Beautiful and awesome gamplay
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What can I say that people have not already said about this game. It is awesome, it is the first FF that I have played it since FF9 and I enjoyed my time playing and I am still playing it. The type of play stile is immersive for me and all the small things you can do in the game are mostly entertaining, some feel like shore but the rewards are good for the time you spend doing side things. I am very happy with the game so far, main story is awesome. I always disliked games with Season Pass but you can't win it all.

Good looking, good voice actors, fun gameplay
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game offers a lot of content. It looks good, plays well, and definitely provides an enjoyable experience. That being said, I have three complaints about the game. The first is that the combat is a bit simplistic and can be clunky at times. You essentially just hold down "O" and your character does all the rest. Dodging is more involved, but I find the dodging mechanic to be inconsistent especially when fighting large enemies. The second is that the ability/magic/item system is needlessly complex. I understand that the selling point behind this is to let the user play any and every way they want. But my experience with the magic system is "ok well I've played for 2 hours and now have enough materials to make another spell (spells have charges btw. You have to make more once they run out. Dumb.) So how potent do I make it? Do I add 5 of this ingredient or 10? What about this ingredient? Will this even do any damage? Should I just use all my ingredients and make one really powerful spell?" And then you make the spell, it turns out to be mediocre, and you only have 2 charges, and you have to play another 2 hours to get enough ingredients to make another 2 charges of a mediocre spell. The third is the tactical mode that lets you essentially pause combat in order to analyze an enemy to discover their weaknesses and get an overview of their stats. This is critical to game-play. BUT you have to pause the game, go into settings, and enable the mode, examine the enemy, go back to settings, and disable the mode otherwise every time you stop moving the entire game pauses. Why isn't this bound to a button you can quickly use in combat??? This is seriously one the strangest and stupidest design/game-play decisions I've ever seen in a game. However, all that doesn't detract enough from the overall game-play experience to make me dislike the game. I definitely still recommend it.

Worth the wait!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After 10 years of development, it's finally out! The combat system is a lot of fun and being able to mix it up with Wait Mode is great for those hairier battles. Driving through the country-side listening to old Final Fantasy soundtracks and taking in the scenery is relaxing. You really get the feel that this is a road-trip between friends. Also the bounty hunter quests remind me a lot of Monster Hunter in a really good way.

OK game if you're new to the series
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's not bad if you're new to the series, but if you're a diehard final fantasy fan that had played majority of the old games in the series, you will be highly disappointed. The story is mediocre and disjointed. The game play is more action based instead of traditional turn-based. There were patches released to help patch up some of the plot holes, but it didn't help much if you didn't buy the season pass. If you're new to the series, you would probably love it for the action and graphics.

Worthwhile, and for a good price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'd been eyeing Final Fantasy XV for a while, considering it's the most recent major release in the series and it's been recommended heavily for its story. Haven't gotten fully through it yet, but I've been enjoying the heck out of it. $20 is a good price, especially considering it released at MSRP not too many years ago now. Worth picking up, though the Royal Edition isn't too much more.

Great fun
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was surprised at how much I enjoy this game. I was just going to borrow it from a friend, eventually, but I decided to buy it on a whim and put 40 hours into it within the first few weeks. Lots to do and see. Characters are pretty good too. Feels like a genuine group of friends (although it does come off as a bit goody-goody as they cannot be really be over the top like guys in real life) going on an adventure.

Good Game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the Final Fantasy type games and this one doesn't disappoint. The battle system takes some getting used to but after you get the hang of it, it'll be second nature. The game does get a little bit tedious with the constant side missions and extra things to do outside of the main story, which can be a good thing, but I feel the side missions are all very similar with not a lot of variety. Fetch mission after fetch mission. Great dialogue between the characters though and you get attached to them.
