I was curiously excited to try out this Smart Air Filter. We already purchase and use Filtrete air filters in our home. I figured this “smart” filter had to be, at least, as good as the ones we already use. I assumed that this air filter would provide some interesting data. I’ve come to find out that this is only a little smart, and not in the way I expected. Upon installing the Filtrete Smart app (Android) and pairing it to the filter, which was very easy, my expectations diminished a bit. The only thing the app reports is outside air quality, based on your location, and the percentage left on the life of the filter. It’s been about a week now, since I installed the filter, and we are at 85%. In doing the math, we are in line for needing to replace the filter in about 2 months. Depending on the time of year, that’s about the average time frame we replace our filters. You can easily get the outdoor air quality using many other resources. So, the only real benefit to the smart feature is being reminded to change your filters. For me, I simply set reminders on my phone to change the filters. Consequently, it comes down to the actual quality of the filter and the price. As I mentioned, we already use Filtrete filters in our home. We use the Filtrete Healthy Living MPR 2200. This smart filter has an MPR of 1500. So, our existing filters are higher performing. Now for the price… we get our filters in a pack of 4, which brings the cost down to $15/filter. So, this smart filter costs $7 more for a lower MPR. I love Filtrete air filters. They are an awesome product and do a great job at filtering all the junk out of the air in our home. You can SEE how well they do. As for this smart filter, I just cannot justify paying more for a lower performing filter, just to be reminded when to change it.

Having an air filter that has blue tooth seems like a good idea. I allows you to track it as it gets dirty and would let you know when to change it out. I followed the easy instruction and connected it to my phone via the Filtrete app. i was able to tell how much use it was getting and still after 1 month 83% left. The down side is that i cant keep it connected to my bluetooth on my phone and it will go 7 days before telling me with no way to change that setting. Sometimes it is an easy reconnect but most times i have to go and remove the filter to get a reconnect. After that it stay connected for a while and then again disconnects. I am not sure if others have had similar issues.

I have always trusted this brand for my home filter needs so I was excited to try this smart version out. The app is simple to use and is very helpful in making me stay on task with remembering to change the filter regularly which I honestly needed because I often forget to change it as frequently as I should. The quality of the filter is expected... Excellent. This is definitely worth trying if you are like me and need a gentle reminder to change your filters regularly.

I have had this app and smart filter for about month. The setup was very simple, same as installing any other app on your phone. The pairing was pretty easy too. The app has some pretty neat features, one of the cooler ones is the air quality indicator. The only downside is the bluetooth connectivity strength. My setup has the furnace in the attic which is not easily accessible and in order to get my bluetooth in range i have to climb halfway up there. Im not sure if it's due to the transmitter or the materials in the attic or the fact the filter is in aluminum vents...all these things might diminish the signal. I am taking one star off but i suspect it is due to the setup i have. Overall i enjoy the app and it gives you a good indication of when filter repalcement is needed. It takes the guesswork out of maintenance.

I've been using Filtrete in my gas heather for a while now that didn't have have the app. They work great for me, so from the filter side, I see the same performance. The added feature with this filter is that you now have an app that helps you know whats going on and when to change the filter. With that said, there isn't anything life-changing with the app and most modern heaters tell you when you need to change the filter anyway. While I think its a neat feature, its not something you must have. I would recommend this to someone that wants to check the filter status using an app, but if you're not going to do it then just get a regular filter.

I am able to connect to Bluetooth without any issue which is good and I am surprised to monitor filter with technology :) this is the first time i am using with bluetooth on. I see dust on Filter so it is working :) good one.

Works great even has app that tells you when to replace it best filter to buy especially with viruses or even allergies it helps

Quick and easy install, replaced another bacteria air filter that whistled when air went through it. This one is super silent.
