It is great to see the Final Fantasy series focus more on just simply a good story. I’m invested early on and want to keep progressing the game in order to find out more of what’s going on. The combat is really enjoyable. I like that there’s so many options when it comes to combat but they’re not all balanced and I do find myself using certain combinations more than others due to the huge difference they make in fights. Overall, FF7 Remake still had the more enjoyable combat for me, with the ability to play other characters, but it is pretty good. The dialogue gets a little cheesy at times but I love the darker tone the series took and hope to see more. I’m looking forward to any DLC they plan to add.

This game shows a true evolution in the Final Fantasy franchise. Not only did I fall in love with the high-octane combat, but I also found myself becoming fully immersed in the game’s world and characters. Clive Rosfield has to be one of the most compelling protagonists in video games. There are so many layers to him and watching his growth throughout the main story was an emotional journey. I HIGHLY recommend this game to anyone with a PS5! The love and care put into this title made it worth every penny.

Full disclosure; this game is very cutscene/story heavy. If you're into that though, then this game will definitely come through! Aside from that, the gameplay is very fast paced yet accessible, for those who are a little more casual. But if you're looking for something more challenging, this won't disappoint either. You can really make it your own. I know this game won't be for everyone, and can be rather divisive in terms of being a Final Fantasy, but on its own merit I'd give it my full recommendation!

This game is absolutely amazing. This is my first time playing this series and I must say that I have enjoyed every little bit of it so far. I'm only about an hour into it but I'm hooked. I love the cinematic transitions alongside of the game and the combat is pretty satisfying as well. Excited for the future of games based on how this game is. The storyline is amazing along with the characters and the representations the characters portray. All around stunning game and a must play in my opinion on the PS5.

Production quality is what you’d expect from Final Fantasy but it just doesn’t feel like a FF entry. The world and character/enemy designs are amazing but the frequent F-bombs are kinda distracting- definitely some Game of Thrones influence. But that being said, it is an excellent action RPG in its own right. If you enjoy those and medieval fantasy settings then you will likely enjoy this game.

Enjoying the game so far, I'd rate it higher than XV. My only complaint with this is there's now a complete edition that includes the DLC, so compare prices between the two before buying.

As a fan of Final Fantasy and hack and slash titles like Bayonetta and DMC this game plays amazing. The story is gripping and holds you on the edge of your seat as the story ramps up over the dozens of hours you'll experience to complete. Ignoring the "Is this Final Fantasy" argument that every entry receives. This is a fantastic title worth your time and is an easy title that if you wanted to play for months on end and have an easy start to your PS5 collection this is a perfect start.

Bloodier and more potty mouthed than previous entries. Themes of deeply entrenched systematic oppression that are strongly present and very possibly overbearing and offputting to some. Less linear than X, but not as open as XV. Fun and smooth gameplay. Good graphics and enough environmental variety. Good sound track. Proper use of the series' traditional and recognizable elements. Non-excessive use of nostalgia that doesn't over power the new ideas present. A game worthy of its name.

The story is great! Combat is fun, but somewhat repetitive. The game is fairly linear and not particularly difficult. Not a traditional RPG, more of an action adventure.

Beautiful game, I prefer graphics mode, as performance mode seems to have frame drops below 60 anyways. I didn't get my steelbook with the game, so I called customer support. Was on the phone for a while, call even dropped once, but they called back. Now my steelbook is shipped and on its way. Customer support rep was great!

The gameplaya nd story is just amazing. What really steals the show tho is the music. The music is beyond phenomenal.

Amazing game with amazing graphics and story. Only problem is i preordered the game months ago only to find out that the standard edition does not come with the steelbook like it stated. Had i known this i may have boughten the deluxe edition that comes with the steelbook. I have never had to order the steelbook seperately with any other game. Needless to say i am disappointed that i did not get the steelbook when it specifically said it would. Other than that an amazing game.

Buy it if you like fantasy, no-brainier if it's on sale, like I see it is now for $40. The music, graphics and cinematography throughout cut-scenes are thoroughly impressive. The game play is deeper than people give it credit for, as it can be beaten with not much mix up of combos and just spamming simple attacks. If you like a challenge though, NG+ offers a much better experience and requires tactic.

This entry has an outstanding story, beautiful graphics, and solid gameplay. Compared to previous entries, they took away some of the RPG elements, which is a tad disappointing. However, the action-centric combat is super smooth, and having all of the different summon abilities is fun. The two DLC's are awesome, as well.

I have played Final Fantasy since the 8th (around 9 years old) I have loved these games for years and always excited to buy. While the tone of this game is drastically darker than the previous ones (sexual scenes and cursing) I really did enjoy it. Great story and the voice acting was great. My favorite was the eikon battles, these look great and are fun to play and amazing to watch. I cannot wait for the next Final Fantasy to see what they do next!

This is drastically different from other FF games but i absolutely love it. Been playing these since the SNES days, i love FF6, FF7, FF9 and now that ive beaten this game FF16 stands equal in quality right beside those. I highly recommend this, the story and combat are both engaging and will keep your attention until thr very end. I did a 100% completion and i would still love more. One of the rare times i am hoping for DLC.
