It’s a set it and forget it machine. I placed it on auto and it does the work by itself, adjusting when needed. It’s also very easy to clean with just a damp cloth.
I placed it in our children’s room, because they need one and there is some construction taking place in there at the current moment and it has been helping to cycle through and clean and freshen up the space nicely by removing the dust or wood smells from out of the room. The kids aren’t in the space throughout the day, while I’m working but I had to open up small areas in the wall to add two new outlets, and boy the dust in there was absurd. Once I was done, we turned back on the electricity to the room and this thing kicked right into high gear.
Once in the app, you can see all the data pertaining to the room quality and the device and how it’s working to rid the room of bad air. I also love how it tells you the quality of the outside air in your city/area. That’s smart. Filtrete does a great job at breaking down all of the terms, when it comes to the particles it’s finding and eliminating and how it measures dust particles vs how the outside air quality is measured and so on. They supply helpful tips. It’s a very intuitive app with lots of control and extras. You can even order filter replacements on the app.
It loses a star for the mere fact that the replacement filters are pricey just for one. I’m not looking forward to the time of replacement. My goodness. It seems that it would be pretty easy to change the filter, by removing the face plate on the front side and pulling out the used filter and replacing with the new one. No screws or extra effort needed. It’s cut and dry. As you can see from the pics in a week and some days our filter is already at 85%. I’m sure it’s mainly because of the small construction mess that’s happening in there during the day, but before we started the project it was declining pretty steadily. We use diffusers throughout our home, in each room and any time we turned them on the filter would kick into high gear until the diffuser was finished with its cycle. Good thing it wasn’t removing the pleasant aromas that we love to fill our home with.
All in all, this is such a wonderful and smart edition to our home and I’m happy that the children finally have a quality air filter system that we can actively monitor at any time. It’s been wonderful to know that your kids are breathing in better air even while they sleep. We will definitely purchase a couple more for other rooms, so that we can enjoy fresh filtered air everywhere.

Great Smart Air Purifier for Small/Medium Rooms.
|

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
The Filtrete Smart Air Purifier is a great addition to your home office or bedroom.
As a 3M brand, the Filtrete Air Purifier uses 3M HEPA filters, which means it has the capacity to capture 99.97% of airborne particulates.
Set up is really simple, you unpack it, plug it in and turn it on. It fires into life and is cleaning the air right away. The filter comes preinstalled, so nothing to deal with there. It uses a laser-based air quality sensor to monitor the tiny particles in the air to determine the fan speed for air cleaning quality. When poor air quality is detected, in Auto Mode it ups the fan speed to compensate and clean the air more vigorously.
The magic happens when you download the Filtrete app for iOS and Android. Once installed, you press the light button on the air purifier for 5 second and a blue 'WiFi' light will illuminate. Follow the prompts in the app, connect to your WiFi network, input the 6 digit code found just under the filter cover in the center (there are two release catches - one on each side as you slide your hand around the front of the cover). Input the code and you are ready to go. The app shows you the current air quality, the room temperature, fan speed, timer settings, brightness, filter life, and the pollutants. If you tap on the round area, you get a live graph of the air quality readings hourly, daily and monthly.
You can control the fan speed, brightness, and power on and off with the app, and the app also integrates seamlessly with Alexa (and Hey Google), so you can use your voice to control all these settings via the Filtrete Alexa Skill. I had no issues at all connecting to the air purifier with the app, and no issues with the connection for voice control either. It's a very slick and intuitive app that does predominantly what you expect it to do (more about that later). It also sends notifications to your phone when it detects poor air quality and also when the issue is resolved. It will also notify you when you need to change the filter as well. You can also set a timer, but you cannot set a schedule at this time, to recur each night for example, or only the hours you are in your home office.
You can set the fan speed to a setting 1-4 for your personal preference, or you can let the machine do it for you based on the pollutants in the air, using 'Auto Mode'. You can turn off all illumination if you are using it in a bedroom.
The information guide suggests changing the filter out every 6 months (180 days) however, in my experience of using it so far, the filter life monitor is dropping around 1% per day (with the air quality reading between 0-4) so at that rate, I would need to change at 100 days. Not the end of the world and the F2 size 3M replacement filters are less than $20 which is very reasonable for HEPA filters.
Overall I've been very impressed with the Filtrete Smart Air Purifier, it is smart, it functions well, but I do wish that it had a scheduling functionality built into the app. Surely with the timer feature, a scheduling function should be possible with an app tweak. Otherwise this is a great unit that help keep the air in your home clean and safe.

Smart Air Purifier Does the Job

This 3M Filtrete - 150 Sq. Ft. Smart Air Purifier for Medium Rooms, Model # FAP-SC02N - attractive Console has "dusted" my air of all the nasties.
It has a sensitive Air Quality Sensor and the top console display has Air Quality Indicators that tell you your room's air quality rating from Good to Severe. The unit's F2 Premium Allergen, Bacteria & Virus True HEPA (high-efficiency particulate air) filter removes 99.97% of your air's particles automatically, when you set the fan to Auto. You can easily set it up with Bluetooth to connect to the Filtrete app your phone and to your WiFi (supports up to 802.11ac and ax), so you can keep track of your air quality, HEPA filter performance and filter life from a distance and control your unit as necessary.
I found the setup to be extremely easy, with one caveat. The app setup instructions say to open the front door of the unit and use the code at the top, above the filter (see pic), but then says to try 1,2,3,4 or 9,9,9,9. I tried both before I figured out to use the numbers of the code after the two alpha digits and dash in front. That code is nothing like the suggestions. Anyway, that was the hardest part. Everything was a clean, cool breeze after that hiccup.
Because I have my laundry room upstairs and my dryer exhaust setup needs a good cleaning and securing, my house is really dusty. This purifier has taken my high sensor air quality readings down to 0 in a relatively quiet way.
I would suggest this 3M Filtrete - 150 Sq. Ft. Smart Air Purifier for Medium Rooms to anyone searching for an effective air particulate purifier.

I owe several filtrete filters and have been happy with the results. A modest priced filter lasts 3 months, so about $5 a month. I decided to give this a go because it was on sale. What surprised me was the air quality monitoring, smoking in the room immediately set the monitor to red and it stayed in that range for about an hour. Was rather surprised as the air is normally 0, green. Very impressed. Overall 3M Filtrete is a solid brand and they don’t gouge you will the replacement filter costs.

This unit does a good job of keeping my bedroom air clead and circulated. The display is easy to read and use, having multilple brightness levels. Getting the unit connected to wifi is easy enough. The app often states that the connection is lost to the unit requiring an unplug and then plugging unit back in to re-establish. However i believe this fault to lie woth the App or whichever server Filtrete uses as during these lost connections the unit still responds to Hey Google commands on my smart home, just not to the app. Weird! Hopefully they can get this ironed out, however, this is an older prpduct line now so I think the bugs are here to stay. Regardless, unit does its job and air quality is easy to check without the app.

It took wildfire smoke's unhealthy air to finally convince me to buy a purifier, and now I'm wondering why I waited so long. This unit is quiet, unintrusive, and -- best of all -- effective. I was afraid that, with the recent uptick in customer demand, the price would be outrageous, but Best Buy's pricing was fair.

Honestly best purchase I've made. I almost never write reviews but this one changed my life. I have it running 24/7 for a month now & my sinuses have disappeared. Best buy shipped this air purifier within a day 10/10
