Fetch me my cutlass!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great game. I’d say ignore the early side quests until you get past the first “point of no return”. The boss fights are a spectacle to behold. All the abilities are great and you can make some crazy combos. The game is beautiful at times but it doesn’t perform as well as I think it should I’m knocking a point off for that. The story is pretty good but some of it had me scratching my head. I’m playing through it again right after I already beat it, that’s saying something I rarely do that.

Decent Action RPG that doesn't quite hit the mark
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The story is decent and the gameplay is fun, but there's really no challenge here. Repetitive side quests and extremely useless equipment make the game feel generic and the lack of character development makes it forgettable. Battle system is fun but repetitive and you'll find yourself spamming the same combo for pretty much every battle. Overall it was fun and I did enjoy it, but I'd wait for a decent sale to purchase it. Feels like it was made 5 years ago.

Brilliant Story!
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Brilliant story...beautiful cinemagraphics...I only wished that it was longer. However, I've heard that there are DLCs available. It won't add much to the original (I'm assuming) but the original is enough in my opinion...

This game offers hours of awesome gameplay, engaging stories, lovable characters, and phenomenal boss fights. I implore anyone new to Final Fantasy to play this one until the very end. A change to the formula but very enjoyable
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Been a long time Final Fantasy fan. Was catching up on the franchise playing the more recent games I didn't have time to play when they originally came out. XVI has a battle system quite different from previous entries, but still very enjoyable. Great story, great designs and good action.

Great title in a legendary franchise.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great story and beautiful graphics. Combat is ok, but a little clunky at times, though that is more than likely a skill issue on my part.

FF 16
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve been a FF fan from the beginning. I like FF 16. The graphics are great and the story is good. My complaint is how much screen time there is that isn’t interactive. There have always been cutscenes, but there seems to be so many. After playing Hogwarts Legacy and Horizon Dawn, I get bored with the cutscenes in FF. I was surprised at the increase in mature content. It didn’t really bother me, but it didn’t really seem necessary. It felt forced in some cases.

A New Kind of Final Fantasy
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Worthy of the Final Fantasy name! The combat is satisfying and not as dumbed-down as it looks in the trailers. Story was awesome and the graphics are truly next-gen. A must-have for any PS5 owner.

EPIC
|Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game blew me away with its story, gameplay, and visual presentation. There is a little bit of filler spread out through the main story, but its kind of expected from a jrpg so i wouldnt knock any points for that reason. Overall i could safely say this is my favorite final fantasy entry would highly recommend to returning and newcomers to the franchise.

BEST GAME OF 2023
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my very first final fantasy game and I could gladly say that this one of the best games I’ve ever played this year. Everything from the OST, cinematography, story, boss battles and combat is perfect with little to no flaws. This truly feels like a next gen game pushing the ps5 to its limits.

Darkest Final Fantasy Yet
|Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Narrative, world building, music, gameplay are all top notch. Torgal is the best boi. I'm glad Square took FF7R and threw out all the traditional JRPG conventions and made a pure character action game. There is still stuff like forced crafting where the mechanics might as well not be there but otherwise, I'm loving this direction for the franchise.

A well executed evolution of the series
|Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was wary of the move away from turn-based combat to a full on action approach, but in the first 20 minutes I understood exactly what the combat system wanted from me - unlike FFXV. The story and setting also satisfy on the Final Fantasy front. If you keep an open mind and dont go into this wishing for 1997, you will be happy with it.

Play this game if you have a ps5
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.FFXVI is an amazing game. The story has great twists and turns, great characters with excellent growth, and side quests that are worth doing. The combat is so much fun, you can really play the way you want with all the available skills and abilities that you aquire. This is a top 3 Final Fantasy game all time, possibly the best ever.

This latest Fantasy is far from the Final...
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The story in this Final Fantasy is far more focused on the characters, and that brings a more emotional hit as the title moves forward. Along with the best graphics the seriea has ever enjoyed, this game is absolutely fantastic. If the game gets any expansions, I for one welcome them. A must have for any PS5 owner.

Final Fantasy 16
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The game is so interesting. I find myself absorbed in the environment and the story. Every cutscene that happens makes me curious about what might happen next. The gameplay is also very fun. I find myself using different abilities and skills to make the combat even more fun and thrilling. I can't wait to see how the story comes to an end.

Final Fantasy Meets Game of Thrones
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was apprehensive about getting this game at first. Although I had played final fantasy before, it’s been a few years and the trailers turned me off by how visually overwhelming combat is — though, a nice change in pace from turn based combat. My experience was that this was a pleasure to play. Although combat can still be a little confusing to tell what’s actually happening, there are equitable items that can aid with slowing things down, or automizing combat. Cut scenes are long, but very well done. The writing in phenomenal— this story would do well as a limited television series. The American protagonist voice actor isn’t great, but otherwise, performances are wonderful. Gameplay is smooth and the haptic feedback is subtle but rewarding. It is tough to play this for more than 2-3 hours at a time — the combat is great but a bit draining at times. Some fights do go on forever and the fatigue of dragon ball Z grade action fighting does begin to wear on me after a while. It’s nice to return to Final Fantasy after not having played anything since Final Fantasy x.

Not a traditional RPG, but a very cool action game
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While it's true that Final Fantasy games stopped being turn based almost 20 years ago, I expected this one go back to that type of gameplay. I was a little disappointed at first when I noticed this was an action game and not a traditional RPG, but once the combat started to open up more I started to have a blast. The music and combat are solid, the story is okay, not bad but not great. I strongly recommend it to anyone with a PS5.

Final Fantasy meets Game of Thrones
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It has some of the political atmosphere that Game of Thrones had with elements that ate typical in Final Fantasy games like the Mother Crystals. It is a great action game but has moments where you're doing fetch quest to progress the main story. Also, the rpg elements are disappointing, in my opinion. The story, characters, and core gameplay are top tier, which make its flaws tolerable. I'd rate this 4.5 stars if i could.
