Simply Better Tasting Water!

I have never been a fan of drinking tap water from my sink. I always preferred that water dispenser from my refrigerator because it is cool and filtered. As everyone knows, filling up a large jug or cup from a refrigerator door is now always easy and can make a huge mess. The Filtrete Maximum Under Sink Water Filtration System solves almost all of those problems! I installed the system in less than 10 minutes without having to go to the hardware store! Everything I needed was included in the box! The worst part was being underneath the cabinet! All I did was mount the filter valve, unscrew the existing water line from the water source, attach the lines to the filter, and flush the new filter. After the installation, the filter needs to run several gallons of water through it. I can honestly say, the water tastes MUCH BETTER! I don't mind drinking "sink water" now, and filling up jugs and bottles is no problem now! The filter is advertised to last 6 months before needing to be replaced. The only con with this filter is that the water pressure on the cold water side not has decreased slightly due to having to run through the filter. You also cannot attach it to the hot water side. This can damage the filter. All in all, better tasting healthier water with one easy install!

The Filtrete Maximum water filter kit is an under sink unit that connects to you faucet. There is no need to install an extra dispensing spout, no drilling or any other advanced installation activities required. Installation requires basic skills and tools that almost any homeowner has.
The kit includes all tubing and fittings required. You will need to find a place to mount the filter housing and ensure it is high enough to have clearance below the installed filter. After turning the water valves off you remove the cold water tubing going to your faucet from the the under sink water supply and attach one of the tubing provided in its place, this tubing is attached to the in side of the filter housing. the other tubing is attached to the out side of the housing and then back to the faucet tubing you removed in the first step. You then install the filter to the housing. The full install took about 15 minutes.
Before the first use you will need to run water through the filter for about 7 minutes, this clears air and any loose filter material from the filter then it's ready for use. Place the included filter change indicator and it will let you know when to change the filter. If you want you can even set up a text filter change reminder follow the instructions provided.
According to the manufacturer this filter reduces 99% lead, 99% microbial cysts, 97% chlorine taste & odor, 0.5 microns of sand, sediment, rust & soil and will last 6 months.
The water taste is good and this filter provides good flow.
If you want an easy to install kit with high filtration this is the one to get.

So I decided to get Filrete Maximum water filtration system for my sisters apartment. She lives in the city in an old apartment building that still has lead pipes and the owner is too cheap to replace them. The water in her apartment used to taste horrible, and she was actually using one of those faucet filtration systems and it wasn’t doing much. The faucet filtration system was removing the larger particles but it was not making a difference in the taste. She would have to boil the water after she would take the water from the tap and keep it in a container. This was such a pain. So after receiving this unit I took it over and went ahead and installed it. It literally took me 10 minutes to setup the unit and after running the tap for about 5 minutes to remove any air clean out the filter, we drank the water straight from the tap and both of us noticed an immediate difference in taste and it tasted so much better. We immediately fell in love and order 2 more units for apartment. I would recommend to anyone that still has old lead pipes or just looking to get better tasting water to buy this. It is not an expensive unit and you will thank yourself for getting one.
-Installation
The installation on this unit is extremely simple and pretty much anyone can do it. It took me about 10 minutes to install from to finish. 1. Just mount the quick connect output to a surface under your sink. 2. Connect the hoses to the tap and from the water supply line and run the tap for about 5 minutes to remove any air from the lines and clean out any remaining sediments from the filter and you are good to go. To replace the filter just turn and replace the filter which is meant to last about 6 months. The unit comes with everything you will need for the install expect for the tools and for that all you need is power drill, Philips head screw driver and an adjustable wrench.

Great Tasting Water and Easy to Install

This filter now replaces the water dispenser from the refrigerator we used to use for our drinking water. A major plus is it does not reduce the water flow by passing through the filter which is excellent. It is an activated charcoal filter so this 1 stage system lasts about 6 months and reduces microbial cysts, chlorine taste & odor, sand, soil, silt, rust and sediment based on 3M Testing. Makes tap water taste great and installs in less than 30 minutes. You will only need a wrench/channel locks, a screw driver, and your hands to use the press connectors. It is fast and easy to install. Overall, this is a reasonable system that will provide great tasting water for you and your family.
Custom install
I decided to make a drinking water faucet instead of filtering all the water that comes out of the sink. This should extend the filter's life as I don't need to filter the water I wash dishes with. Buy a 3/8" Tee Adapter at your local hardware store and you can do this too. Place the T on your cold water supply valve, reattach your sink water supply line and the new filter section and you are finished. See photos for final results.

---- Summary ----
Pros:
- Easy to install
- Effective filtration
- Convenient
- Filter lasts six months
- Use & Care guide is helpful
Cons:
- Slight reduction in cold water pressure
---- Review ----
Design & Installation:
In the box you get the filter, filter head assembly bracket, two ⅜” blue tubing, ⅜” male water supply line adapter, ⅜” compression hex nut, ⅜” ferrule, ⅜” tube insert, two #2 mounting screws, a time strip (indicates when to change the filter), and the Use & Care guide. All items seem well built and durable. Easy installation is advertised right on the box, and based on my experience, I would agree that it is easy. I had this water filtration system installed in less than 30 minutes. The part that took the longest for me was mounting the filter head assembly bracket. I probably could have accomplished it quicker, but the layout under my sink made it a bit tricky. Nonetheless, I got it mounted and proceeded to attach the included hoses as instructed in the manual without any issues. Something to note is that this filtration system can only be hooked up to the cold water line since the hot water line could damage the filter. Once setup is complete, the instructions say to run water through the system for five to seven minutes so I did that, then it was ready to go. Overall, it is a straightforward design with easy installation steps.
Features & Performance:
I had been looking for an under sink water filtration system and jumped at the opportunity to try this out. The tap water in my area is drinkable, so my main purpose for this water filtration system is to improve its quality for drinking and cooking. If you live somewhere with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality, it is important to be aware that this filtration system is not intended to purify unsafe water. Prior to installing this water filtration system, I was using a water filtering pitcher that was not very convenient, took up space, and had a poor filter. Installing the Filtrete Maximum Under Sink Water Filtration System has added convenience and peace of mind to my life. No longer do I need to frequently refill the water pitcher I had and change its filter every couple of months. Simply turning the sink on cold engages the under sink water filtration system and delivers water that has been filtered to reduce 99% lead, 99% microbial cysts, 97% chlorine taste & odor, 0.5 microns of sand, sediment, rust, and soil (based on 3M testing). The water pitcher filter I had was not as effective. While I did notice a slight decrease in my sink’s cold water pressure after installing this filtration system, I am pleasantly surprised that it was not a significant enough change to bother me. Another perk of this FIltrete system is that you only have to change the filter every six months.
Verdict:
If you are looking for a budget-friendly under the sink water filtration system, this is the one for you. It is easy to install and maintain, and the filter is long-lasting. The only downside I can think of is the slight reduction in cold water pressure, but as I mentioned, it was not enough to bother me. The convenience and peace of mind this provides are major benefits that make it easy for me to rate this a 5-star product that I recommend to others.

We had been looking at either getting a water filter that connected to the faucet, or one that was in a water pitcher. Mainly something to help keep our water clean since we tend to use it mainly for cooking. I would not consider myself an advanced handyman, so I had never considered a water filter that would connect directly to the water line under the sink.
I am glad that I went this route for filtering the water. First, installation was a breeze. A few screws to help mount the bracket that holds the filter and directs the water with the included tubes, and just connect everything together. The most difficult thing was screwing the bracket to the inside of the cabinet, but again an easy task, especially if you are using a drill. Next, was using the rest of the included accessories to connect the water line from the source to the faucet. Finally, you are just left with twisting the filter into place and you’re set!
My other concern when going this route was if water pressure coming out of the faucet would be greatly diminished, but I am happy to report that there were no problem in this area either.
I’d recommend this to anyone. It won’t change the look of your sink by adding this directly to the end of the faucet, you won’t have to take up more space in your fridge or counter with a pitcher of water, and it installs easily. The water tastes great, and the water pressure seems unaffected. This is an easy recommendation.

This Filtrete is a top-notch under the sink water filter with a good life span, reduces contaminants, excellent lead reduction, NSF certified, and improves water taste. It comes with all necessary tubings, connectors, and accessories. All you need to have on hand is a wrench, drill, 3/16” drill bit, and a Phillips head screwdriver. In my case, the installation was straightforward. Because I had plenty of space under my sink to work, if the sink is small and crowded with many tubing and attached devices, it might be somewhat challenging. First, install the filter holder bracket, connect the cold water line into the bracket, and connect it to the faucet with another tubing. Avoid installing near cabinet corners or edges; allowing 3 inches of space on both sides will prevent bending the tubing attached to the filter system. Note that this filter is recommended for cold water usage only, no hot water line. The water tastes better, so I would think it does remove the unwanted materials. Overall, I am impressed with this filter and how it improves the taste of our water.

Easy to install in cabinet under sink. But still had to go to hardware store to buy adapter for inlet water control valve $5 as stated in instructions no big deal but only gave 4 stars for having to do this. 30 minutes to install up and running. Don't really know how well filter works but having a filter is better than no filter and this is an inexpensive piece of mind.

Really easy to install and use. It came with everything I needed to replace my existing system. The ability to just twist and change the filter is much easier than opening my previous canister style filter. The water quality is great. It is larger than I thought it would be, but the size matches the specs.

I got this filter about a week ago and almost immediately set to get it installed. I was expecting it to take a long time so I blocked off a weekend afternoon to get it done. Much to my surprise, it ended up only taking about 15 minutes to finish after I got all my tools together. Once I decided where to mount it (this thing is relatively large and you need some clearance at the bottom to be able to replace the cartridge), it was as simple as putting in a couple of screws on the mounting bracket, attaching the water lines (all the necessary fittings were included for my install), and twisting on the filter. That was it. The instructions are excellent, and even if you have little to no experience with plumbing, installation is a breeze. Once that was done, a quick bleeding of the lines and flushing the filter was all that was needed to be up and running. I have noticed no decrease in water pressure and can definitely tell my water tastes (and feels) better after being filtered. I generally only drink water from the fridge dispenser which is already filtered, and use tap water for my coffee. I wasn't expecting to be able to tell much of a difference, but amazingly my coffee has a noticeably better taste from filtering out the contaminants. Hopefully, using this filter will also lengthen the time between having to descale my coffee pot as well but only time will tell. The only word of caution I have is to be sure you have space. Like I said before, this unit is relatively tall, so be sure you consider that when buying. You should only have to change the filter once or twice a year depending on how much water you use, so tucking it into a back corner is okay. If you've got the space, I'd highly recommend picking one of these up. You won't regret it.

Stop buying plastic water bottles and get this filtration system. The Filtrete Maximum Under Sink Water Filtration System is easy to install and easy to access for future servicing. The filter is huge, and has a six month filter life. I had I get this filtration system in my home because there’s no way of telling in what condition water supplies are in your municipality, so addition of a filtration system is very important to me. This is a pretty complete system with pressure fittings that allow for a quick installation.
After installing the Filtrete Maximum Under Sink Water Filtration System, the water tastes so much better. It’s good to know that whenever my family drinks water, we no longer have to worry about water contaminants that are of health concern.
The Filtrete Maximum Under Sink Water Filtration System is affordable and easy to install. I would highly recommend it for any home.
