Absolute blast to play. A true Final Fantasy for fans new and old. The game has added story elements that are very... Kingdom Hearts nonsensical, but I'm all in for it. Game play is absolutely solid and its a spectacular game and a must play for any gamer. There's a reason why the original is still considered the best JRPG of all time and one of the best games to ever been made. The remake (while only part 1 of a unknown amount of parts) feels like a complete game on its own. So warning for anyone who thinks this game is a remake of the entire original game.

Honestly my title says it all the story of FFVII has been one of the most memorable and personal favorites due to the mysterious nature of it the game play was greatly improved on in my opinion it gives the player more involvement the character models look great in the cutscenes atleast however the non main characters could look better (but it's understandable why they didn't put as much time into them) if you want a game that tells a somewhat mysterious feeling story this is your game (if you you didn't play the original that is) If you played the original it's great for nostalgia

Pre ordered about 1.5 year ago and BB delivered on release day as promised without delay, good job. Just spent exactly one week to beat the game, couldn't put it down, amazing graphics and soundtrack, and retelling of the first part of the iconic FF7. I did almost all the side quests and still clocked in over 60 hours, and not counting on going back to it to catch the missing trophies. I didn't mind most of the changes and SE did an excellent job. Absolutely worth the 5 year wait and can't wait to play part 2. It made me feel like a teen 23 years ago again.

Initially, I was going to skip over this game but I was so glad that I ended up buying and playing this game. Once I was engaged with it I couldn't get to the other games in my collection until I finished the story, which by the way I just did that after midnight of today. Whether you're a fan of Final Fantasy 7 since its release in the PS1 era or a newbie to the series, it is clear that this is a game that you should not pass up. I can't wait for the next part as it will stray from the predictable storyline and march forward into the unknown journey.

Sticks to the original story and has more! If your looking for an adventure look no more ! Fantastic graphics, story, character development, time consuming (if a completionist or not), strategic form of fighting (no just hitting the same button over and over, actually requires you to use items and magic), and it’s great for all type of gamers. Only sad thing about the game is that it’s not the whole story and that I will have to suffer for years just to play them all and hopefully they’ll follow the original and allow for a true open world game play.

Bought it on whim, being a fan of the original FFVII and liked it way more than I thought I would. The music is AMAZING and the game looks FANTASTIC. Gameplay is solid, supported by a dynamic, genuinely fun battle system that gives back what you put into it. While you can mash your way through battles, the game rewards you for slowing down and thinking about the best approach to any given enemy. My first playthrough took about 40 hours, but there's a Hard mode and more to do beyond that if you're into those kinds of things. Loved it, overall.

Overall, a great remake. The visuals are astounding and the sounds are just wonderful, atmospheric. The game play is very fluid and fun. There are a lot of new additions such as the staggering system during battles which was taken from FF XIII. The updated graphics are a joy to see. This version is no longer turn based but is now action oriented which is a welcome change, making the game play much faster paced. The only down side is that you are limited by the number of battles you can do. Gone are the days of grinding for experience to lv up.

This game is great! I loved the original on PS1, and this refurbished title held true to the main story, while keeping it fresh with new content. The upgrade in graphics was great on the eyes, bringing the characters to life and leaving less up to the imagination. I would recommend this game to anyone into RPGs of any kind, anyone who enjoyed the first one, or anyone looking to enter a new realm of gaming outside of battle royals or sports... now to see if I can beat it on HARD MODE now that I'm done with the normal mode...

As someone who loves RPGs but somehow never played a Final Fantasy title, I was excited to play this new take on a beloved classic. I loved the fast paced and flashy combat (with all characters too!) as well as the deep options for customization. The story was interesting and the characters were fun, but there is a LOT of filler moments. These moments are suppose to break up the combat sections but I feel there are too many to these. A minor complaint though. Do know this is only part 1 of this complete game though!

Fun game to play, graphics are decent, story is well done. the game works. not much else. Kinda knew what I was getting.

If you played the original final fantasy 7 then you’ll love this. Graphics are amazing. There are some small changes. Still really good.

This is more than a remake. Feels more like a brand new game with characters based on the classic Final Fantasy 7 game. Graphics are amazing, You could tell they really took their time in making this game as they really took advantage of all the PS4's graphical capabilities as the console is nearing the end of it's life cycle. Action sequence and voice acting are superb. Gameplay is really enjoyable. This is my daughter's first FF game and she was obsessed with it. Can't wait for the next chapter.

Fans waited decades for this remake. It did not disappoint at all, although it isn’t the entire story. The ending will definitely make you want more & can not wait for part 2. No clue when that will release but the new mechanics & full overload of it all is a masterpiece all over again. If you played the original you know what you are getting..with the best story line & beloved characters everyone never wanted to go away. That’s why many call it the greatest of all time.

Finally, after waiting so long, all of us OG FFVII Fans were able to get a remake for our beloved game! The game, and the world was so immersive, it felt as if I was revisiting my old friends. Graphics and visuals were stunning! Story line is beautiful with some new twists that I can appreciate. Voice actors did an amazing job bringing our beloved characters to life! I’d give this a 10/5 stars if I could! I can’t wait until the second part comes out!

I’ve been waiting for this game for what feels like forever. I was actually at the PS Expo when they trolled us about the remake... And the wait was 100% worth it! I just can’t stop playing this game! It is gorgeous, entertaining, well paced, and excellent character development. The story takes what you remember and expands it into a much richer experience. Honestly, I recommend that everyone get this game regardless of whether they played the original! You will love it

I played the original when I was younger and waited until the Black Friday deal to get it half off. Totally worth it! It really fleshes out the secondary characters and makes cut scenes the treat they are. I enjoyed the toggle options for battle, to switch from real time action to a more calculated approach. Despite the overhaul in graphics, it still felt like the Midgar I explored. The beautiful score helps to bring that nostalgia home.

I loved the battle system as it was a near perfect mix of modern action with the ATB and materia systems from the original game. The character interaction was excellent. Definitely pick this up if you liked the original FFVII. Seeing Midgar in high fidelity visuals was like a dream come true, aside from some rare texture loading issues in a few cases. I was hungry for more when I finished the main story and I immediately started playing through again on hard mode.

Don't listen to the horrible lying whiny bad "reviews". Everyone is a critic apparently. Totally enjoyed this game from beginning til end. Graphics, story, the characters you grow to love, are all fantastic. So many moments I laughed my butt off and so many dramatic and touching scenes. Needless to say, I loved it! Some people who played the original have a problem with the ending not being a duplicate but overall this game is just AMAZING. Play it or miss out.

This is an entirely different experience from the original. And it’s in the best way possible. It’s not just your typical remake with better graphics and the same type of gameplay. Characters and plot points are flushed out more. Which makes the story flow better overall. As for the gameplay. There are tutorials on it and the material format is much better and easier to use. If you’re a fan of the original. You may actually enjoy it more and could be better.
