This is such a simple add on to an old concept. I am sure almost everyone has a filter that is supposed to do its job. But is it doing it? When do you need to replace it? What is the actual life of a filter? How is the air quality in your neighborhood? AL these questions get answered automatically when you this filter and its corresponding app. This simple innovation is great because it is simple and helpful. I installed the filter on 9/7/20. Today is 10/18/20. In one month, the remaining life is predicted at 88%. It means that this filter should be good for a few more (3-5) more months. The app is so easy. THERE IS NOTHING WORRISOME ABOUT THE INSTALLATION OF THE FILTER AND THE USE OF THE APP. I highlighted the previous sentence because many of us do not want to make everyday things complicated. This is not complicated at all. You take the filter out of the packet. Pull the cover off the sensor which is on the filter. Put the filter into the usual spot. Download the app and it will find the sensor automatically. The app will keep running in the background keeping an eye on the filter condition. You can check the air quality in your neighborhood and your filter life. The app is very intuitive. When the filter needs to be changed , just click on buy replacement or just buy a replacement and then click on pair replacement and you should be good to go. The cost is not exorbitant at all considering the longevity. I highly recommend this product.

Love the Filtrete Filters and the Smart feature comes in handy when your furnace filter is hard to get at to visually inspect. But Best Buy crunched these horribly en route for store pickup. I ordered 1 first, and it arrived a little mangled, but manageable. I like the filter itself, so I ordered 3 + 3 more hoping that Best Buy would send them in a box or two boxes. 5 arrived at the store and of those 3 were in good enough intact shape that I should be able to get them into the filter slot. No other delivery option was available and they were not avail in store. I would recommend this product, but would not recommend getting it shipped by Best Buy if you can't afford to play the damaged merchandise lotto

App crashed and burned, lost data, couldn’t reinstall. Maybe id10t error, but disappointed. Needs work

Filtrate itself is good as it should be. The sensor is basically useless as App is horribly written. I'd recommend this product if it's at the same price or cheaper than regular (not-smart) filtrate, and use it as regular filtrate without installing the App. Otherwise just go to regular one.

It saved me money are changing my filter too soon.

This isn't going to be too in-depth. It's an air filter for you home that allows you to monitor things like Indoor/Outdoor Air Quality and provide you with information on the remaining life/quality of the filter itself. Biggest thing to bear in mind, your mileage will vary depending on your region and the pollutants around. If you're inner city with a lot pollutants, you're probably going to be going through filters often enough. We live in the city, but it's a smaller city and we're away from most industry. The air is pretty nice in our area. I forgot what the status was on the filter but at the rate we go through them I'm gonna bet it should last us at least 6 months to a year before needing replaced. At least with this filter it will help give a better idea and notify us before it's time to replace it. If you want a good system in place to monitor your quality of air in your home or even business, this is going to be one of the best ways to go. Setup was a breeze. You simply pull apart the the "cap" on the monitor of the filter, and go through the process of pairing it to the app. The app itself is easy to use and very intuitive. It doesn't take long to get your bearings or bring up information. You can even order new or additional filters directly from the app. Just click the type of product, your filter size, then browse the various filters. When you find one you want that has the features you need, tap on it and then you can tap on buy. It will then give you a list of available retailers to buy said filter from. Hopefully this helps some of you. As I said, not very in-depth, but hopefully some useful information.

I was apprehensive about this filter but like that notification when it's time for replacement.

I just got it. I used curbside pickup, I thought it was a joke but it wasn't. I couldn't believe they gave me the filter like I was actually going to use it. What a disappointment.
